Never get tired of these reactions of Blind Guardian at Wacken, you are seeing real legends of power metal, one of the best bands and one of the best voices. This crowd know what they are witnessing
And one of the best live bands.
This is why Blind Guardian is called the kings of the crowd. The best and most influencial Band in speed and Power Metal, and one of the best Rock-Singers alltime. I love them.
ya gotta love a 82,000 person sing along l love how much the crowd's singin warms hansi kursch's heart
Yes!!!! This is such an awesome video. The crowd is incredible. I could only imagine how the band must have felt hearing the entire crowd singing their songs. I guess the look on Hansi's face says it all. It gives me chills every time I watch it. Thanks for the shout-out. Cheers! PS...I hope that you don't have a slipped disc in your neck. That would suck!
I hope not, it hurts for sure.
These guys have been killing it since 1987. Arguably the founding fathers of speed and power metal. Granted I realize there are other contenders such as Helloween. Regardless, Blind Guardian are well worth exploring.
Their early demos and first album are heavily influenced by Helloween's Walls of Jericho, so I'd give that title to Helloween, but the found their own style over the next few albums.
One thing you'll find out about Blind Guardian if you keep listening to them, is that their crowds are always amazing like that, no matter what size venue they're playing at. I suggest you check out stuff from their "Imaginations Through the Looking Glass" concert. It's a little bit older at this point, but really the best live you'll be able to find of them. Also, since you love Nightwish, I suggest some of Blind Guardian's more longer/epic tracks, such as "And Then There Was Silence" and "Wheel of Time". I think you'll be able to hear the similarities, while also appreciating how unique to themselves both bands are. :)
thank you...
Imaginations through the looking glass is one of the best concerts ever imo. Pretty much on the same level as Wacken 2013 for Nightwish
@@meganega123 And some of the oldest videos on youtube ^^
ITs Goosebump time standing in the crowd during the Bardsong and singing along - i have done it more then once ... love it ...hope covid 19 is gone soon so i can see them live again ...
Love Blind Guardian! Own all the remastered CDs and their live DVD. The version of Vahalla on the live DVD is amazing where the crowd just keeps on singing and won't let the song end.
The only band that helps the audience when they are singing.
I have been there, will never ever forget it.
I can' believe that. Today I start to see reactions of this song, and today you put it on! THANK YOU!!!
You are welcome. You ask and you receive. lol
That's an insight into the metal fraternity.
We are passionate about the craft.
Being there live is one of my best experiences in Life --- Sound quality ... your in Wacken ...
Only in Europe :) Music brings us together & we enjoy till we end up to the valhalla \m/
Yeah Wacken is a huge festival for around 80000? People and it's in a little village right in the German countryside. You just have to be there it's just phenomenal
l love the bard's song !!! transporting me to another time
loved the reaction, tnx olly.
i remeber this Show, it was great... Blind Guardian is awesome. btw, Valhalla was on the Album "Follow the Blind" from 1989 and The Bards Song was on the Album "Somewhere far Beyond" from 1992. So both songs are oldies :D
one hell of a great band...i love em every way...i was lucky as i met em personally in 2007-8 tour in London..i have been working at crew who take care of stage equip..so i spend lots of time with band..ohh what a great guys they are...
when playing lord of the rings online, i played everythime the bard song on my lute in the tavern ^^
Mirror mirror Studio Version, And the story ends, Sacred, Bright eyes
YOU are a true viking ..... geetings from a German brother!!!!!!
Just found your channel from this vid and subscribed. Keep up the good work! I'd recommend a song by Demons & Wizards called "Fiddler on the Green". Also thumbs up on skyrim reference
7:45 made me lol... Dude, you're about to do Blind Guardian's Valhalla...
Let's face it, a BG gig where the audience lets Hansi sing either of these on his own is against the laws of physics.
I was there! ;-) That was a fun experience, even if i didn't know the lyrics... I'm not that much of a Blind Guardian fan (yet), mostly know Hansi Kürsch from his work with Ayreon - absolutely love what he's doing there. If someone can suggest some more good songs from them, please do! ;-)
start with the entire imaginations from the other side and nightfall in middle earth albums, branch out from there!
