    Your car sounds really good man! I love the sound and wants to have the same on my Touareg V8. Do you happen to know the part number of the two Borla Pro XS mufflers? is the inlet and outlet a center/center, center/offset, or offset/offset? Thank you.

      They're just Borla Pro XS mufflers. The factory muffler is dual in dual out, so it's just replaced with two single-in single-out Borlas. Just get whatever fits. I think the approximate exhaust diameter is 2.25, so 2.25" in/out Pro XSes is probably what they are. I don't know if they make them in different body sizes, but they're probably the smallest available because there isn't much room back there. I don't know the part numbers off hand.

      mckpat03 Thank You so much for that. Do you think the part numbers matters that much?

    • @mckpat03
      @mckpat03  7 лет назад

      Not really. The important part is getting the diameter right. After that, it's just a matter of determining what will fit and/or work best, whether it's center-in center-out or center-in offset-out or offset-in offset-out, and what body size you want. I don't know what mine are and I don't have the vehicle anymore to check.

      mckpat03 Oh okay. Thank you. I will take yhe car to a muffler shop to get the diameter and length right before ordering them. Thank you

      @@mckpat03every Touareg sounds good for me just need to put on a loud exhaust for the ones who ain’t loud to see the exciting sound this car produces well but I like the W12 V10 TDI and V8 noise the most tho

    I'm looking at buying a 2005-2007 V8 in April (once my probation period at my new job is over). even though I've never been in one, I'd say that it's my favourite car.
    I do have a few questions though, how do you find the acceleration to be? I'm used to driving my dad's Prius, so anything faster than a Ford Windstar would feel like a rocket to me. also, how do you find the quality of the sound system to be (assuming you have the nav system)?

      Yeah, it is quite a fast rig! I just bought one with a V8 two months ago. What an awesome car

    Do you remember the part number of these mufflers?

    • @mckpat03
      @mckpat03  6 лет назад +1

      Darrell Sands I don’t know the part number. The PO put them on years ago. They’re Borla ProXS mufflers in whatever size and inlet/outlet configuration fits the back of the car. It’s not a special setup or anything.

    Nice!! How is it in the cabin? Trying to decide between the magnaflow or these

    • @mckpat03
      @mckpat03  8 лет назад +2

      +grand1prix19 It's really not bad at all in the cabin. With that said, I can always hear it when I'm using the throttle and accelerating. When cruising on the highway, I think the sound is almost non-existent. But as these mufflers have gotten older, I think they've gotten a hair louder.
      My other exhaust video gives a more accurate depiction of the sound, I think. ruclips.net/video/lVN07l4fYZA/видео.html
      Anyway, to your point, I don't think you can go wrong with either. I guess it also depends on what Magnaflow you want, too. My brother had Magnaflow Magnapacks, and it was much more aggressive, as they are just a 4" diameter resonator, essentially.

    how has the car been holding up? I'm looking to get one in the coming months and was told some electric problems are costly.

    • @mckpat03
      @mckpat03  8 лет назад +1

      It's been great. I have had it for 25k-ish miles. I bought it around 93k and I'm at 118k now. Between the previous owner and I, it has just needed routine maintenance, for the most part. The 04 Touaregs are the worst, problem wise - electrical and other. The only things out of the ordinary that have been addressed are an air suspension level sensor, headlight level control/ballast while the previous owner had it, and I've done all driveline fluids (diffs, trans, t-case), t-case locking motor (expensive but 5 bolts and 20 minutes to swap), and now I'm dealing with a loss of power but I think it's just the fuel filter. It's been quite reliable, and it's super fun and rare. I can't imagine another SUV being as enjoyable.

      +mckpat03 yeah. I love the fact that you don't see them everyday. It's a great car when it's maintained well. thanks for the info.

    Thanks for the info, that's your brothers Touareg? That's the video I first saw that initially started this madness! Lol,,, so you think the magnapacks are louder?

    • @mckpat03
      @mckpat03  8 лет назад

      +grand1prix19 Yep. He had that quite some time ago, maybe fall 2011 or spring 2012. Anyway, yeah, I think the magnapacks are a hair louder. In reality, they're probably pretty close, but I think the small size of the Magnapacks dictates a slightly louder and more aggressive sound. He had the smallest Magnapack they make, which is 4" diameter by 14" length.

      Acceleration is good. They make great use of the power considering how heavy they are. They definitely accelerate quicker than an econo-box, I'd think. The 04-06 have the older 310hp engine whereas the 2007 switched to the modern and more efficient 350hp direct-injection V8.
      I'm not an audiophile at all, but I think the sound is great. It's certainly better than a base model Jetta or something. I have nav and everything in mine. The nav system is antiquated and almost useless.

      I have a stock 05 and it accelerates pretty well. The sound system is phenomenal and its a very comfortable car. Extremely fun to drive and never gets stuck anywhere. Once I start modding mine out it'll be a whole new beast too!

      Thanks guys! I just bought one last Friday. 2005 V8 with every option but air suspension and 4 zone climate.
      It definitely is a great engine (though quite thirsty). The timing belt isn't cheap on these things either.
      I defimitely agree that the nav system could be a lot better. I'm looking at upgrading it to the newer and better RNS 510 from the 2009-2010 models. It will require a can-bus converter from Kunset, but apparently the sound quality is dramatically improved when switching to the new head unit.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the car. It's one of the nicest cars I've ever driven
