HI EVERYONE! Please give this video a 👍 above to support us and help spread the word. Have these 2 videos put Jordan on your radar? Any other questions you have about visiting, please let us know.
I've just returned from doing a week long trip around Jordan. We rented a car and I planned the itinerary myself. Such an experience and felt safe the whole time we was there. Jordanians are very welcoming.
Im Jordanian and I always take an Uber. Car always arrives in less than 5 min. There are Christians here so theres alcohol but only in licensed restaurants, hotels and bars. Avoid visiting during Ramadan as you cant eat in public therefore most shops would be closed during the day. I like this video
Just returned from Jordan. Agree with all the video comments. Bring swimming googles for the Dead Sea, as getting sea water in your eyes will really hurts. We went 5* in a tour group of 8 people. Perfect. A good tour guide is essential to get the most out of the history,
Great video and good tips. I visited Jordan for 18 days now in February/March 2024. Lovely country and very welcoming and lovely people and we felt really safe everywhere. And I'll probably visit again some time. We used the yellow taxis in Amman and they all used meters. Our hotel booked Uber for us twice and they cost more than the yellow taxis. They use green taxis in Aqaba. One of them didn't have a meter but we agreed on a quite reasonable price. There were so many great places to visit. But for me, The jeep tour in the vast, red and timeless Wadi Rum surrounded by mountains was the most magical experience 🥰 Thank you for sharing your great tips.
I agree with you after being in Jordan that it would be very easy to do Jordan without a tour. If I ever went back even as a solo female i would feel perfectly safe to do it alone. I agree with Ramadan not affecting things too much but there was really nothing open during the day in Amman even tourist places. But in the tourist areas, Jerash etc there was places to eat during the day. I loved Jerash and think that everyone should visit there. The dead sea I think needs a night to stay there, but is totally doable on a day trip ( which is what my group did) Petra definitely needs 2 days if not 3 to see it all( there is alot of walking and alot of stairs) but you can see the main sights in one very long day. I agree that need to enter at 6 am knock out alot before tour groups arrive, and it is way cooler. Wadi Rum is also a must do staying in the desert was wonderful. ( it was very cold at night though- I was there in May) All in all the people were very kind and the food was fantastic. I also agree Uber was great and very cheap.
My wife and I went for our 25th anniversary, we stayed with our nephew who was born in Al Mafraq, and spent 2 months with his family in March & April 2018. He took us around Jordan as a family, so we weren't part of a tour, which was great. Payed non tourist prices.❤❤ We stayed AT THAT Holiday Inn Dead Sea Apr 2 thru 4, 2018 it was wonderful!!! ❤ The room service and food portion sizes were amazing. 😮😮 Petra was gorgeous, beware of the sellers around the Treasury that will constantly bug you to buy something or offer services. Amman was fantastic, the mall and Hashemite Plaza was huge, but you'll do alot of walking, wear good shoes.❤ We stayed in Wadi Rum for 2 days, 🙏🏼🥰 the food was delicious, the sunsets and stars were unbelievable. We stayed at Wadi Rum Space Village Luxury Camp. It was great! Comfortable beds, full bathrooms. Lights out at midnight cuz they ran on solar. It was pitch black after midnite except for all the stars and pathway lights. I'd love to go back someday,❤❤❤❤ the Jordanian people are so friendly❤❤ and the hospitality was A+❤ Prices overall were affordable, aside from our nephew being Jordanian. ❤❤❤ The last Mideast country on my bucket list is Egypt.❤❤

amazing trip to PETRA this site is my favourite very year I'm visit PETRA tow or three times beacus PETRA at winter season there is special beautiful and at summer there is wonderful also but at spring season the view and beauty something else and you are always welcome to Jordan
My partner, our friend and I went to Jordan a few years ago in December so the weather was nice and cooling and we totally loved it. Such a magical place and we would definitely go back again. Another of the highlight is the glamping in Wadi Rum. However, we did hire someone to bring us from Amman to Petra, Wadi Rum glamping (Martian Dome) and the Dead sea for a few nights. In Dead Sea, we stayed at the Hilton hotel which has it own secluded dead sea pool for the hotel guests only and the hotel staff will even apply the mud on your body and help you to wash off the mud. We had a quick stopover at McDonalds to get Chicken McMuffin while on the way to Petra haha
Sounds amazing. Can you tell me what the weather was like in December? We are thinking of visiting at that time of year because that's when our teens have time off for winter break.
@@rikylwitt December is winter. Cooling and dry around the 20°C but nice especially if you are walking from the entrance of Petra all the way to the monastery. Light jacket will do.

We went in July (2024) and surprisingly, it wasn’t deathly hot (max 32°) we’ve been in Seville when it was 42°! We first tried the Uber taxi route from the hotel to Amman museum but found there was a 20 minute wait, then a mix up. So we went out in the street and flagged a yellow cab. We negotiated the fare with the driver before getting in - he wanted 6 Dinar, I suggested 2.00. We agreed on 3 and I gave him 3.50. It was the same getting back to the hotel (the traffic was pretty shocking!) and we had two yellow cabs arguing over our fare (which obviously got lower and lower 😁) but the guys were lovely and a good laugh. I never felt threatened walking in the busy streets at night, but I wouldn’t stay in Amman again - we also went to the smaller town of Madaba (just south of the capital) and much preferred it.
I paid a “guide” to take us up to the view point in Petra above the treasury - we paid 10 dinars for 2 adults. Not cheap by all means but it was worth it. Definitely go early
In jordan you can eat all day with 7 dollars per person you have to eat In popular areas not tourists area Its clean and cheap and tourists are welcome there As a Jordanian I do advice you to have guide with you it can show you the country very well but feel free to go downtown by your self Its hard to be lost in jordan as long as you have a phone with internet Jordan is a very nice country to visit You are all welcome

Amazing! I didn't think it would be that safe. Also, I didn't know the Dead Sea water was really oily. Maybe I just didn't really think hard about it. Great video!
We ended up taking the shuttle bus to Little Petra, where we walked around just in time to hear someone come out of the cliff and sing the Adhan. Imagine the acoustics in that canyon! From there, it was a 5JD Jeep ride to a spot where they dropped us on the side of a path. The driver pointed down the path and said "Monastery." So we hiked about an hour and a half (stopped for coffee at a Bedouin tent, of course) until we reached said Monastery. We approached it from a very different side on a beautiful walk where we enjoyed spectacular vistas of the surrounding desert before descending to the Treasury and the Siq. That was our 1-day Petra walk. Recommended to us by Abdullah at the Petra Heart Hotel.
