  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

    Thanks for your knowlege, very torn over using the gilding wax or new dixie bell mouse. You make both techniques look easy, merry xmas to all of you.

      I'd say I use gilding wax more frequently than mousse

    When using the DB gilding wax, seal the surface first and then add the gilding wax? Or do you seal after?
    Also, do you need to seal after applying to hardware?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  3 года назад

      You could apply either before of after clear on the body. Sealing on hardware is optional as well

    When using gilding wax on very precise edges, do you still find the stencil brush the best option? I have been working on smaller table top pieces and using my finger I get smudges where I did not want wax and the wax has been gunking up my regular detail brushes quite terribly. I love the effect, but the application has been troubling thus far. You just make it look so easy, I must be doing something wrong.

      Fingers and get messy. I buy cheap artists brushes that I don't worry about gunking up as well

    How do you clean the stencil after using gilding wax?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  3 года назад

      Can use dawn dish soap, mineral spirits, or even big mommas butta to wipe the wax away
