    Havneholmen is astonishing! Like walking into an Escher world. This sort of civic art project is so important, and I wish it were more common in the UK. Walking around a city and seeing constant reminders that people can do beautiful work like this is undoubtedly good for the soul.

      @@macronencer it reminds me of Escher too! i’ll go back again when all the signs are working and see if i can get some dramatic angles for maximum confusion! i completely agree with you on the importance of public art.

    Art in public places just lightens up everything - regardless of style or theme. It's sort of the epitome of "culture" IMHO. We need much more of it all over Denmark and the world. Very nice video - funny that it takes a "foreigner" to show this to a Dane, living 30 minutes south of Copenhagen.

    Thanks for the presentation Aimee. Living in this area, the blend of urban art and transportation on the M4 simply brings so much joy. Well worth a visit!

      @@zoebreadtube yeah i was thinking the same… on no, can’t put a clock sideways that goes at the wrong time, people in the uk wouldn’t be able to handle that! 😂

      @aimeerivers  Месяц назад +4

      it's so cool. i'm so pleased that they were allowed to do it. some the check-in machines were actually lit up, so i imagine they'd work .. if you could reach them! some displays were not working yet, i think it'll look even more fun when they're showing departure information but sideways!

    That was the nicest presentation of anything Copenhagensk I've seen. I moved in in 1980. I think all the new stations are right nice, but being a planet lover, København Syd is my favourite.

  • @pindebraende
    @pindebraende 21 день назад

    Bangin video Aimee! Appreciate your honesty while praising the installations. I'm delighted with my new local Sydhavn stations. Havneholmen is so bold I'm surprised they were allowed to do it because it's basically anti-design in a space that, functionally, is so much about design, streamlined wayfaring, not confusing anyone etc... it's a brave contradiction! My favourite, though, may be Mozarts Plads just because of the atmosphere created in the station cave, it speaks to me somehow. And the transfomation done up on street level is really positive. The public square is welcoming to hang out at, and there's wildflower beds and a water fountain: +1 to wildlife diversity!

    My favorite by far Enghave Brygge ❤️❤️❤️ Love the integration of the art in the function of the station. Much of the art in the other stations feels performative, unnecesarily complicated. But even so I realy, realy, realy love this approach in public transport. It’s so important that we dare to maken public spaces beautiful. Congrats Copenhagen. This city is a beacon of hope for a brighter futurum 👍👍👍

    I live outside of Central Copenhagen and don't know anyone who lives in that part of the city, so I don't presently have much reason to use the M4 line's southern branch, but your excellent video makes me wish to go there soon just for the experience.

    I have to be a little boring here, I prefer the old stations because the wall treatments are mat it feels calming and look more exclusive where as the shiny materials look cheap and outdated like something from 1960 , I do however like the art work all of them actually, but I would have loved for the walls to be better materials and that could have been done in colors also

    The designs are not practical and very bland and not interesting at all. I'm not impressed, but thanks for sharing.
