    Thank you for this powerful talk, Carla! I am a Transformational Leadership Coach, former psychologist and team culture trainer and facilitator for Flourishing Workplaces- and we love hearing about research that helps us make a difference. Wow what a great way to conduct research in various countries!

    We can’t predict the change but we can predict the challenge. As a teacher, I have worked hard over the years to create a healthier work balance. It is essential to help avoid burn out and apathy.

    People are facing a tough retirement. and it's even harder for workers to save due to low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire in.

      The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.

      It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. 'Joseph Nick Cahill' taught me to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. I've been with him for years now and his decades of experience in the markets translate to chunks of value in so many ways! he has upscaled my portfolio and even got me reading self help books haha

    This is something that I see a lot of in the games industry. It becomes easy to focus on the process and profitability of games and lose sight of the players. On the flip side, it can be easy as a player to forget that games are made by people. Finding meaningful ways to connect devs and players is so important.

      Also our society is becoming more and more sophisticated and simple jobs require more intellectual strength. As society advances and becomes more complex you're going to see more dispossession at the bottom. We need to find and create games that everyone can participate in regardless of their cognitive strength.

    As a teacher, the one thing the speaker doesn't address is the future of teaching. How do we future-proof education? Education is producing cookie-cutter graduates ready for the 9-5 grind for the handful of still profitable careers that we know of _today_ What we need is a paradigm shift to keep education itself relevant. Teach students to think qnd generate new ideas over quizzing them on existing knowledge

    This is a uniquely terrible take considering how much time and effort went into it.
    Everyone I know, from the top down, who is worried about the future of their work, is worried because there's altogether less certainty of having a decent job, and higher demands.
    This other stuff? Still true, but NOT what the average person, or even specialists, are worried about.
    Another loud word-vomit of social engineering that has nothing to do with the extremely uncertain, hostile world we live in today.

    • @jessequest8575
      @jessequest8575 10 часов назад +2

      Given how technologically advanced our societies are becoming intellectual power required at base levels are becoming higher and higher. People who have a low IQ are the ones we should be worried about in the future because the dispossession rate will increase.

    • @CabbageSandwich
      @CabbageSandwich 8 часов назад +1

      @jessequest8575 Very correct, though, as you may know, IQ isn't a very good measure, nor is it practical terminology, so I avoid it on serious topics whenever possible.
      I'm not trying to be PC, nor do I hope this comes across as some kind of social reform inclusivity nonsense. Intelligence and education is a cornerstone of this problem, and we need to frame it correctly, or we'd be better off not discussing it at all.
      Since the world is getting more complex, we need to be precise when addressing critical distinctions around human intelligence. Particularly so, if we want to talk about the dynamics of how different people engage with work in today's age.
      In terms of pure intelligence (insofar as we are capable of isolating basic cognitive function, and that's not so easy), we can categorize the vast majority ~95%+ of people into a few groups.
      There are geniuses or savants (demonstrate some kind of notably impressive cognitive skills, coinciding with, or without, detriments in other areas of their cognitive function).
      There are specific learning disabilities (Scalar, on a scale of severity from extreme to minor).
      There's the differently-abled. So, more than one pain-point or has one profound mental impairment that is incapacitating for many tasks.
      There's the disabled. Largely unable to function independently and can not be entrusted to decision-making or any unscripted engagement in social settings.
      These intelligence ranges are a better substitute for IQ. Regardless, a number is FAR, far too reductive, and grossly inaccurate at all levels of the metric.
      These terms I've mentioned are completely isolated from education (as they should be).
      However, they are not an important factor when it comes to discussing intelligence in the workforce. That's because the ONLY people worth discussing on this scale is the Differently Abled, there is very little to be gained from generalizing anything or attempting to address the concerns of any other group. Evne then, all these categories all make up too little of the population and are often too specific to matter much in thr face of the rise of technology.
      So, in the future, when talking about intelligence in general and in work, try to stick to education/training, don't stray into discussing general intelligence, or terms like IQ that, very very incorrectly generalize about mental insufficiency AND education.

    • @jessequest8575
      @jessequest8575 7 часов назад

      @@CabbageSandwich People vary in their ability so just because you're training people doesn't mean you'll reach the same outcome. You're overvaluing social constructivism over biological factors. The best predictor of long-term success is IQ and conscientiousness, it's a brutal statistic because a lot of it is biologically determined so please don't try to snuff this conversation out. I find that extremely dangerous and you failed to prove the contrary. I'm not saying there isn't exceptions to the rule nor am I generalizing... Maybe you didn't intend on it but it came across a tad sanctimonious with all due respect.

      @@CabbageSandwich 16% of the population has an IQ lower than 85 so we have to look at that with seriousness and try not to virtue signal. It's just a tough conversation we need to have

    My appeal to every Muslim, my brother or sister, the owner of the channel, I know that it is not my right to comment on your channel, but God is my witness that our circumstances are harsh and forced me to do this. Please forgive me. My brother, there is still a brotherhood of faith. I asked you for a bag of flour. My brother, we women cannot go out among men. There is still a woman with you. My brother, God has honored you. You are men. We are women. We cannot go out or work like you. My brother, where is the brotherhood of faith in your hearts? We are women. There is no brotherhood, no mercy, no compassion, no humanity. And give good tidings to the patient. It is the greatest hope while waiting for what we want. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' How many times I called and talked and tried hard, but no one responded. Oh man, we are with you. My mother ordered us food from the restaurant. More and today. My mother left. Crying. She said, Why are you crying, my mother? She said, My daughter, I ask. God, that I may be honored by death. She said, Why, my mother. She cursed us. She said, "My daughter, today the restaurant owner insulted me. I said, 'Why?' I said, 'How can I be better than people?' I ask God, my daughter. May God gather me. With death alone, a gathering that is better than this humiliation and this humiliation. It is true. I am saying this. It diminishes my value and respect. But, man. I swear to God that I did not say this. I kiss your boots. I am so hungry that my conscience no longer allows me to let you go and ask us for food. I kiss your boots, man, and I ask you by God Almighty and in the Book of God, man, I kiss your boots, man. He has caused us harm, my brother, so that we can buy a kilo of flour and pay the rent. My brother, have mercy on us. He who is in the show will have mercy on you, He who is in the sky. My brother, this is my WhatsApp number: +967735955836. Whoever can help us, message me on WhatsApp. We will send him the full name. He will transfer us as much as he can. May Allah reward you. Allah knows that my family and I, our house rent is 15 thousand Yemeni riyals per month, and now we owe 45 thousand for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of those people who do not have mercy. By Allah, my brother, he comes every day and humiliates us and talks about us and wants to throw us out of the house and into the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. We will have until the end of the week, and if we pay him, he will swear by Allah that he will throw us out into the street without mercy. See my situation for yourselves. I ask you by Allah, the Living, the Eternal, to help me. By Allah, the Almighty, even at night we cannot sleep from fear. We do not have mattresses or blankets to warm ourselves from the cold. Everything is flooded from the rain, and we have no one but Allah and then you. My brothers, I kiss your boots, don’t turn me away empty-handed. Help us with whatever you can. Is it acceptable to you that we live in this place? We are girls and we have no one. Our father died in a car accident. Consider us your daughters and your honor, and help me with whatever you can.
