    Solid vid. Got my bolt euv. GM paid for the level 2 outlet install. My electric bill went up maybe $12-$15/month. I exclusively charge at home. Travel 800-1000 miles a month

      Thank you I appreciate it I’m trying my best to make better content. I’m more of a Tesla guy but I understand that they aren’t for everyone but I’ll have to make other reviews on Evs for sure

    it is a different approach to owning an EV. The whole routine changed for me, I park, I charge. Nice to wake up to a full "tank". Can't do that with my RAV4. Anyone complaining about a wait time clearly doesn't know how to work with an EV. Love my Tesla, and I was all Mr. ICE. Forgot to add, I pay a flat fee regardless of time of day, and it's less than a quarter x Kwh. Tesla owners should always check for rebates or savings with their power company. Cheers.

      Thank you and yes people just lack the knowledge and keep bringing up early ev problems/questions. People will learn soon and most people will have ev’s rather than Ice vehicles. I think people hate change a this is a big change for a lot of people that’s why some refuse to get one. Until you drive a Tesla. I converted my brothers and my best friend into wanting a Tesla 😭😭

      @@EddyGoesTesla that's right. Those who complain the most don't own one or just come up with tons of excuses cuz they can't afford it. Also, they lump all EVs together, that's like saying a Hyundai or a GM is the equivalent of a Toyota. That and the political narrative that goes along with owning an EV. I'm still learning how to use mine and customize it to my taste. By the way, insurance is no more than your ICE. Shopping around can save you tons.

      @@johnnyquid-xj4kkno dude. Maybe it's cause like here in the Netherlands there aren't enough charging ports. Also a lot of them don't even work at certain times of the Day this has been a complaint for many people here. Also I never seen a gas vehicle randomly combust into flames. Unlike EVs. "Cause they are poor"😂 yeah okay dude. Enjoy ur ev man I'll make sure to rev extra hard when I'm idling to counteract whatever effort your putting in

    • @johnnyquid-xj4kk
      @johnnyquid-xj4kk Месяц назад +1

      Two points, some can’t afford it, others don’t own one. Being unable to afford a pricey EV doesn’t equate to poverty, homie. And if this doesn’t apply to you, why you pussy hurt? Hey, swing by SoCal, mi casa es su casa. Uff dah

    Get a fender bender in your Tesla and see how long it takes to get body parts...Some owners have purchased another car while waiting for the their car to be fixed. There isn't a dealer network, oh yeah they skipped that. The value drops like a rock related to the battery life is ticking away...

    When you are in the process of owning a tesla it costs nearly half to drive it per mile/km compared to an ICE. BUT you lose more than you save in depreciation. That is where most of the cost of an EV lies.

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Yeah I was actually wondering how much I would be able to get from Tesla if I traded in my model 3 in the next 3-5 years and got the cyber truck.

    I’ve had an EV and I don’t think I’ll ever be going back. I work night shifts and the time spend at a charger is not worth it at all for me. I charge at night but that’s at 3 am bc there is no one and that’s the time I come home. Spending even 2 hours to charge at night when I can just come home and shower and sleep is not worth it at all. I thought EVs would be the way but with my driving at 100 miles a day at 2000 a month it’s not unfortunately.

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      I mean I understand that if it doesn’t work for you than it doesn’t work. I come home and plug in easily really not that much time added maybe and extra 3-5 secs after getting out of my car. And I traveled 2000miles this month you kinda just have to plan a little bit better like extra 15 mins unless you get the long range but yeah I get it

    For the amount I drive and the upfront cost I'd have to drive it 12 years to break even on fuel costs. Battery warranty is 8 or 10 years so for me it wouldn't make sense. Oil changes over 12 years might be about 1000. A used low range ev, rent car for long trips might make sense. Average car age now is 12 and mines 6 years old so in no hurry, it runs good, a few minor repairs at this point.

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      No completely understand if it doesn’t make sense for you now no point in doing it. I believe that in the next 5-10 years EVs will make sense for 80%+ of people. It will be more cost effective and with the technology they will be able to last longer. But than again robo taxi is a thing but maybe that’s in the next 40years where most people don’t even own a car bc it’s like 80-90 percent of the time most people’s cars just sit their

  • @chawzwan

    The money you save on charging you back back in maintenance and extreme cost of repair for EV. Especially Tesla, which refuses to let any mechanic touch their cars. They will charge you whatever they want. So for me personally the saving on fuel is like a bad marketing argument. Where is the electricity for all the EVs coming from? How about the mines in congo and these countries. we are not gonna talk about that?

