I'll be performing a leak down test this weekend, but I'm almost certain my 3.2 has failing rings; it's burning oil at a progressively faster rate. I did the valve seals a few years ago. I thought about installing a type II 3.2, but the 3.5s are surprisingly cheap at the yards...and they appear to be more reliable.
@@jaysonjimenez5968Man, these newer Honda swap projects sure have gone dead…. Did you ever get it figure out? I’m sure the Acura/Honda world would love to know! That knowledge could save a lot of us car enthusiasts and DIY’er’s!
The 3.5s are a lot more reliable. They also do mot blow head gaskets as easily as the 3.2. They are very solid engines. The bottom end is a 4 bolt main.
They created a bit more hp than the type I heads did and plus the cam was slightly more aggressive. I'm no expert but I just started researching this and that's what I've found
Thanks. This video helped me strip my RL motor. I used the approach of following the wiring harness and pulling everything that obstructed it.

Hey buddy got a question..
Would a J35Y4 engine from a 2015 RLX Fwd fit a 2018 TLX Fwd (J35Y6).
Will it bolt on directly on the tlx transmission?

I’m trying to figure out all of the modifications to do a 3.5 swap
Can I use just the type 2 intake only and not the cams.
Can you use a 6spd Legend trans, Ecu and harness with this engine?
don't you have to modify one of the motor mounts for this swap? someone please get back to me.
Well done
was this the one that ended up in December?
What's special about the type II cylinder head that all 3.5l swaps use the 3.2 heads? Thanks
