11:08 lol i like ryobi, but i wouldn't hang batteries on the wall, especially if you have 64+ 18v batteries. i would have to much on the wall at that point.😂
Safety Green is my Favorite color. You need to install a piece of furring or a shim to the back of the cabinet so it hangs plumb, the doors wouldn't swing open.
What I'd really love to see is someone come out with a tool cart/chest like for mechanics tools, but with drawers designed around woodworking tools. They're great for thin tools, but none seem very efficient for routers, jig saws, circular saws, planes, things like that.
I use the nine drawer Yukon carts from Harbor Freight. They're pretty inexpensive with a wood top. The two bottom drawers work fine for bigger tools like circular saws and routers. I know they're not as small as the tool carts but I've been impressed with mine.
@@sociopathmercenary I have one too and I'm also impressed by the quality vs the price. Downside is it's a pretty big cart and it was years before I had the space for one. I'd love to see something like the smaller cart/chest combos that keep the thinner drawers on top for things like a few wrenches, screwdrivers, bits, etc and then have larger drawers on the bottom for the big tools. Extra points if they have vertical storage for things like hand saws and such.
I've just started ordering Ryobi wall kit, I intend to create all my tools with Ryobi Brushless tools.. just subscribed to your channel the other day, also looking at getting them storage boxes too. At the moment I've managed to order the latest models that have just come out or on there way... Looking forward to the man cave... Great info on all the Ryobi gear 😉👍
I have about 40 Ryobi tools, some of which are the old blue and black ones, and I have not had one burnout yet. A drill and vacuum cleaner are two that I have used about twice a week for over thirty years, and they are still going strong.
My dad use to own a construction business I worked for him on and off we built homes from bare land to move in ready using almost exclusively ryobi tools and I always laugh when people say ryobi tools are junk, he still has ever ryobi he ever used and I also have ryobi tools for the little wood working I do and working on cars as well. Love their tools
Started with the Milwaukee wall plates but quickly switched to the Ryobi system. The milwaukee plates are big and hanging tools cover the rest of the slots making them unusable. The Ryobi system allows for the plates to be stacked if you want but I like that I can spread them out so that when I hang a tool, it is not covering up and wasting bracket space.
I don't have the wall organizer system but I do have the toolbox with some extra accessory boxes and the open crate top. Absolutely love it as a mobile base for DIY
You did not install the rail correctly that has the tool organizer on it. The holes you used are if you want to screw attachments in for additional support. You should use the holes along the outer four corners of the rail and the top/bottom of the middle. That’s how you get the weight capacity.
I have been in the Ryobi universe for 20 years now. Earlier this year, my wife bought me 3 of the medium pack out boxes at the Direct Tool Store. I use them in my company van to store parts and small equipment. The boxes are very solid, the locks are robust and very tight and the locking system is no joke. Best part was that the 3 boxes cost lest than $100 before tax, on sale when we got them. Still, for $44, it is a good buy. Check them out, you might be pleasantly suprised.