True bards of epic, power metal, they've been my favorite band for years. I strongly suggest you dig deeper with them, and if you are going with live performance, Imaginations through the looking glass is the best concert to go to.
André Olbrich is one of the 100 best guitarists in the world, he is the one with the red guitar
You may also wish to check out Xandria--Forevermore. Symphonic Metal, Female Lead, been around for quite awhile.
*nightfall* is my favourite of them. It's epic
When you notice that Valhalla is sung for hours on end you were on Wacken.
Blind Guardian are making music for more then 30 yrs by now... so they influenced many people ;)
Need to react to some more blind guardian!
Mirror mirror
Nightfall
Mordred song
Bright eyes
Lord of the rings
Time stands still at the iron hill
Fly
Turn the page
Skalds and shadows
To name a few!
Blind Guardian and Nightwish the best two metal bands!!
You should check out more of Blind Guardian's discography. They have a lot of great music. Nightfall In Middle Earth in particular is a fantastic album. I find the new album a bit boring...it sounds like a movie soundtrack and had no guitars or drums...I was disappointed :( It's more of a Hansi solo album. Did you know that Hansi has done some vocals for Ayreon as well? Cheers!
I want just tell that their new album was told from the beginning to be orchestral. In fact they didn't release it as ,,Blind Guardian" but as ,,Blind Guardian's Twilight Orchestra" which can tell you that this is not an normal album. Tbh just Hansi and Andre wrote most of its songs. I would say that this was kind of special album because they were making it over a decade (I personaly love it). Their next ,,normal" album is planned on 2020/2021
@@DanioPL1232 Thanks for the info. I can't wait for the next "normal" BG album. Cheers!
@@Mike_Judas_Priest_Kalsek i havent had a chance to check out the orchestral album but i plan on it. im still waiting for the dragonlance concept album they talked about YEARS ago. i dont think we'll ever get it =(
BG = Badass
Wacken open air fits a crowd of around 75,000 in total. :P
Cool crowd. 😮 Music is good. I love medieval stuff. But still, I don’t know. I think I’d need Floor to sing it or something. 😀
Hope you will get better soon and it’s nothing too serious. I thought I saw something being ”off” earlier. 🤔
Gerald Butler, is it you? 🤔
great choice Olly and they have generations following them as they have been around since the 1980's so when you are playing for decades you will get a wide range of ages as younger people "discover" you. Great reaction and you saw why this band is so beloved with the contrast between the songs. How about the Wacken crowd they actually sounded great singing on both tracks, Wacken is magic and the bands bring their A+game because of the crowd!!
Hey speaking of guitar players who grab you try the teens from Japan, Asterism who blend Metal, Hard Rock and Jazz into a fusion of great instrumental experiences (no vocals). Try Rising Moon (ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html), Haruka the female guitar player is 15 in the video while the bassist is 16 and the drummer 19. Haruka has that Hendrix vibe and when she has that ax in her hand and steps on stage she is a force of nature, while they are all gifted she was born to be a rock star!!!
I was there for this concert! Just sayin ;) not bragging ;) Seen them a few times by now.
I didn't have all the lyrics memorised for The Bard Song as all the Germans around me :) Amazing atmosphere though. Those two songs are classics. You already heard the singer Hansi in Ayreon - The Day That The Earth Breaks Down (albeit briefly).
Yes I have, I really love the second song. very cool.
Bard song- best song of all time
Moscow are not dead
I recommend another band to you.... Van Canto. They do Acapella Metal... and yes, it works...
Ill give you 3 examples:
Wishmaster (Nightwish Cover and for the memes)
ruclips.net/video/XCGQiGEYl4Y/видео.html
If i die in battle
ruclips.net/video/-f8V1QSf7yg/видео.html (cause im part of the video *lol*)
And at least, in my opinion, one of their best songs
ruclips.net/video/IvajtyyAN-s/видео.html
This is "Nothing Else Matters" in German language :-))
the lyrics aren't German... :D
You should possibly get a bit away from the camera. Good job otherwise btw.
Thank you so much for the feed back, i have a new set up now. Other videos gives that a better look. Totally agree.
