Thats how & why I wish they Recorded another heavy Rocking Album, they won't just another band that "won't repeat the past" yet record lame songs since the 1990's
They recorded a lot of great hard rockers on their albums after Hysteria. They were just surrounded by ballads and other types of songs. Songs like Day after Day and Paper Sun on Euphoria, Truth on Slang, Go and Come Undone on Sparkle Lounge, Wings of an Angel on the self titled album, and Liquid Dust, U Rok Mi, and Kick on the newest one. Point taken however, they know how to rock but they are so diversified and that's why they have such a large fan base because their entire catalog appeals to the masses.
I love when they do the early stuff. Love all of their songs, but their early stuff, especially performed here in Sheffield, feels like an acknowledgment of their roots. I'm proud to live in Sheffield!
They sound great. It upsets me too. For decades they ignore the heavier parts of their discography, especially the first two albums and most of Pyromania. They can still play these songs without sounding washed up and you can tell Joe enjoys too and knows the lyrics front and back. But when they tour over and over and over again its the same pop songs that were popular on the radio or as on the stadium tour shove the new songs down your throat. Or the new album if your lucky has one fast song - bad actress from a few albums back is their heaviest song in last 20 years. Imagine Metallica and Ac/DC and Aerosmith, not playing anything from their first two albums. The crowd is all pumped up hearing these songs and to me it does not matter if Viv Or Phil was not on their first two albums, as Joe said on VH1 Storytellers. Def Leppard can easily put in a two hour set and throw at least four fast tracks in - Wasted every night, Rock Brigade, Stage Fright, Rock Rock Till You Drop, Hit And Run, instead of Two Steps, Have You Ever Loved.., etc, How about a new album with just metal tunes and a ballad. I rather hear Pyromania album live than Hysteria, and it sell the same amount of tickets, unless T Master makes them unaffordable.
I saw these in nov 79 supporting acdc at bingley hall in Stafford i went out next day and got this on 45 and still have it its got a picture of a white cowboy boot on it its followed me all the way to Oz
Gutted I missed this, I flew home to Sheffield from Texas the month before and I literally missed out by 2 weeks, I was already back in the US, thanks for posting mate
Awesome!...i think some people forgot or maybe don't know that Viv helped write and played on the Dio songs that made Dio a rock god.. Viv is a massive player
Oh trust me, everyone knows the contributions Viv made to Dio. No one forgets but fans of Def Leppard may not know his history. Def is one of those bands that transcends genres.
BADASS!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️ I presume the “skinny blonde” Joe is talking about in the beginning is Steve??😍 Steve wrote this song start to finish… This band is phenomenal live!! I wish they’d play a few oldies for their super fans tho!!!
Sounds amazing. You know they've been warming up their crowds with actually playing rock music again. They've certainly got the talent and base to put out a real heavy album and tour it, of course backed by all the syrup on they've poured on for the last several decades...back to that crossover winning formula, only this time metal.
Wasted was always opened by Steve and it was his solo. When Viv came onboard, Phil said it made sense for Viv to play Steve's parts. It irks me when Viv doesn't get to play all of Steve's parts.
Love it when they play the old stuff. Gives Viv a chance to show off his true talents to the Leppard fans.
I'm glad Def Leppard has embraced being a rock band again.
That absolutely kicked ass! The energy and performance was off the hook. The band was simply on 🔥 and Viv's solo Wow!!!

Nice story about Steve. RIP
❤
Proper rock band. No backing tracks needed.
Watched online, but wished I could have been there. This song represents the absolute VERY BEST of Def Leppard!!! First two albums just can't be beat!

All hail Vivian Campbell...
🎸🤘🐆
They remembered they had a 1st album???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way!
There's nobody like phil collin but my gosh vivian is so good😂
Wow! They still remember how to play songs off the first album???
Hi, I work for ITV News Calendar. Please can we use this video? We will credit you :)
Hi,what would ITV be wanting the video for please?
Add it to the set list you cowards.
Hell yes. 🤘🏻
That album was great saw them open for Ted Nugent to say the crowd didn’t like them understatement but then they went more hair band vibe and lost me
they should've had VC play lead on this song with feeling like Clark and Willi originally played it
i miss the live energy guys.....hugs xx
