I followed similar path. Play a mini driver. 7 wood 5 hybrid. TSR1. Then. 6-48. T-350. 7 wood is amazing. I tried 9 wood. Too inconsistent. For me. Either really good or really bad. I need consistent. So the hybrid is it. 60 years old. Slow swing speed 12 handicap, playing best golf of my life on 38 years. I even tried 11 wood. Same problem as 9 wood. Great video. It’s all about results baby. Rock on!!
Ping g430 7 wood is my favorite in the bag. High and straight or hit a low cut...great club and easy to hit. I tried the 9 wood but looking down at it felt weird, lol. Went with a 5 hybrid in its place.
Have both in the bag, both 22*. 7W is used off the tee and in fairway, sometimes low cut rough. Hybrid is used in rough, downhill lies, punchouts and sometimes just as a confident shot when needed.
I game a Callaway 5 wood and an Eleven 6 hybrid and an Eleven 7 Hybrid. My Arccos tracker has the 5 wood in a range of 220-237. The Eleven 6 Hybrid range is 192 to 201 and the 7 hybrid is 180-191. They all have a useful purpose.
When I was younger I had a nine wood, love the club to go at pins, differently give it a try. At 73 I went to hybrids, 5 to 8 by xxio, help my game alot. My advice to all players, find out what works for you.
I use fairway woods at the top end. I tend to pull the lower lofted hybrids. I am 70 yrs old and have used woods or maybe their called hybrids for over 20 years. Their Snake Eyes. 34° 31° 27° 23° 19° . Took out the 19° pulled it left. Got a 7 wood. Took out the 3 wood put in a 5 wood. Then Driver.
Thanks for sharing your club setup, @gordonmckay914! It's helpful for other golfers to see how someone with 20+ years of experience fine-tunes their bag.
7 wood is my favorite club in the bag, but I'm going through some things so actually planning to order a 3 hybrid tomorrow. I'm not and cold with the woods
My 4 and 5 hybrids like to head straight for the green before taking a last second left turn, usually when least expected. Just got a 9 wood and it might replace both if I can more reliably get it up a tad higher from the deck when needed. No 7 wood for the moment, as the Cleveland HyWood fills that role quite closely. (There's a review suggestion for ya, btw.) And...gee, I wish I could hit it as far as you guys.
Hit the Callaway Super Hybrid best of both worlds. I ditched my 3 wood and driving iron for a 17 and 20 degree OG Super Hybrid with Tensei Orange Pro shafts. Got them set at 16 and 21 degrees. Ridiculous clubs
I’m not sure if it’s PTSD from trying to hit my 3 wood out of the rough, but hitting fw from anything other than the fairway unless it’s sitting well up makes me VERY nervous
@embersgolf it's a joke, but there was a moment in the video where he's standing a certain way, and it looks like he was about to go off on an umpire. Lol.
New subscriber, you two blokes are so damn likeable. Good vid, common question. I figure just hit what you're most confident with that day. 'Nuff said.
Okay fellas Next year...2025 I'm gonna head to Denver (I live in Omaha) to get fit in person. I love your honesty and that you aren't "Sponsored" but you did this video and it got me thinking. Hybrid vs 7 Wood....Brilliant. Now a bit of "tradecraft" 30 years ago I fit people and made clubs for a couple years as a hobby but made a couple bucks. I'm gonna skip "My Drama" but i need new clubs and will get next spring. Before getting sick I was gaming Maveriks. QUESTION ( and I'm gonna reach out to Grant/Rick/Matt and Pete) Why switch "hardware" if "software" isn't right? If you follow, should I have lessons and get my swing fixed 1st before dropping a duece for new weapons??? Please Advise Thanks Tom Truscott

I like your style!

My 7 wood is a left miss machine but do like the softer landing I get if I do hit the green. Recently put a 3 hybrid back in the bag
I play a 7 and 5 Wood love it
Love my 3 wood off the tee for holes driver is too long for, but off the deck 3 hybrid all day (225y).

Love the crushers swag! Bryson!

Might change my 2 hybrid and 4 hybrid to a 7 and 9 wood
Now I plan on getting a 7 wood and 9 wood, do online orders?
7 wood mafia 🍻
i’m gaming driver/3w/5w/4hybrid than 5 iron, etc. That gives me the best gapping
Looking to replace a 4i from an older set. I have Dr, 5w, 3h now. Would it make sense to do 9w as 4i replacement?
New video. Head to head round with a bag of fairway woods on simulator. 9 hole or 18 hole match
I freaking love your channel, but Trevor sometimes postures like a guy who would fight the ump at a little league game.
What do you mean?
@embersgolf it's a joke, but there was a moment in the video where he's standing a certain way, and it looks like he was about to go off on an umpire. Lol.
Sequence starts at 11:34 . Watch with no sound, looks like he's about to get into it lol. @embersgolf
PXG guys that wear orange pants? Let's party!
Sick Crushers shirt bro… lol
Good Good Merch = not valid extra cringe
Hybrids are for the LPGA.

Fairway wood all day. The hybrids have a 🦆🪝written all over it for me. Have a gap from 4i to my 3 wood.