I'm a Ryobi guy, but last year I needed several "packout" boxes to transport a lot of tools and gear. I first got the Ryobi Link boxes. While I liked the bigger size, they just seemed a bit flimsy to me. I took them back and got the Rigid boxes. While they are limited in options, these boxes are much stronger and my stuff seems to be much more secure.
I have four of the lockable tool organizer cabinets, link rails, hooks, and a ton of the storage boxes. My garage is so organized, and it just looks GOOD!👌🏾💯
As a cabinet installer, if you’re not installing on a flat and solid level wall you will see the doors wouldn’t lineup due to you installing on pvc siding.
I have the ryobi set of storage boxes and I like them but when Ridget came out with the 2.0 set I got that. I think it is so much better. You can also remove the wheel base from it so storing under a tonneau cover is easy. Great video!
I think you slightly undersold the wall storage shelves. To start with, while they only have four slots on the bottom, those slots are deep enough that many tool will allow enough room to put two tools in each slot. And if you do go with the one with the door, it has peg board holes on each side which is great for storage of blades, sandpaper and other supplies for the tools.
I don't have either system, so I can't compare them. I do like the Ryobi green, but there's nothing wrong with red. For me, it would come down to price, and I'm guessing red costs more than green. That alone would make my mind up for me. Buy what you want or make your own. It doesn't matter. Thanks for reviewing Ryobi, Matt. I appreciate it! 😃😃😃❤❤❤
I use the stacking tool boxes in mt trailer for the motorcycle. It allows me to organize all the stuff for the trailer and the bike tie downs. Love my Ryobi
It's all about the motors. Ryobi and other cheap brands have the reputation of putting low-quality motors in their tools. They burn out under stress, and don't last as long as Milwaukee and other top brands. Many RUclips videos show this deficiency. When the situation changes, I'll be happy to watch the videos of that improvement. Meanwhile, the best snowblower I ever had was a used Ryobi 9.5 hp. Threw wet snow 20 feet. Loved it!
lol 😂 yeah my cheap Ryobi weed eater has surprisingly survived 8 years of abuse, just counting the days intill it die and I can justify buying the battery version 😅
Thanks for covering some of the Link system! I was curious about it last time I was at the store and thought the wall-hanging stuff (hooks, wall mounts) looked clever. Agree that the cabinet looks a bit flimsy. But the others stuff looks nice.
It's a good system but I feel like they're getting up there in price. $170 for the wall cabinet of that quality is steep. I recently outfitted a little garage setup with the husky "ready to assemble" line and I only paid $107ea for some 28"x30" upper cabinets. They're not too bad but the wall wasn't flawless so I had one of them torque just enough to throw the doors off like yours. I just put a small washer in the hinge pins to raise the door so they lined up. It worked great and you can't even see the washers.
Next up...Porter Cable platform. Have had mine for 5 years- same batteries, drill, driver, 18 ga. nailer, reciprocating saw, utility tool. PLENTY of space left on the ceiling 🙂
I own 3 of the wall cabinets that are mounted to studs along with 24 of the link wall rails holding a large number of my Ryobi tools. It's a great system, but is pricey with the setup I have.

