Good to see you have your Willys mojo back! Once you have it in, you'll be able to figure out where the mount point needs to be and bolting a bracket to the trans or even the frame or a point on the firewall probably won't be that bad to do. I know you want to replace as few parts as possible, can't blame you. Another idea for the history channel is the moonshine industry in the area, plenty of things you can talk about and show on that topic, and I have a feeling that's right up your alley.

I appreciate it buddy! We think we have some ideas that will work for the bell crank and hopefully it won't be a big deal. We have the engine positioned and its going well so far. I have to get some more filming done to show y'all where I am at in the process. Thats a good idea for the history channel. All the old timers around here said every holler had a saw mill or a still in it. lol

Great to see you back to working on the '49 Willys Truck and Dauntless combo. I am working on my own Dauntless and '49 Willys Wagon project now. Hopefully, I'll have my engine back in the frame in a few days. I can't wait to see what your impressions are once its back on the road. Keep up the great work and sharing all the Willys material.

Hey, I'm first, that's just cool. There's so much to think of and consider when restoring an ol truck, but then add in an engine manufacturer swap, my lord. But I must say, you're going about it the right way. One step at a time. I dig it. Great update. Keep em comin. Lookin forward to the new channel, but take your time and do what you plan so it's enjoyable for you as well. I'm rootin fer ya.

I appreciate the support buddy! I am trying to do the steps carefully and not have to redo anything major down the road. I am hoping it will continue to fit all together. I am planning on doing some filming for the new channel soon, hopefully before Christmas but Jubal keeps calling my name. lol

Get the grinder and welder out and maybe the cutting torch and make it all happen best of luck Red Clay. The only limits are time and money. You can do it

I hear you, we discovered that the motor mounts I ordered were not needed. lol Its funny because the next video y'all see I am talking about those bloody mounts. lol We do have it positioned now and the rear driveshaft appears to be fine. The front is not going to work for several reasons and I will have to have mine modified to work, it really shouldn't be a big deal. The money part is whats hurting me right now. I need to order a few things but I have decided they can really wait til a bit later for now. lol

I'll be following the clutch deal. I'm probably going to run into this on my 53 f100. I say "apply the sending lever" on that transmission.

haha right on buddy! I am hoping it won't be to big a deal to get it figured out. I talked to my brother and we have a few ideas that should work out fine.

On the clutch linkage the late model cj5 in 71 used a clutch cable so no bellcrank. The only downside is the end that goes in the fork can break so I carry extras. It requires a bracket off the t case or frame to hold the cable casing.

Thats correct, the Jeepster also used a cable and I know they make a conversion kit for it because folks kept breaking them. I think we should be able to modify what we have to get it all working.

Didn't know the Dana 20 ever went to the t86. The t14 also came behind the v6 but don't know for sure if it goes to your belhousing. If anything happens to that transmission make sure and keep it. As you are finding they are not easy to come by. Just rebuilt my t14. And Spicer 18. Well worth doing and not hard to do.

Yeah I was just reading that about the t14 but can only find it listed as coming in the Jeepster on a few websites, everything else says it only came with the t86 in my year, so hell who knows. lol I certainly won't throw it away. lol I hoard most everything and if not I sell it. lol
