The most frustrating thing working as a graphic designer in a business that creates new businesses super fast (definitely quantity over quality over here) is that they don’t want to do any of these things. Even if I explain it to them, AS THE DESIGNER. They just want a logo without any research ASAP and want to incorporate icons that would not make them stand out. Even logo suites dont make sense to them…everything is just backwards, so this is refreshing to watch. just hurts my soul to have to do it their way and throw up my hands
I've been there! I used to work for a business that owned a bunch of holiday resort places and it was the exact same thing, it's so frustrating, even more so when they ask you do to something and expect it to be done in 15 minutes because they think graphic design is just drawing.
@@abiconnick right? it’s so infuriating! they forget there is an art to design and a process that needs to be followed. It’s not as simple as whipping something up in 15 minutes. 🫠 hoping to get out of this soon.
I’m currently working on a logo for a media company that has a 6 word name. Is a radio station, uplifts the community, organizes community events, really grassroots. I’m like 😵💫 and the name is tied to the landscape and city 🤣. Hardest thing to design ever 🤣.
I really liked the video, I was just waiting for the "or you can ask your followers to create it without any basis" which reminded me of a scene from the series Silicon Valey where the billionaire asks the team to create his signature 😂
thank you ! 1st:- You have also made a video on the topic:- that if we download a paid font for free and use it in the design of a client and give it to him, we do not have a license, then there will be no issue or there will be no problem. 2nd:- If we download FREE (premium icons, illustrations from freepik,) that is, we do not have a subscription or license, then will there be any issue if it is used in the client's project?
You must add in the contract that the customer must pay licensing fees for fonts and other things،It is best for you not to use a free paid font because you may use it without knowing it and get into unnecessary problems As for icons, you can check whether they are suitable for free commercial use or not
Now when I design a logo I tick this fundamental of logo for understand my logo should in this criteria..😊😊 thanks for this video..🙌🙌 And pls make video on font licencing..😅😅
This video lecture was highly insightful. Learnt and noted down all the 6 fundamentals of logo design. Thank you so much Abi! I truly appreciate your effortless teaching skill. Hoping I would soon be able to design and create some awesome stuffs, just like you. Thank you so much again. Looking forward to learning more from you. 🎉☺️
So is it supposed to be weird this video came out today, on my birthday 🤤 And also, i managed to predict exactly all laws before you said the words, just from the explanations 😅😅 Choo choooo.... Keep going Abi 😁 we love you (Not as in love love, but love sha 😸😅)
Try to do your videos in a more horizontal screen. Maybe yoi could use a different position set, or a wider zoom. I would like Fox Network to use just the O as its logo, or even the klieg lights, while Fiat could use the four/five slashes of old cars.
Hi designers, I have a question for you! Which design projects are frequently requested in your countries? For instance, are popular industry projects in the UK or US related to areas like jewellery, clothing, food, tech brands, menus, and restaurants? Is it different for different places?
Hello Abi! I really loved your videos thank you so much for helping us! Want to ask what is the device that you are using for design, I’m already using MacBook Air.
Sometimes these laws doesn't make any sense same in case of Twitter, Tell me one thing if the logo of twitter have had not changed by elon musk barely anyone noticed that it is acquired by elon musk but now due to Something different everyone is talking about logo it is bad good or whatever atleast it gets attention 😅 of more people.
Abi I've got problem with my designs , its been months of me watch your and other RUclipsrs tutorials and learning those sort of theorys and i even wrote long journal of things that i learned , but when it's time to sketch and make something just by myself its really not what I expect from myself, could you tell me to do?
This is part of the journey, i went through the exact same phase, watch this video: ruclips.net/video/91FQKciKfHI/видео.html its a common thing a lot of creatives face in the beginning stages of their journey
Hey when you gonna make video on full brand design and also on research phase and mood board and how this research we do for any brand use in making that brand you understand this plz make a video on this by the love the skyrocket one video ❤️
I want to say, like we do research for any brand, but how will this research help the brand? What information do we gather in conducting research, and how do we apply that information to the brand?
Your videos have definitely helped me understand the importance of doing your research in your client's competitors and niche, so that their logo is meaningful. However, it is STILL very difficult to come up with concepts, but I guess this comes with time and experience. Thanks so much for this video, Abi!
That's ok! We all start differently. I use Adobe Illustrator to design logo's. Other people may use Figma or Affinity. Have a look into them and see which one works best for you :)

Could you please make a video of ‘How to get clients outside of the marketplaces’? It would be very helpful.
Yes of course! - but the quick answer is social media

How's called the webpage that you use to write down all the information you've previously investigated ?
What kind of editing program do you use?
I truly feel you are the best mentor for anyone eager to delve into the world of brand design.❤

The way ppl in the UK pronounce “Nike” always bugs me.
The way ppl in the US pronounce 'aluminium' always bugs me
Love from Pakistan ❤
Hey Abi, How to really translate the brand strategies into a logo ?
You must have read my mind, filming a video on this next week!
Paint is the ONLY way
Glad someone's mentioned it in the comments 😂
Do you think Premier League clubs could follow the style of MLB club logos?
In terms of simplifying them? If so, i think they already have started too!
@@abiconnick Not a massive fan of the cirlce thing though. Its too generic

Best of luck with it all!! Hope you have fun :)
how old are you
hate to be this guy, but its NikEEEEE
gotta pronounce the E
love the video btw
It irked my soul that you kept saying nik because it's an American company and we pronounce Nike "nye-kee"
how would you pronounce the word 'Spike'? 👀
ikr it's definitely nye-kee 😅 i love her but yea we pronounce it differently in america!
It's 100% supposed to be pronounced "nye-kee".
And how do you pronounce Bike in America? Bye-kee?
@@hristenaaleksova2008 Google it. The UK has been pronouncing Nike wrong since the 70s. It's confirmed by the company as "nye-kee".
Will you marry me? lol great job.
