Great images, great background music, great way to comment. Your video trip reports are top notch, just like the newsletter I've been happily reading for years. Thanks for sharing this and showing how good Ethiopian Airlines have become recently.
Nice flight review of Ethiopian Airlines. Ethiopian Airlines needs to immediately retrofit the seats in business and economy class in their older 777s, 787s and A350s. The seat layout in business class must be 1-2-1 so that passengers will have direct aisle access.
Nice video as always. A week ago I flew Ethiopian for the first time, Toronto - Addis - Johannesburg. It was a 350 followed by a Dreamliner. Unfortunately both were the old 2-2-2 configuration, which I found a little cramped. I took the centre even though travelling alone, to have easy aisle access. Food was good as was the service. Hopefully I get the 1-2-1 configuration on the way back, but it’s something they need to change as fast as possible on the whole fleet.
The soundtrack particularly from 9:26, just keeps bringing me back to this video. Also not forgetting the bright Ethiopian colours which somehow don't seem overwhelming but calming in its own way. Can't wait to fly Ethiopian someday. And of course Jonny your videos have taken off in a big way in terms of editing and presentation 👍. Keep them coming. Loved the Condor and latest Jet Blue videos.
It looks quite good! So far I’ve only flown Ethiopian (twice) from Stockholm to Oslo. Need to try them out longhaul and ideally on something longer than these slightly-too-short Europe to Addis runs. Anyway, enjoyed the video!
Thank you for your video! I have the same flight but ADD-LHR planned in 2 months in J, the booking says that the aircraft is A350, and on flightradar it shows that it's currently flying the A350-900, but when choosing my seats the aircraft shows a 2-2-2 configuration.. do you know if the 1-2-1 configuration is also offered on ADD-LHR?
Hi I was wondering if the 2-2-2 configuration was accurate to the plane you find but shows I will be flying the a350-900 like you stated but showed the older maps just want to figure out what I might get
It is both amazing and sad to me that airlines like ET do not offer at least one traditional dish with their dinners, Kye Wat, Alche, Shekla or Tibs are perfect airline food, stews that taste great and just as importantly, reheat easily.
Excellent and thoughtful report. You need to visit the country next time. Ethiopia will astound you in everyway. No country on earth, has so much elevation in one country. From the semien mountains in the north at 4400 meters above sea level to the danakil depression below 130 meter from sea level. In between these extremes you get large rivers, afro alpine resort, alkaline lakes and many more. Possibly Ethiopia is one of the most beautiful countries anywhere in the world. Lalibela, Wonchi crater, Gorgora resort, Hala Kela, Harrars Hyena feeding men. Dont forget in about 5 or 6 years time Ethiopia will have a big airport as big as Paris CDG 100 million passenger with 4 runway system ! watch the space; construction has begun apparently it will cost around 5 Billion dollar.
Try flying economy with them and then see what you think. I have flown over 15 times now and they are by far the worst I have ever flown with. You book seats and pay for extra legroom but often it is overbooked and then try getting your money back. Boarding is chaos with no control over boarding by groups. Food is inedible. Disinterested cabin crew. Before the aircraft has taxied to the stand people are standing to get their luggage but no one stops them. And to cap it all as passengers are disembarking one of the cabin crew turns round in her seat and goes to sleep.
i have flewn with ethiopian airlines plenty of times (around 16+ times) and with economy class aswell , i havent experienced any of the the things u said
I am a regular customer of Ethiopian Airlines and I always fly economy except when I am upgraded to business class as a frequent flier. I have come across a few overbooking issues which routinely happens with other carriers as well. However, I haven't come across the other problems you mentioned. In fact, I wonder if such an extremely negative comment is warranted.
So proud to be an ethiopian 🇪🇹❤️
Bless you a million times. I always thank God that I was born Ethiopian.

Fingers crossed it will happen soon!

Nice trip report. I'll be flying from ORD-ADD-CPT next month.

Excellent video! Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱

Great professionally informative report .. as always !
Nice Video, Ethiopian please keep up you good job
The basics of the hard product seem ok, they just need some refinement of the design to make the experience world class.
I agree, a few small touches and it could be really good.
Gracias Designair, con vosotros y esta completa guía, todo es mas fácil...😃
Great report!! :-))
Thank you!

There are two a350 configurations. The more common one is the 2 x 2 x 2 configuration.

Puts SAA to Shame. Well Done . Love Your Reports Jonny ❤️😉
May I know your videography gears & editing configuration?
Perfect service!
Do they have wifi onboard?
Brilliant video! But what a huge disappointment that Singapore airlines lounge doesn't serve Champagne!

They do actually provide on longer-haul flights! On my flight to Sao Paulo last year I had a full Njera meal.
They do but you have to be in business class
Thanks for your beautiful comments.
There's Cloud 9 restricted and Cloud 9 Deluxe- what's the difference? Cheers
It has to do with the flexibility and refund fees usually. The seats and service etc is identical

I’ve been in Ethiopia and Addis a few times now!
What do you mean by "what's all this fuss about"?
Make Ethiopia GREAT
Ethiopia airline is the pried of Africa 🇪🇹
Ethiopian 👍
Yeah, it's a really solid airline
We had a VERY BAD experience with this airline. Still waiting for refund since Paris Olympics.
