I purchased in that part of Scalea 2 years ago. I just spent the new year there. The views are truly amazing in the morning and at sunset. That neighborhood is next to the train station but the trains aren’t too loud. But there’s no walkway or public transport unfortunately. You have to drive around. Also lots of old mattresses and garbage lying around in my neighborhood. Not sure why. But it seems safe to me. The listing you showed…I toured that building. It’s drab but the views are amazing. Prices are so low. Not sure why. Scalea is a great destination with lots to do, good shops and excellent train connections. Lots of FB expat groups to engage with.
Thanks for highlighting even more good-value properties in the Riviera dei Cedri region. The values in Bonifati are absolutely amazing! The Bonifati centro storico is beautiful.
Hi Chris great properties are they not. I see there are still some very good buys in your area that need a bit of love...Happy New Year to you and Pete
Thanks Giorgio, always enjoy your videos, thanks for showing the map location. 😄 My parents have recently retired and looking to move abroad, they’re thinking about Abruzzo, I’ve sent them a few of your videos to catch up on.
22K euros? The majority of new cars cost more than that! More excellent examples that property in Italy is more affordable than many people realize, and in decent areas as well. Thanks for another informative video, Giorgio.
Hi - I looked at that area behind the train station and made an offer but backed out. I decided that I wanted to be closer to the beach. It’s not far from the train station but you need to follow the road so it is not that close. But yes the views are great. I hope to find a place in Calabria or in Sicilia in 2025. Thank you for your vids.
Notary is basically fixed. Buyer chooses notary but the are all about €2700. Notary is required. Realtor probably takes a %. Mine was 2,000€ even though my flat cost just 11,000€. Lots of electricity, water hookup, geometr, and translation fees.
@saveandinvestwithgiorgiolo8375 Grazie! my new year resolution is to buy at least 1 bargain property in Italy and advance my italian language skills.Plus never give up drinking Birra Moretti😂😂
Wow Giorgio you do find some really reasonable properties. May I ask do you live in Italy? Where are you? I have spent a fare amount of time in Scalea and this area. Thanx for the encouragement to know there are still inexpensive properties that can do with a bit of work. Happy 2025> I look forward to seeing more in this price range. I did buy a small flat in Abruzzo this past spring but I am still looking for a few more investment properties
Many thanks. Funnily I am living between the UK, Italy and Bulgaria at the moment. A happy 2025 to you as well. I have done quite a few videos on Abruzzo. May I ask where you bought?
San Martino Suella. Wow so you are between 3 Countries. I will be doing the same. Upstate NY, Abruzzo and Portugal. I am applying for my Portuguese residency this year....Working on being overseas full time soon. Bulgaria? Is that where your family is from?@@saveandinvestwithgiorgiolo8375

Realtor costs in Scalea are 2k and required notary fees are 3k. Other fees are 1k. €
Thanks again for your feedback Mark.
Are these prices/ fees fixed, irrespective of property's purchase price❓
