Bad day at the office, for sure - all you can do is 'pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again' (at least, that's what the song says). Easier said than done, of course - but in any event better luck tomorrow!
playing while tilted is the Chess Journey to 1700 speedrun 😂💀. But for real, I always run into those same issues if I don't take time after getting out of opening theory. Need to use a solid 3 minutes after the opening to think through possible ideas otherwise those blunders always happen. At least for me.
In both games, Austin , if you play such forcing lines , you should know how to continue. First game that dcx is a line , its the accepted queensgambit with white, its not great, but playable. In that catalan you probebly thougt b5 is a loosing line, but it isnt. You played a slow move like h3 in a forcing line, which is too slow. I am an e4 player but i know that in that catalan lines you had to force the game with moves like b3, or se5 followed by e4. Thats the way Dubov plays this and he is a good Player in this forced lines. All in all, playing good chess is a lot of work, i played in the german regional lige and the second bundeslige for 40 years and i had to improve my openings for every game, a lot of work. All in all i was just an Amateurplayer, with a peak of 2300 ELO. But even that was only reachable , by a lot of work. I had a good Trainer when i was young , that helped.
Lol come on bro, how is “not normal” to take the pawn? Obviously if you push c5 you should be ready for them to just take it…it threw you for a loop for like a full minute
Rough day but we still here. If you dont find the lines you had studied just take your time and play solid, thats why you switched to 15/10. You play really well when you just analize the position, look for pros and cons and play solid. Think about it

For sure
Bro you keep playing these elegant openings that are too much theory based. Keep it simple with caro kann/london or queens gambit.
I just started learning them like a few weeks ago of course there’s going to be setbacks