      Problem is Tesla made Tesla at low quality on purpose. Elon even noted in podcast he admires and wants the iPhone model where people throw away their cars every 2-4 years and get a new one like they do with their phones (since it cost so much repair)

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Maintenance on a Tesla? I haven’t don’t any since I’ve just had the car for a month but I’ve heard it’s just rotating tires and getting new tires and air filters and that’s it. The battery is under warranty for 120k miles or 8 years so it’s free. Also Tesla is making their own builds so that way they can recycle the batteries but yes the world is not fair and a convenience for one is an inconvenience for someone else. Idk I’m just interested in self sufficient sources of fuel. Like what if they stopped refueling the gas stations? And they made everyone pay more? Idk I bought this really cool solar charger for my car and now it’ll just be free.

      If you don’t mind what podcast was this would like to listen to that haven’t heard of that but would like to see what he means. Also if so they are working on a 15-25k car so idk maybe it can work. I plan on keeping my car for a bit

    The one thing in this time is charge time, from 15-30 minutes a charge depending gen 3 or gen 2 superchargers if you even use the supercharger network for every charge, while it's 2-4 minutes a fill a car up. Then range at this time isn't the best, Chevrolet definitely would be an interest for me before Tesla befause they got their range to 300+ mile range even highway driving

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Yes charge time would be a factor but it only takes 8-14mins or so for 0-80 percent charge. I’m already at the gas station 5-10 mins using the bathroom,getting drinks, or waiting on others that are with me. My Tesla does 272 and it can do a 2 hour roadtrip no stop if it’s at 100% and will be left with 22%ish or so. If you want a tip that I wish I would have known is 80-100% will never really be touched and if so you’ll do that at the start of the roadtrip. But if you want fast charge you’ll only be going to 80% bc it doesn’t take that long if not it’ll be a 25-30 min wait. So just get the long range model and if you charge to 80 you’ll have 272 which is my 100% in this car. I guess just depends if you really are on the road a lot or not. And if you want the extra range just wait a bit more and you’ll have 341 miles.

      Maybe it is different in USA, and the price difference is not that big between a ICE and EV, but for me in northern Europe, getting a EV a lot more expensive car. And the price difference, gets me a lot of fuel. The calculation gets even more in favour of the ICE car if you change car every 3year.

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Well I hope that things will get better. Evs are still brand new and we are kinda still in the front tier of things so when the tech gets cheaper things will get better

  • @pkwithmeplease
    @pkwithmeplease Месяц назад +3

    so can we talk about how the energy your getting from the charging in the united states is still 85% natural gas/oil. LOL so honestly your not really doing anything but increasing the cost of natural gas and oil.

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Well the other part of Tesla is solar and if you get this in your house you are not paying for any electricity. That’s my goal at least I’m getting this solar power charger for Tesla

    I recently got a Model Y and understand that charging is cheaper than gas overall. However, I’m curious about your opinion on paying the high upfront cost for the car when other brands could potentially be cheaper. Does it make sense to invest in a Tesla unless keeping the car forever to justify the overall savings. It seems like in today’s society, people are replacing cars more frequently. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @EddyGoesTesla
      @EddyGoesTesla  Месяц назад

      Unfortunately we are still kinda at the front tier of ev so we are paying a bit higher prices at the moment. If you keep your model Y for 5-8 years I think it’s worth it bc if you do sale it you’ll still get back 20-30k depending on certain things of course. But teslas mission is to make their cars mass market so they are working on a car that will cost 20-25k. In the next 20ish years will see these prices drop significantly. I didn’t mind bc I love Tesla and wanted to try them out.

      I can help with this. I purchased a 2020 Model Y. When my wife was ready to go electric she picked out a Genesis GV60. Only one of our cars has morphed into a full blown robot and added an untold number of new features, while the other has remained the same as the day when it was purchased. The robot is used for 30k+ miles per year, while the electric car sees about 3k miles of use. The robot goes anywhere on a moments notice at any state of charge with no prior planning, while the car stays local and is a big hassle to take more that 200 miles from home base.

    I just came here to say HORRAY for the Cevron act being overturned. The BEV industry can now be taken down. Yea i came here to ruffle your feathers. I used to own EV's then realized its a scam. Im a gay man too! ;) byeeee

      I wouldn’t say a scam in the next 5-10 years 80% of people will have Evs. When did you own and ev what year? What model ?
