Drummers from this era had a lot more technique and musical savvy that I ever gave them credit for. I think it's because I couldn't hear them very well on those old recordings or maybe I didn't know what to listen for. Thanks for the lesson.

@@kevthejazzer TBH it's so admirable that Cliff supported his colleagues so enthusiastically. I can imagine other musicians discouraging any competition and especially from his own backing group.