A few years back I needed the rolling tool boxes and was at my Home Depot looking at several. I own a lot of Ryobi so I asked the rep if Ryobi was coming out with anything like it soon. He told me no. I ended up buying the Ridgid ones. Less than a year later they came out with them. I'm happy with the Ridgid but passed that the rep didn't know his stuff.
I’m a Ryobi guy and my son is solid DeWalt. My belief is I live in a free market system and belief in competition. It makes companies continually inventing new and better products. Milwaukee and Ryobi are stepping up their game, so what’s holding you back DeWalt, Bosch, Craftsman?????
Ryobi has kept their foot on the gas pedal as far as the amount of products and their 40v outdoor power tools. I believe what has allowed them to do so is that they have a very large base of buyers. There are a lot more home users and hobbyist than there are professional workers. Their brushless line is quite good. Miter saws and table saws are so-so. Will TTI allow Ryobi to compete with Milwaukee and Ridgid being that Ryobi is at a lower price point?
I have the Ryobi link for hanging garden tools, rakes, shovels, brooms, etc. It works pretty good. i have french cleats for my woodworking tools and accessories.
Looks nice, but I'm with you on the doors, as the thin metal would bug me. No, heavier gauge doors aren't really necessary for this, but they give you the feeling of quality where those thin doors would make it feel cheaply made. Perception is reality.
I wish one of these companies would figure out wall mounts that can be horizontal or vertical but still tesselate either way, without being a plate. Plates are fine, they just take up a lot of packaging and space, that's why rails are better. Ryobi's horizontal rails are fine, and they nest into each other horizontally and vertically, but it's just not a good solution for vertical mounting. The main reason I want this is for wide but short pieces, just mount them between two vertical rails so that they remain square, then have a horizontal rail for parts that need more hold like the cabinets, and having a system that can tesselate in both directions means that they're kept in square no matter what, whereas the nesting system can allow for alignment errors; the combination of horizontal and vertical rails would also act as plates, but in smaller parts that take up less space and less packaging, and in the case of tall objects like cabinets you not only get more hold from a horizontal rail but you'd also get bottom mounts rather than feet towards the base of the cabinet. Though, with Ryobi's design specifically, I'm not sure I like the hexagonal mounts, especially when they're this large. I also wish these companies would figure out a better ecosystem, outside of just box stacking and wall mounts, give us something that also readily applies to tool carts and workstations, adapt the system to where these two other areas also have proper products for their categories that the toolbox and wall storage categories can benefit from.
I see the holes on the sides of the cabinets but I cannot find anywhere what it states them are for or if they take any kind of hooks. If so then maybe move it over so it's all the way on the wall Link panel and add a hook to the side for the dust collection hose? Otherwise fabricate something using those holes with the 3d Printer to hold the hose? Otherwise looks like some neat stuff!!
Was wondering if they were decent or not. Nice to know. Many years in picking up car parts, and the same for food service. So many things of the same type are often made in the same factory. I'd pick up parts/food for a brand, and lined up in rows next to my load were row after row of competing brands. All made in the same factory. Mercedes, BMW, Ford etc, a bunch of them all made in the same place. Though, as it was explained to me, the specs, tolerances and QC levels varied based on the customers' requirements.
I’ve mentioned this once before. I’m a big Ryobi fan and all of my cordless tools are Ryobi, I don’t like the cabinets and packout boxes, they are just not user friendly. That’s just me spouting off. 😉
Have you looked into the hart stacked system I have been using mine since February great for a beginner or on a budget. Starter set you get 3 boxes under $100 and add on boxes any where from $13 to $40
I haven't bothered with the rails. Imo link is somewhat overpriced, so I wait for deals. I have the open tool shelf for my charging station. I have a Makita dual charger and 2 p118b on the bottom and store the batteries on the top shelf. I want to get the battery holders though. I initially tried the medium box in my trunk, but switched to a standard and crate combo. Chocks and tools in the box; fluids, grease and anti seize in the crate. I found the 6 compartment small parts organizer on sale for $25, so with the military discount dropping it to $22.50, I figured I'd find a use for it. Debating whether to get into the hooks for my OPE stuff.
(Silly question but) Hey can I have the battery tool shelf hang on a wall thingamajig? I dont have anything by Ryobi, and that shelf would be cool and I wouldnt have to make one for myself and save me a bit of time and money. lol But keep up the great work and great videos though! :)
Could you suggest woodpecker tools that’s must have for beginners in woodworkers interested in doing mortise tendons and furniture, cabinets and stuff like that
I don't like the top connection system because its not level(it has voids and is not a flat top), I like a flat surface in case I sit something on it like a drink or phone, need to write or draw something out etc... I prefer a flat top with maybe a slide it latch (hanger)at the back or sides and a latch on the sides or front of some kind.
You keep mentioning that ryobi and Milwaukee are both owned by TTI. You even mentioned they’re coming out of the same factory(maybe) but just wanted to mentioned owned by the same company doesn’t mean they’re manufactured by the same company or even that they’re using the same materials if they are in the same factory. In my career field, industrial maintenance engineering, I’ve seen Dewalt, Rigid, Paslode, etc; all fail where Milwaukee powers through. This is for hand/power tools. There’s no reason to believe they’re modular tool boxes would be any different. The only exception being Knipex hand tools. Knipex is amazing.
It’s adult Lego that’s something I can do I’ll need to find out if available in the U.K. on the Milwaukee and Ryobi chargers do dewalt do something like that. I’m in U.K. but been looking online not found anything as yet over here

