(1) Lokpal is a statutory body without any constitutional status.
(2) The chairman and member of the lokpal is appointed by the president on the recommendation of a selection committee. The chairman of the selection committee is Prime minister.
(3) Central vigilance commission is a statutory body which is established by an act of parliament or by an act of state legislature. It is not established by executive order.
