Crust AND dumplings...now that's fancy! Peach cobbler has to be one of the top desserts of all time & you know I love it. Awesome looking and delicious, great video!
YES! Who knew that you could use pie crust in multiple ways when making peach cobbler! Thanks for watching as always, TJ. Let me know if you give my version a try 👨🍳🍑
Very nice looking dish Parnell... I liked your process and enjoyed hearing your train of thought as to why you carried out each step... Great vid as always.... Catchya again very soon ....👍
Thanks, Margaret! As always, I like to show people what to do, as well as explain why...along with giving people some options on how to change things up if they want without totally changing or ruining the recipe. Let me know if you make this peach cobbler with canned peaches and pie crust: I think you would fall in love with it!🍑😀
Your peach cobbler look's Delicious. I'm going to give it a whirl. Good to know frozen is better then canned. Love peach cobbler... Thank You for Sharing! Have a great day!!!😊
Thanks for your kind words, Jim. You should definitely make this peach cobbler with canned peaches and pie crust. I am sure you will fall in love with it🍑😀👍
I make my cobbler with canned peaches do and lemon and zest no other spice no bottom crust but a middle crust , same idea as dumplings I’m guessing , going to try the spices in my canned peaches next time, thank you for the share looks amazing !
Hi, Carlene! It sounds like our recipes are similar. I am curious to know what you think of adding the spices, so please let me know. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🍑👍😀
What an amazing and delicious peach cobbler made from canned peaches great tips on reducing the Syrup and I like your idea of using extra spaces because of the canned peaches in your addition of nutmeg cloves and cinnamon are just perfect what a delicious cobbler one of my favorites
Hi again, Jeff! Yes, reducing the syrup is necessary: I made this once without doing that step, and it was almost like peach soup, haha. The spices definitely helped this recipe a lot because, unfortunately, canned peaches don't have as much flavor as fresh or frozen. Thanks for watching and commenting as always🍑😀
Yummy looks great, hope you had a great weekend, this sure looks delicious 😋, I love cobbler and love peaches, I need to can more soon, I bet this was so yummy 😋,take care stay well stay safe have a wonderful week 🏵️

Serious soul food today Parnell. This is a winner of a cobbler, looks delicious. You always make your recipes accessible and well explained. Love this dumpling technique too. I want some right now!
Thanks so much, Geoff! This peach cobbler with canned peaches and pie crust was definitely a winner. And thank so much for your kind words--it means a lot hearing that come from a great chef like you! I always try to explain my recipes so that anyone can make them successfully. If you have never had cobbler with dumplings, you should definitely give it a try: they are super delicious, not leathery at all! Thanks for watching!😀🍑
Hi, Vanessa! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. This dessert was definitely delicious. Let me know if you make my recipe for this old fashioned Southern favorite🍑
Yes, adding dumplings to peach cobbler is definitely not very common--but it is very Southern. Although you might expect the texture to be spongy or leathery, it is not: the dumplings inside were absolutely delicious. I know you have canned peaches / "duraznos en almibar" where you live, so you could definitely give this recipe a try 🍑😉
Thanks so much for the kind words: I really appreciate the support. Yes, this recipe is super easy. Let me know if you give it a try. I am sure it would be the perfect finish to one of your barbecue / grill meals😉
Looks good, Parnell! I love using canned fruit in my cobblers. I agree that they do need to be doctored up a bit. I love the idea of adding lemon zest. Your crust looks delicious (that’s my favorite part of any pie)! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Andrea! Yes, canned peaches definitely need a bit of spice if you are going to use them in peach cobbler, but to be honest, I think I have found the perfect amount. The lemon zest was definitely good, and in hindsight, a bit of lemon juice wouldn't have been bad either. Haha using pie crust made this both easy and delicious! Thanks for watching as always🍑👍😀
The Peach Cobbler was very nicely done Parnell 😊 adding the dumplings was a plus you are absolutely right by not adding an extra crust to the bottom of the pan.I noticed no butter?
Thanks so much, Ms. Sandra. When someone like you approves of my peach cobbler, I am truly flattered. And yes, I know that butter is often added to the peaches themselves...but I am trying to not add too much calories to this, haha. I should have mentioned that as an option, though. Thanks for watching and commenting as always!🍑
This looks wonderful Parnell! I love the spices - especially the cloves and lemon zest! It's really great to have a recipe for canned peaches - sometimes it's hard to get good peaches and I always seem to have a can floating around. 😁💗
Thanks, Christina! Like I said in the video, canned peaches need a bit of help, so imo, the spices are what really make this great. You are definitely right that it can be hard to get truly good fresh, or even frozen, peaches, so this is a great recipe to have on hand. Let me know if you give it a try👍😀🍑
Hi Parnell. Can you believe this is actually my (Nabol) favorite dessert and I've never prepared this at home? We always appreciate that you try to cut those calories and sugar. That's our nemesis. I actually didn't know what spices went into this. Oh! We like the idea of dumplings. Dude, I'm salivating over here. Looks amazing.
Hi, Nabol! Peach cobbler with canned peaches and pie crust is your favorite dessert? That's awesome! And yes, you know me, I try to make recipes a bit healthier if at all possible. Now that you know how to make it, you should give the recipe a try--especially the dumplings. They are truly exceptional! Once again, thanks for watching and commenting, Nabol! Have a great start to your week!🍑👍

I love that you used canned peaches so much easier to get a hold of it and this looks so tasty too :) Excellent pie, looks so appetizing :) 😍
Yes, canned peaches are much easier to find than fresh or frozen--but the trick is knowing how to use them properly. This cobbler is so delicious, and along with the pie crust, it is easy to make. Let me know if you make this! 🍑
Peach cobbler sounds delicious right now! I have never done it with pie crust, I like that! I love mine with a little vanilla icecream😋It is peach season in VA so I might have to try this with some fresh peaches when I get back🍑 Well done, Parnell!!
Hi, Alicia! Peach cobbler with pie crust is really easy: all you have to do is unroll it, cut it, and put it in the dish. If you canned peaches, there is absolutely no prep to the fruit. This would be great with some ice cream, I agree. If you try this with fresh peaches, I am sure it would be just as good. Thanks for watching as always, Alicia!😀🍑👍 PS: Stay safe on your trip!
Yes, definitely. In fact, I once made this peach cobbler with canned peaches and pie crust without reducing the juice, and it was almost like peach soup, haha. Thanks for watching👍😉
Hi, Jo! Thanks for asking--I realized that it isn't super clear in the video. I meant to say to add the cornstarch when you add the spices like the nutmeg and cinnamon, at around 3:50. In a lot of my other cobbler recipes I first add the cornstarch to a bit of water to make a slurry, but in this one I don't--I just added it directly to the cold peaches...then add in the thickened syrup in the pot. The important thing is to add the cornstarch to a cold liquid (the juice that's with the peaches, not in the pot). I am sure your cobbler will turn out great!👨🍳🍑🥧😀👍
Hi! I usually don't add any butter to the fruit filling. However, if you make this cobbler recipe, and you add butter to the filling, please let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching! 🍑🍑😀
OK I listened to your recipe 345 times number one you should just tell the recipe and not try to do grams and ounces just select an American which is ounces in cups and you didn’t show where and when to put in the corn starch you didn’t show put pouring your peaches into your crust and you should just used one method of crust and then have side notes at the end of your video about other things whether to use or to crest or any other little hints that you want to give. I found it confusing and I’m not stupid or anything maybe you should make a video and then watch it before you put it on so you can see your mistakes I did make the recipe. I’m 71 of made peach cobbler’s for years and years. It was OK but it was not the best peach cobbler I’ve ever made.