Honestly, every time I see pack out containers come from any other tool company it's just weird that they will literally create the weirdest shapes possible with the worst connectors ever just to have something specific to them. Just get the same containers Festool uses, they're great and don't cost an arm and leg if you buy them from the company that Festool gets directly. Make them your own color and branding. It should definitely become a standardized systainer system.
Are you related to Tim the Tool Man? I think the Ryobi storage system is designed for the home DIY person who doesn't have the kind of equipment you have. That wall cabinet seemed flimsy for the tools you put in it. As I "upgraded" from some of my wired power tools and gas powered yard tools, I started with Ryobi. My first was a 24 volt line trimmer on sale at a very attractive price with two batteries. That solved a problem with a heavy noisy gas trimmer with fumes. I wore out the motor in about 9 years and got a replacement for $20. A few years later Ryobi had another enticing deal on the one + 18 volt trimmer. That made more sense to me instead of paying $100 for a third party 24 volt battery. So that began my migration to the 18 volt system for some tools, but not all. My corded tools were high quality, but decent battery power meant I didn't have to stretch out electric cords across the yard. I manage to catch everything I want on promotions that give either a free tool or free batteries. I am an advanced DIY so don't need the expensive pro tools. I have not purchased any Ryobi storage items but I can see they meet a need in the homeowner market. But Tim the Tool Man wondering if Binford has thought of this.
It is hard for me to buy storage cabinets because they are just boxes with shelves. I have mine on French cleats. And for small storage… I don’t buy much from Harbor freight but they have a black and yellow case for under $10. I bought several have 1 for bolts and nuts. 1 for screws. 1 for electrical. You get the idea. I built a small shelf unit on wheels just for these cases. HF # 5111.
Aww... Chartreuse/lime green is one of my favorite colors! Right up there with safety orange. Seriously though... I actually like the bright colors because it doesn't blend into anything so I can always spot my tools with a quick glance around the garage or room
I have alot of Ryobi tools, Rigid too. Ive looked at the Ryobi system and it does look good. But, my most hated thing about ryobi is the color is HORRIBLE. I have to look at puke green when Im using my tools, and theres enough of it in my shop too. I wish they would do some runs in the old school Ryobi Blue. I think some of these storage systems get overrated, I get it if your a contractor going site to site....maybe. So I have a wood workshop and do car stuff. I dont get burying my tools in stacked boxes. Now your omni wall is pretty cool looking, better than the cordless companies wall stuff. I built alot of the tool storage you bought, it was fun, I got to use my tools, and was like $10 of Plywood. Car Guy wise, tell you what I see guys struggling to lug their Milwaukee puckouts through junkyards. I set up 3 book bags of cartools I leave in my car now. One is all my basic hand tools and a impact, I can carry that around on my back fine in the junkyard. The other two have big boy tools if I need them, my local junk yard has wheel barrows you can use that roll alot better than a pack out, and can carry parts too.
I wanted to like their boxes, but they waste way too much space with their locking system. The medium box isnt tall enough for a circular saw and the small box isnt tall enough for smaller Cordless tools. If i remember correctly, there is at least 2in of lost storage depth due to their base and lid locking design. They now sit empty in the shop.
I don't like Ryobi color. Milwaukee red is best. But I mostly buy Dewalt because it's not as price protected and you can find great deals. Still have some Milwaukee tho.
LOL, the only reason I would not purchase these is specifically because of the color. I do not like the color green. Oh well, it could always be painted :)
Everyone’s gotta live with themselves… that said it just seems to me that consumption and consumerism are OUT OF CONTROL. Everyone seems to have some crazy justification or flat out lie. Just crazy!
Ryobi has old batteries that fit all 18v tools. Other brands change their batteries almost every year. I hate having to buy batteries every year for new tools, 18v ryobi tools all use the same batteries, i will never buy any other brand because of that.
There's some cool stuff there but I'm definitely "some people" that color is just a deal breaker for me around my old school tools and red/black/silver aesthetic. Seeing that color next to my grandpas hand planers makes me cringe.
I actually like the green but I get it. Then again, I did paint my office safety orange. 😂 I like the bright colors cuz they help me keep track of the tools.
I know it sounds shallow but i just could never go with the Ryobi ecosystem solely because of their hideous color 🤮. My favorite colors are black and red so Milwaukee works well and looks good. I have the old blue Ryobi which i love, I've had a benchtop belt sander for 20 years.
I honestly feel like Ryobi would be so much more respected if it wasn’t for the little kid color scheme. (I know a lot of there cordless tools are shit) Im aware it sounds ridiculous but the color is hideous. All my old ryobi stuff is this dark navy blue and that color would be so nice in all these modular components. Maybe that’s just me.
I get it. I actually like the green but I understand it isn't for everybody. I'm just doing DIY stuff so I care more about the price than the color. As far as the power tools, I have about 20 different tools and they've all done the job without any kind of failure. They aren't always the most compact or powerful but I just don't need more for what I'm doing.

