Furthest thing from an idiot bro, I’m happy that you went into meticulous detail sharing the ups and downs of the build, thanks so much for the insight. Good vibes only brother 💯🙏🏾
Head is completely stock. We had the valves lapped cause it was from and old motor that munched up a ring land. Stock head, valves, cams and springs. Slightly thinner head gasket I believe
What were your main and conrod clearances and which king bearings sets did you use? I am building a 3s now with eagle rods and i have to use half a 1thou undersize bearing set and half a standard set to achieve 1.6thou for conrod clearance.
@@SDSGarage89 thanks for the reply. Just confirming, you mean 0.0018-0.0020 right? From the manual this seems to be on the looser end of the spec, do you have good idle oil pressure?
@@VimalMaharajTT haha yep .0018 - .0020. My bad. Confirming what idle oil pressure is on the 86. We have been logging this a lot and anything north of 5k is about 70+ PSI but will confirm idle.
The 3S-GTE requires more work to make it fit. You’ll need a custom intakes 3SGE pan, transmission and it will be mounted straight up and done. The 3SGE is leaned over a bit.
gotcha. I researched this a bit some time ago and apparently a few guys have swapped st215 GTEs into Altezzas/IS300, but yes, not as common as a Turbo Beams. Intake/pan/gearbox fit from a Beams if I remember correctly.
@@DmitriyKl Unless you have the older 3s sitting doing nothing, it is not worth it. The beams is a far far superior engine in everyway. dual vvt, better flowing head and many more things.

I cant wait to see future videos of you rippin on this thing. Turbo beams 86 has been on my want list for a long time lol.
Nice video, found my way here from the group.
Alright starboy i'm subscribed now😂
hi, what modifications did you make to the engine head?

@ hi im using 3sge turbo too but i had problem my valve keepers was popping up and you had that problem?

Mains and rods were about .018 - .020, trust was .003. Block is also stamped with the # size of bearings needed.

@@SDSGarage89 okay great, appreciate the advice!
Any benefit of doing this vs converting a 3S-GTE for a longitudinal config?

Forgot to add - I believe the Beams mounts make the GTE sit upright

Is there a way to contact you to ask a couple of questions about the beams turbo swap with stock internals?
DM me on the Gram and I’ll do what I can do help. Before this was built it was just a straight up NA motor turbo’d
@@SDSGarage89😅 am a to late I want to know to I have a Altezza rs200 3sge beams
What exhaust manifold did u use
The Surfab 3SGE Beams manifold. He is based out of New Zealand I think. It’s close but has worked well.
