The irony being I was 13 when I watched this (shortly before my voice broke!) this was my very first Bond film to watch in cinemas. Although I liked it at the time, now as a 30 year old adult I sort of cringe at the film, storyline, script and character development. Wishing it was a more better Bond film. But despite all that it was this film that got my love affair for Aston Martin, the Vanquish was what really set the tone for me loving it's cars
Extremely well-executed glitch CGI effects 😄😄👌 it soooo good .... Pierce Brosnan is truly best contemporary Bond, he carried the part with great suave and believable cool persona
This may not be the best Bond movie, but this had, imo, the best car chase of the entire franchise. The Vanquish was beautifully showcased, the sound of the 5.9 litre V12 is just glorious! And for once, it wasn't destroyed like almost every other Bond car.
They are both evenly matched. One is offensive the other is defensive. A stalemate until some "Dumb" Luck. "JINX!!!" Both of them saying at the same time
Bond films have been OTT since Goldfinger (with the exception of OHMSS and FYEO) but Die Another Day took the series into dangerous territory...it could easily have sunk Bond all together

Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the Bond producers, are on record as saying Die Another Day went too far.
This was the breaking point for me and Bond movies. Got to the point it felt like the story was to complement the ridiculous tech, rather than the gadgets supporting the narrative.
I love that this guy has a mounted machine gun firing less than a foot away from his ears, and his bald unprotected head. He's driving erratically on snowy terrain, one bump and he bounces upward to into the line of fire. And thats right after bond visibily sees the "invisible car" and hides behind it lol

Your opinion but more than half of it is a car chase is across a flat plain background…with the main stakes being that the love interest might somehow manage to drown in a room made of melting ice (rather than just, swimming out), probably the worst car chase in the franchise, the only interesting part is the use of the ejector to flip the car back around.
Yes we seen some of those James Bond Actors that who drives one of the new Aston Martins that who drive so fast during some serious car chases in one of the James Bond Films Pierce Brosnan And Daniel Craig.

Rule of parking a car in the icy north. ALWAYS REMEMBER WHERE YOU PARK!!! You'll never know if someone is going to bump into you. Especially when it is in stealth mode.
I have got this movie DVD of Pierce Brosnan's last outing as 007 James Bond with Halle Berry Rosmand Pike and Madonna also sings the theme song from it too in Die Another Day I am dedicating this movie DVD to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyxxx

I can imagine an ultra-realist approaching the director during the making of DAD and saying, "there are no invisible cars at this moment in time; therefore, you cannot place it into your movie. The director humors him and says, "Oh yes, I forgot we are making a documentary for literal-minded people who only appreciate the here and now. Thanks for reminding me."
How people can hate this Bond movie is beyond me! It's still one of my favorites. Pierce was James Bond! Daniel Craig is good in the role too, but Pierce deserved at least one more film as they intended to give him originally.

The stunt team took out the v12 engine and replaced it with a v8. I'm not sure from what car brand though.
mark13hazard They put a Ford Racing engine in the Aston Martin. Same with the Jaguar.
I just love how evenly matched the 2 of them were always having something to counter the other.
Jaguar had way more missiles than the Aston Martin yet chose not to use it. I'd say the Aston had the most powerful armor of all; plot armor.

It’s not invisible, it’s camouflage. The car creates an image of what you would see if there was no car.

@airstrike92 well yes and no, a normal Vanquish is a V12 yes, but in this movie it had to be a V8 so they could fit the shotguns under the bonnet too.
Am I the only one who loves that dirty snarl of that Jaguar/Ford V8? That XKR I mean. Not the Vanquish V12 even though it does sound amazing.

This seems more like a Fast and Furious movie. No wonder the producers need to reboot. No blame for Brosnan though, he was a marvelous Bond!

They put small block v8's (or mustang engines I forgot) to make room for the 4-wheel drive systems and if anything, the cars sound better.
