As captain, he unselfishly took in this leadership role, which has been better for the team. On that 1st goal, yes, young Bombito got turned around; but there was an awful foul in midfield that never got called, which is what gave Argentina the opportunity to score. Canada created a lot of chances in this match. Marsch admitted afterwards, that his starting 11, having played 6 games in a very short period of time vs excellent competition & mostly in the sweltering heat, were getting fatigued. Congrats to Argentina, as they are the best in the world; but Canada was still a lot better than what this panel said Canada played them hard & they can proudly say that it took Argentina's best effort to defeat Canada. Great job lads!!!
It's funny to hear the Davies takes, cause I think most Canadian fans are pretty happy with him in this tournament. These are in complete contrast. We needed him to play a role for once, not try to do it all himself, focus on the defensive side of things and form a quality back line, and we conceded 1 goal in the three games we had a chance in. Could not have gone much better.
I can’t listen to these guys 😂 speculating what’s going on in his head? He’s a professional and he’s their captain, I imagine his heads in the tournament. I think the reason he wasn’t as.. spectacular if you will is because the relationship with his wingers wasn’t great. I don’t think they instilled confidence that he could overlap and get the ball from them. Also, the rrrreeal madrrrid. My god 😂
