As a car guy who likes to wrench his own vehicle and a gun owner I think it would have hit much harder if he tried the 9mm but it didn’t fit and he had to searching for the 10 mm. Which we can never find.
I was expecting that from the get go, so what he did was a surprise and more funny but only because I was expecting a “where’s the 10mm?” joke. I appreciate his creative intros for sure

Mossberg 500 series is the only shotgun to pass the MilSpec 3443 Torture Test. Remington and Winchester refused to even submit their shotguns. Which was probably a good business move, since they already owned most of the market and if their guns failed, they'd lose a lot of sales. Still, it doesn't say a lot about their confidence in their products.

You absolutely can under circumstances of training point your gun at the TV and dry fire practice. If 2 people consent to such training, you can even point them at each other. A VERIFIED unloaded gun doesn't magically become loaded.

I've always been a fan of the 12ga riot gun, great for checking out things that go "bump" in the night! I keep my first two rounds double ought buck, and top it off with slugs.
Things that bump in the night tend to bump themselves right into the forever box if they do a fuckiwucki. Glad to see you're helping arranging these meetings.
They're still relatively inexpensive, and built like tanks. I've been a fan of them since I got my first "combo kit" from Big 5 in the '90s, with the single bar action. Thing was indestructible; I sold it along with many of my guns when I got laid off during the dot-com crash in '01... and promptly bought another 500 as soon as I could afford a new one. They're kind of like, well, Toyota pickup trucks...
Or 2 the maverick 88 is basically the same thing. The safety is a little different and I don't think it's has as much blueing. For the money they are solid asf though. Mossberg 500 series are badass. The maverick 88 is alot cheaper though.
I recently got to play with a 590S. It doesn't have the heavy barrel and metal trigger frame like the A1, but it will cycle any combination of 1.75", 2.75" and 3" shells from the factory, no mods or adapters needed. The 20" model will hold THIRTEEN Aguila shortie shells filled with four #1 buck and seven #4 buck. They're less powerful than standards shells obviously, but still very capable of doing most things you might need a shotgun to do, and now it only kicks like a 20 gauge.
I actually like the lighter barrel the A1 is really heavy for what it is and the metal trigger frame can be upgraded from brownell’s making it the best of both worlds
These minis seem to be the wave right now, but have you actually seen anything as far as effectiveness testing? I’m really curious in them but I like the terminal ballistics of full power rounds. Just curious, not trying to start anything. Edit: Paul Harrell has 2 videos up about them, so I’m sure I’ll find some answers there.
To be fair, it wasn't his shotgun; the flashlight guys sent it to him. All in all, pretty cheap for a major marketing campaign - and if there's one shotty you can beat the crap out of and still have run fairly reasonably, it would be a Mossy 5XX. Oh, and the light is pretty solid too - kinda bulky, overbuilt, and virtually indestructible. A great pairing!! 😛

I run aguila mini shells in my mossy for home defense. Doubled my loadout and still devastating. It runs it just fine with an adapter in the receiver. Kind of hard to find ammo, though.
@@superluminalsquirrel9359500 pump. I was surprised on the recoil the first time I ran the mini shells. Being so short of a shell there's no room for a buffer, it's just a hard plastic puck. Not bad recoil, just a little more than I expected. Decent groups. The slugs still pack a good wallop.

Mine has never fallen out. I tested it when I got the ammo and it would feed without it.... some of the time.
It's actually really interesting to see, how after the first shot after the "Demo Ranch Lube (aka fronch mostard)" how the 'lube moves back from the initial application point and smears from the shock. Just...a little neat sciency bit.
He definitely isn't as enthusiastic as the early videos. Seems to do it more for the money now and it's understandable. He is in a different space financially and seems like he wants to go into a different space content wise

Or 2 the maverick 88 is basically the same thing. The safety is a little different and I don't think it's has as much blueing. For the money they are solid asf though. Mossberg 500 series are badass. The maverick 88 is alot cheaper though.

I recently got to play with a 590S. It doesn't have the heavy barrel and metal trigger frame like the A1, but it will cycle any combination of 1.75", 2.75" and 3" shells from the factory, no mods or adapters needed. The 20" model will hold THIRTEEN Aguila shortie shells filled with four #1 buck and seven #4 buck. They're less powerful than standards shells obviously, but still very capable of doing most things you might need a shotgun to do, and now it only kicks like a 20 gauge.
I actually like the lighter barrel the A1 is really heavy for what it is and the metal trigger frame can be upgraded from brownell’s making it the best of both worlds
These minis seem to be the wave right now, but have you actually seen anything as far as effectiveness testing? I’m really curious in them but I like the terminal ballistics of full power rounds. Just curious, not trying to start anything.

Since a 9mm spanner/ socket doesn't generally come in a metric set and even more rare to find a 9mm bolt, using a 9mm pistol makes perfect sense.

To be fair, it wasn't his shotgun; the flashlight guys sent it to him. All in all, pretty cheap for a major marketing campaign - and if there's one shotty you can beat the crap out of and still have run fairly reasonably, it would be a Mossy 5XX. Oh, and the light is pretty solid too - kinda bulky, overbuilt, and virtually indestructible. A great pairing!! 😛

I run aguila mini shells in my mossy for home defense. Doubled my loadout and still devastating. It runs it just fine with an adapter in the receiver. Kind of hard to find ammo, though.
Semi-auto or pump?
My real question is does a pump-action require that adapter to run minis?
@@superluminalsquirrel9359500 pump. I was surprised on the recoil the first time I ran the mini shells. Being so short of a shell there's no room for a buffer, it's just a hard plastic puck. Not bad recoil, just a little more than I expected. Decent groups. The slugs still pack a good wallop.
@@superluminalsquirrel9359 I've been told it isn't needed. But I've never seen anyone actually prove it. It's under 20 bucks for the adapter. Pops in and out very easily but has good retention. Mine has never fallen out. I tested it when I got the ammo and it would feed without it.... some of the time.