I agree a choice of color would be nice and more appealing to more people. But my stupid eyes can find my bright green ryobi stuff so easily in my “organized chaos” mess that is my office and garage lol. It’s so good for ADHD people who set stuff down randomly and can’t find it again. Obviously very niche use lol but it works for me.

There's a lot of stuff that most people have pre-concieved notions about. For instance, I assume eating octopus would be gross. I don't want to travel to some countires because they are percieved as dangerous (or certain parts of the US for that matter). I don't care for most Harbor Freight tools, because I assume (maybe right, maybe wrong) they too, aren't that great. I'm sure you yourself have preconcived notions as well, for instance, you assume Ryobi cares what I have to say about their storage that I bought with my money, out of the millions of other people buying their stuff. 🤣

Use lateral file cabinets. Get them used for cheap.

I have about 40 Ryobi tools, some of which are the old blue and black ones, and I have not had one burnout yet. A drill and vacuum cleaner are two that I have used about twice a week for over thirty years, and they are still going strong.
I only wished I had join the club decades ago.
My dad use to own a construction business I worked for him on and off we built homes from bare land to move in ready using almost exclusively ryobi tools and I always laugh when people say ryobi tools are junk, he still has ever ryobi he ever used and I also have ryobi tools for the little wood working I do and working on cars as well. Love their tools
Started with the Milwaukee wall plates but quickly switched to the Ryobi system. The milwaukee plates are big and hanging tools cover the rest of the slots making them unusable. The Ryobi system allows for the plates to be stacked if you want but I like that I can spread them out so that when I hang a tool, it is not covering up and wasting bracket space.
I don't have the wall organizer system but I do have the toolbox with some extra accessory boxes and the open crate top. Absolutely love it as a mobile base for DIY
You did not install the rail correctly that has the tool organizer on it. The holes you used are if you want to screw attachments in for additional support. You should use the holes along the outer four corners of the rail and the top/bottom of the middle. That’s how you get the weight capacity.
I have been in the Ryobi universe for 20 years now. Earlier this year, my wife bought me 3 of the medium pack out boxes at the Direct Tool Store. I use them in my company van to store parts and small equipment. The boxes are very solid, the locks are robust and very tight and the locking system is no joke. Best part was that the 3 boxes cost lest than $100 before tax, on sale when we got them. Still, for $44, it is a good buy. Check them out, you might be pleasantly suprised.

I'm a Ryobi guy, but last year I needed several "packout" boxes to transport a lot of tools and gear. I first got the Ryobi Link boxes. While I liked the bigger size, they just seemed a bit flimsy to me. I took them back and got the Rigid boxes. While they are limited in options, these boxes are much stronger and my stuff seems to be much more secure.
I have four of the lockable tool organizer cabinets, link rails, hooks, and a ton of the storage boxes. My garage is so organized, and it just looks GOOD!👌🏾💯
As a cabinet installer, if you’re not installing on a flat and solid level wall you will see the doors wouldn’t lineup due to you installing on pvc siding.
I have the ryobi set of storage boxes and I like them but when Ridget came out with the 2.0 set I got that. I think it is so much better. You can also remove the wheel base from it so storing under a tonneau cover is easy. Great video!

I think you slightly undersold the wall storage shelves. To start with, while they only have four slots on the bottom, those slots are deep enough that many tool will allow enough room to put two tools in each slot. And if you do go with the one with the door, it has peg board holes on each side which is great for storage of blades, sandpaper and other supplies for the tools.
I don't have either system, so I can't compare them. I do like the Ryobi green, but there's nothing wrong with red. For me, it would come down to price, and I'm guessing red costs more than green. That alone would make my mind up for me. Buy what you want or make your own. It doesn't matter. Thanks for reviewing Ryobi, Matt. I appreciate it! 😃😃😃❤❤❤

