How Legolas is described The movies: blonde, badass, sexy elf that only appears for 8 minutes and only makes random faces because he doesn't have many lines The books: *L e g o l a s*
@@EverlyMorrow I’m pretty sure it was never really described in the books properly. But in the hobbit book, Thranduil’s hair is told to be blonde so Legolas’s hair is assumed to be as such too.
I can't blame you. I'm a straight man, but I can tell you, since the very first time I have seen he, I thought this character/actor was too much stilysh and handsome, even more than needed. I'd be like him if I could, that's a man!
Nice. My mom had a crush on Aragorn for some time, but ngl I’m not sure if I was ever completely crushing on any of the characters. I need to rewatch the movies, though, as I was younger when I saw them, and I’m honestly eagerly anticipating seeing whether or not I’ll start having feelings for one of them.
I’d have to disagree personally, as at the moment Gimli is probably my favorite, but I absolutely love Legolas and if memory serves he was my favorite for quite some time. He’s hard not to love.
Bloom was superb in the role. He conveyed a confidence and masculinity of being an elite warrior but maintained an aura that was egoless; suppose that could be partially the origin for the character’s name. His loyalty to Aragon is beyond respectable and admirable. Actions speak louder than words, he may have been the loudest character in the series!
I think the time after the Hobbit must have really softened Legolas... In The Hobbit films he's angry and too feisty... I don't get why they changed him so much. In here he looks badass but gentle and kind at the same time... There he's just angry.
@@quirrelmorts I love the action scenes, but there he's just angry... Honestly, for me it was an extension of Orlando's role as Buckingham... He wasn't the Legolas we knew... Not only he looked "older", but the angry birds vibe killed in a negative way for me.
I think this is because in the hobbit, since it happened before lord of the rings chronologically, he was younger in the hobbit movies. It can be implied that he is less mature back then and more arrogant. Clearly he's become more experienced by the time lord of the rings came along, with more life experience he also has a calmer demeanour and temper.
@@ANTSPlantationin the mere space of 30 years!? That's like a year to an Elve. Legolas is a minimum 500 years old. He describes the 138 year old Gimli as a "child".
I like this small detail (they never forgot about details like this, I think) THAT Legolas and Aragorn had many of elvish mannerisms, swithching to Elvish etc.
All the way through this movie I was frustrated that Legolas kept warning the party of approaching danger, and their answer was always, "Yeah, whatever." Then he'd fight like heck to protect them even though they never bothered listening to him.
i really hope legolas knew why galadriel gave gimli 3 strands of her hair instead of 1 like he asked. i DESPERATELY hope he knows and is like “haha fuck you fëanor”
That story is just too famous to be ignored by any elf. I'm sure the ones who visited Middle Earth spread those stories among their people far and wide.
You mean there are really only less than 8-1/2 minutes of Legolas in the whole first movie? That's ... super depressing! (And I love the compilation, BTW. I mean, the other characters are great and I love them, but Legolas has my heart.)
Everyone rags on Bloom. At first his acting isn't great. However, watch his progression in these films. THEN watch all of his recent projects. Big difference. That said, this cast wad PERFECTLY cast. Happy accidents and all. It was meant to be. ❤

Your name suggests that we like the same things, my friend. So do you also like cake? Btw i love how you included those seconds of screentime when he's visible only as a blurry blob in the background or even if there's only his hand. A true worshipper XD
People assume screen time and huge swaths of dialog are all that can expose a character. The lines not said explain a lot about Legolas. He's mostly there as hired muscle, as a DPS brought into a party that needed one. Initially he's just the guy with the binoculars as it were, being a lookout, and yelling out when he sees something before everyone else. He has most of his lines in elvish settlements, often talking to other elves. Thats when he opens up, when he's in the Council in Rivendell and when he's before Galadriel. What that says to me is that at worst he's a bit elitist towards other races at first, and at best, he's a bit shy about being out in the world with other races and only feels comfortable around other elves. The few times he does talk directly to someone else, it's usually Aragorn, since Aragorn was raised by Elrond, which makes him practically a cousin. So yeah, he doesn't talk much, but that can also tell you something about a character. The fact that he has made friends with Gimli by the end is character growth for him as much as it is for Gimli. He comes out of his shell and becomes a true part of the group by the end.
Bro legoles is my sempi ok he could step on my face and I would say thank you I will never stop crushing on him like he could throw a brick at my face and I'd say I love you
I will be very honest. I will only go fully g....y for Link or Legolas. Freaking elves man. Even the men look hot. But the women look 3 times hotter. Still... The men look hot just 3 times less. Heck, I will even do an OLD grandpa elf. Aragorn's lover's dad. LOL!

AMEN!💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
@@jassy48 agreed!
Yes yes yes lol
Me too.
Yes that would be so amazing many details are missing and I really want to see them. Like when Legolas meets Aragorn and much more❤❤❤
Him walking on freshly fallen snow will never not be iconic
Even gravity respects Legolas
He also walks on falling rocks in the battle of five armies, gravity does not affect this man lol.
If u read the books up you will find elves can semi levítate on snow
@@ANTSPlantation"He is no man"

Lmao samee
ikrr lmao
Same 🤣
Same here everytime I watch this movie I always look for him.
There are two other movies lmao and he’s in “The Hobbit” too. You’ll see him plenty😌 we still want more tho🥹
My honey Orlando Bloom had the most accurate representation of his character in comparison to the book, so it’s what he deserves ✋
Not at all. He does not have blond hair in the books.
@@racyrowdyrocket wait what kinda hair does he have in the book then?
In the sense that he has the least amount of screen time to actually have a change from the book lol

He is so perfect, I wish he had more screen time. Off to buy the extended edition DVDs now since netflix only has the theatricals :(
Hbo max has all extended movies.
This movie should of been just about him. Literally he carry his whole team.

I did some math, and Legolas only appeared for 46:45 minutes in the entire Lotr and the Hobbit trilogies (extended editions)
Crazy how attached I can get to a character with such short screen time

You’re welcome
I know it’s a Legolas video, but at 7:22 it never stops being amazing seeing the pile of uruks slain by Boromir, merry, and pippin
