Many years ago, Vladi was ejected from a game for deliberately damaging his rubber (in order to switch to another racket).
Very nice interview. Thanks Adam. I've been a huge fan of Samsonov ever since watching him 20 some years ago. If table tennis ever needs a true spoke person, I would suggest Vladi is it.

I met him at the World Cup 2016 in Saarbrucken, Germany. He is a great person indeed. Im glad table tennis has players like him, Timo Boll and Jorgen Persson.

What a legend. First stumbled upon this player when I was a kid flicking through the German satellite TV channels. Such a class act after all these years. I've just heard that he's retired.
I practice with samsanov at potters in uk. Was awesome. It testament how good he is that his game so strong 20 year on.