I use the stacking tool boxes in mt trailer for the motorcycle. It allows me to organize all the stuff for the trailer and the bike tie downs. Love my Ryobi
It's all about the motors. Ryobi and other cheap brands have the reputation of putting low-quality motors in their tools. They burn out under stress, and don't last as long as Milwaukee and other top brands. Many RUclips videos show this deficiency. When the situation changes, I'll be happy to watch the videos of that improvement.
Meanwhile, the best snowblower I ever had was a used Ryobi 9.5 hp. Threw wet snow 20 feet. Loved it!
lol 😂 yeah my cheap Ryobi weed eater has surprisingly survived 8 years of abuse, just counting the days intill it die and I can justify buying the battery version 😅
I read recently that Ryobi and Milwaukee tools are owned by the same parent company. There's always hope they would start sharing the same battery.

You can square the cabinet doors yourself. Loosen some screws, make it square and tighten them down again.

It's a good system but I feel like they're getting up there in price. $170 for the wall cabinet of that quality is steep. I recently outfitted a little garage setup with the husky "ready to assemble" line and I only paid $107ea for some 28"x30" upper cabinets. They're not too bad but the wall wasn't flawless so I had one of them torque just enough to throw the doors off like yours. I just put a small washer in the hinge pins to raise the door so they lined up. It worked great and you can't even see the washers.
I always love a good Ryobi win!
Next up...Porter Cable platform. Have had mine for 5 years- same batteries, drill, driver, 18 ga. nailer, reciprocating saw, utility tool. PLENTY of space left on the ceiling 🙂
I own 3 of the wall cabinets that are mounted to studs along with 24 of the link wall rails holding a large number of my Ryobi tools. It's a great system, but
is pricey with the setup I have.

A few years back I needed the rolling tool boxes and was at my Home Depot looking at several. I own a lot of Ryobi so I asked the rep if Ryobi was coming out with anything like it soon. He told me no. I ended up buying the Ridgid ones. Less than a year later they came out with them. I'm happy with the Ridgid but passed that the rep didn't know his stuff.

I’m a Ryobi guy and my son is solid DeWalt. My belief is I live in a free market system and belief in competition. It makes companies continually inventing new and better products. Milwaukee and Ryobi are stepping up their game, so what’s holding you back DeWalt, Bosch, Craftsman?????
Ryobi has kept their foot on the gas pedal as far as the amount of products and their 40v outdoor power tools. I believe what has allowed them to do so is that they have a very large base of buyers. There are a lot more home users and hobbyist than there are professional workers. Their brushless line is quite good. Miter saws and table saws are so-so. Will TTI allow Ryobi to compete with Milwaukee and Ridgid being that Ryobi is at a lower price point?
I have the Ryobi link for hanging garden tools, rakes, shovels, brooms, etc. It works pretty good. i have french cleats for my woodworking tools and accessories.

Looks nice, but I'm with you on the doors, as the thin metal would bug me. No, heavier gauge doors aren't really necessary for this, but they give you the feeling of quality where those thin doors would make it feel cheaply made. Perception is reality.
I wish one of these companies would figure out wall mounts that can be horizontal or vertical but still tesselate either way, without being a plate. Plates are fine, they just take up a lot of packaging and space, that's why rails are better. Ryobi's horizontal rails are fine, and they nest into each other horizontally and vertically, but it's just not a good solution for vertical mounting. The main reason I want this is for wide but short pieces, just mount them between two vertical rails so that they remain square, then have a horizontal rail for parts that need more hold like the cabinets, and having a system that can tesselate in both directions means that they're kept in square no matter what, whereas the nesting system can allow for alignment errors; the combination of horizontal and vertical rails would also act as plates, but in smaller parts that take up less space and less packaging, and in the case of tall objects like cabinets you not only get more hold from a horizontal rail but you'd also get bottom mounts rather than feet towards the base of the cabinet. Though, with Ryobi's design specifically, I'm not sure I like the hexagonal mounts, especially when they're this large. I also wish these companies would figure out a better ecosystem, outside of just box stacking and wall mounts, give us something that also readily applies to tool carts and workstations, adapt the system to where these two other areas also have proper products for their categories that the toolbox and wall storage categories can benefit from.
I see the holes on the sides of the cabinets but I cannot find anywhere what it states them are for or if they take any kind of hooks. If so then maybe move it over so it's all the way on the wall Link panel and add a hook to the side for the dust collection hose? Otherwise fabricate something using those holes with the 3d Printer to hold the hose? Otherwise looks like some neat stuff!!
They make half rail attachments for the side of the cabinet. That is what the holes are for.

