This is such an important business in Haiti. We often talk about tourism being so important to their economy because it's "free money" Well honestly, tourist often don't like to go to places in the world that have sanitation problems. This is a true ecological solution to such a widespread issue in Haiti. I really hope this operation grows and i can see why SeeJeanty wants to promote their business on this channel.

It's a good thing. Not only Haiti has this problem; dozens of countries are in the same situation and, this is a great solution to the problem even though it is very artisanal we only can hope that in the future when the political environment settles down, the government and private investor could resolve the problem disposing black waters with an efficient sewer system and keep producing compost like New York City does.

Great episode.
You can buy HEATED humanure pellets in the U.S. as "Class A" fertilizer and it does smell when it breaks down! This is ALREADY broken down or composted - so no smell!! Awesome.

Awesome! I love the conversation of sanitation in Haiti. I think if we could get Haiti cleaner it can and will restore the pride. As you could tell with the example of the theology teacher.
Im interesting in starting a non profit organization that focuses on cleaning the streets of Haiti by incentivizing the people to recycle and allowing them to make money similar to what we have in the US. I feel like if people saw the monetary value in recycling and proper waste disposal this could create for a healthier environment.
If anyone knows of an organization that is working on this initiative please let me knowS or if anyone knows how I could start this initiative?

I have a few more questions about this company.
a) who was the initiator?
b) what do the employees earn?
c) are the employees socially insured (accident, illness, pension)?
d) is there only this location in Haiti?
e) are there laboratories?
Initiators were a group of Haitians and foreigners. Employees earn above market wages and have social benefits. Currently it's in northern Haiti but there are similar business like this around the world. Unclear what you mean by laboratories.
@@SeeJeanty First of all I want to congratulate you on your informative videos. Great idea from these people! In order to fight against climate change, this would have to happen on all continents! I hope that this project will soon be able to finance itself and not depend on the help of others!
By laboratory I meant whether a biochemical examination is carried out on site and according to which standards.