Many years in picking up car parts, and the same for food service. So many things of the same type are often made in the same factory. I'd pick up parts/food for a brand, and lined up in rows next to my load were row after row of competing brands. All made in the same factory. Mercedes, BMW, Ford etc, a bunch of them all made in the same place. Though, as it was explained to me, the specs, tolerances and QC levels varied based on the customers' requirements.
I’ve mentioned this once before. I’m a big Ryobi fan and all of my cordless tools are Ryobi, I don’t like the cabinets and packout boxes, they are just not user friendly. That’s just me spouting off. 😉

I have the open tool shelf for my charging station. I have a Makita dual charger and 2 p118b on the bottom and store the batteries on the top shelf. I want to get the battery holders though.
I initially tried the medium box in my trunk, but switched to a standard and crate combo. Chocks and tools in the box; fluids, grease and anti seize in the crate.
I found the 6 compartment small parts organizer on sale for $25, so with the military discount dropping it to $22.50, I figured I'd find a use for it.
Debating whether to get into the hooks for my OPE stuff.
(Silly question but) Hey can I have the battery tool shelf hang on a wall thingamajig? I dont have anything by Ryobi, and that shelf would be cool and I wouldnt have to make one for myself and save me a bit of time and money. lol

Could you suggest woodpecker tools that’s must have for beginners in woodworkers interested in doing mortise tendons and furniture, cabinets and stuff like that
I don't like the top connection system because its not level(it has voids and is not a flat top), I like a flat surface in case I sit something on it like a drink or phone, need to write or draw something out etc... I prefer a flat top with maybe a slide it latch (hanger)at the back or sides and a latch on the sides or front of some kind.
You keep mentioning that ryobi and Milwaukee are both owned by TTI. You even mentioned they’re coming out of the same factory(maybe) but just wanted to mentioned owned by the same company doesn’t mean they’re manufactured by the same company or even that they’re using the same materials if they are in the same factory. In my career field, industrial maintenance engineering, I’ve seen Dewalt, Rigid, Paslode, etc; all fail where Milwaukee powers through. This is for hand/power tools. There’s no reason to believe they’re modular tool boxes would be any different.
The only exception being Knipex hand tools. Knipex is amazing.
Not surprisingly since Ryobi and Milwaukee are both part of TTI.

Honestly, every time I see pack out containers come from any other tool company it's just weird that they will literally create the weirdest shapes possible with the worst connectors ever just to have something specific to them. Just get the same containers Festool uses, they're great and don't cost an arm and leg if you buy them from the company that Festool gets directly. Make them your own color and branding. It should definitely become a standardized systainer system.
Are you related to Tim the Tool Man? I think the Ryobi storage system is designed for the home DIY person who doesn't have the kind of equipment you have. That wall cabinet seemed flimsy for the tools you put in it. As I "upgraded" from some of my wired power tools and gas powered yard tools, I started with Ryobi. My first was a 24 volt line trimmer on sale at a very attractive price with two batteries. That solved a problem with a heavy noisy gas trimmer with fumes. I wore out the motor in about 9 years and got a replacement for $20. A few years later Ryobi had another enticing deal on the one + 18 volt trimmer. That made more sense to me instead of paying $100 for a third party 24 volt battery. So that began my migration to the 18 volt system for some tools, but not all. My corded tools were high quality, but decent battery power meant I didn't have to stretch out electric cords across the yard. I manage to catch everything I want on promotions that give either a free tool or free batteries. I am an advanced DIY so don't need the expensive pro tools. I have not purchased any Ryobi storage items but I can see they meet a need in the homeowner market. But Tim the Tool Man wondering if Binford has thought of this.

It is hard for me to buy storage cabinets because they are just boxes with shelves. I have mine on French cleats. And for small storage… I don’t buy much from Harbor freight but they have a black and yellow case for under $10. I bought several have 1 for bolts and nuts. 1 for screws. 1 for electrical. You get the idea. I built a small shelf unit on wheels just for these cases. HF # 5111.
The cabinet doors not lining up when closed is making me twitch...
They should have kept it all black then more people would have bought them, that green sends shivers down my spine.

I have alot of Ryobi tools, Rigid too. Ive looked at the Ryobi system and it does look good. But, my most hated thing about ryobi is the color is HORRIBLE. I have to look at puke green when Im using my tools, and theres enough of it in my shop too. I wish they would do some runs in the old school Ryobi Blue. I think some of these storage systems get overrated, I get it if your a contractor going site to site....maybe. So I have a wood workshop and do car stuff. I dont get burying my tools in stacked boxes. Now your omni wall is pretty cool looking, better than the cordless companies wall stuff. I built alot of the tool storage you bought, it was fun, I got to use my tools, and was like $10 of Plywood. Car Guy wise, tell you what I see guys struggling to lug their Milwaukee puckouts through junkyards. I set up 3 book bags of cartools I leave in my car now. One is all my basic hand tools and a impact, I can carry that around on my back fine in the junkyard. The other two have big boy tools if I need them, my local junk yard has wheel barrows you can use that roll alot better than a pack out, and can carry parts too.
My local HD stores don't carry most of the pieces of this system in store, probably because it's so overpriced nobody is buying it.
I wanted to like their boxes, but they waste way too much space with their locking system. The medium box isnt tall enough for a circular saw and the small box isnt tall enough for smaller Cordless tools. If i remember correctly, there is at least 2in of lost storage depth due to their base and lid locking design. They now sit empty in the shop.
I don't like Ryobi color. Milwaukee red is best. But I mostly buy Dewalt because it's not as price protected and you can find great deals. Still have some Milwaukee tho.

Ryobi has old batteries that fit all 18v tools. Other brands change their batteries almost every year. I hate having to buy batteries every year for new tools, 18v ryobi tools all use the same batteries, i will never buy any other brand because of that.
Just glue in a 1/4" plywood door stiffener. Problem solved.
If Ryobi just had plain black i would of bought all their stuff.

There's some cool stuff there but I'm definitely "some people" that color is just a deal breaker for me around my old school tools and red/black/silver aesthetic. Seeing that color next to my grandpas hand planers makes me cringe.

I know it sounds shallow but i just could never go with the Ryobi ecosystem solely because of their hideous color 🤮. My favorite colors are black and red so Milwaukee works well and looks good. I have the old blue Ryobi which i love, I've had a benchtop belt sander for 20 years.

I honestly feel like Ryobi would be so much more respected if it wasn’t for the little kid color scheme. (I know a lot of there cordless tools are shit) Im aware it sounds ridiculous but the color is hideous. All my old ryobi stuff is this dark navy blue and that color would be so nice in all these modular components. Maybe that’s just me.
I get it. I actually like the green but I understand it isn't for everybody. I'm just doing DIY stuff so I care more about the price than the color.
As far as the power tools, I have about 20 different tools and they've all done the job without any kind of failure.
They aren't always the most compact or powerful but I just don't need more for what I'm doing.

I agree a choice of color would be nice and more appealing to more people. But my stupid eyes can find my bright green ryobi stuff so easily in my “organized chaos” mess that is my office and garage lol. It’s so good for ADHD people who set stuff down randomly and can’t find it again. Obviously very niche use lol but it works for me.

There's a lot of stuff that most people have pre-concieved notions about. For instance, I assume eating octopus would be gross. I don't want to travel to some countires because they are percieved as dangerous (or certain parts of the US for that matter). I don't care for most Harbor Freight tools, because I assume (maybe right, maybe wrong) they too, aren't that great. I'm sure you yourself have preconcived notions as well, for instance, you assume Ryobi cares what I have to say about their storage that I bought with my money, out of the millions of other people buying their stuff. 🤣
