    As for how to finance your education in the US ( 1:48 ), one option is to join the work-study program, you can use your CPT income to help pay your tuition, but make sure the university is fully accredited and you are legally authorized to do the CPT in your first year of study, job must be within 50 miles from the school campus, visit: www.work-study.us

    Hi Eugen, thanks for visiting. Yes, you will want to be 100% honest during your interview. When it comes to showing that you have ties to back home, they will want to know what reasons you have to return home after your studies such as a job offer, assets, family and a bank account- so have those reasons in mind (your mom is one great reason to return home!). Also, regarding showing proof of funds, nearly 65% of international students in the US receive their biggest chunk of financial aid from their family according to IIE. Keep in mind that you're also able to use an initial loan approval as proof of funds. Good luck!

      +International Student Thank You. about the home ties question. We don't have property under my name or my moms name. for my case my uncle and aunt are my sponsors their the one responsible with all the expenses. this is what i have for the home ties question. among in the siblings im the only one with no college degree so my mom thinks shes a failure on my part thats why i decided to pursue college even its a little late this would be the best thing could give her.

      Thanks for your reply. For the home times question you will need to basically state what reasons you have for returning home. Good luck!

    • @Internationalstudent
      @Internationalstudent  9 лет назад

      +Eugen Agitoy It doesn't necessarily have to be property that gives you ties to home. It can things such as a job offer, all of your family being back home, etc. Reasons as to why you would want to return home after your studies.

    Hi, would " My father who is going to be my sponsor, is very patriotic. So, in return for his financial support, he demands that I come back and serve my country" be a sufficient demonstration of ties to home country?

    • @Internationalstudent
      @Internationalstudent  8 лет назад

      Hi Turan, thanks for visiting! You must be sponsored by an eligible institution from the US to apply for a visa. To demonstrate ties to your home country bring proof such as a job offer letter, proof of assets, bank account information, and family. They might ask you what you plan to do after you graduate from school, going back to serve your country is a good answer but try to be more specific.

    • @turanyaqublu7846
      @turanyaqublu7846 8 лет назад

      What I meant by sponsor is that, he's gonna pay my costs when I'll be there. I'm only 17, so I don't have any job offers, bank accounts or assets. The only thing that I can use as home country ties is my family and I don't know how to do it.

    Hello! I have a very important question. In a few months my girlfriend is going to be applying for a student visa at an english-learning school in San Diego, where I live. She lives in Colombia. I will be her financial sponsor, so I will be the one showing my bank account information, and paying and such. I was wondering, how do you recommend she answer the "Do you have a significant other in the US question?" Obviously we'd plan on telling the truth, but how would you suggest answering, and following up with it? I was really hoping you'd answer it in this video, but then it was skipped. Any help with that question would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

    • @Internationalstudent
      @Internationalstudent  8 лет назад

      Hi +tpeter07, good question. Yes, she must 100% be honest about this. However, what they will want to know is if having a significant other here will keep her from returning home after her studies are complete. Part of the F1 approval is agreeing to return home when her degree(s) are complete, so she should know ahead of time that she will need to return home and be prepared to any questions related to that during her interview. Good luck!

    • @flywhiteguytim
      @flywhiteguytim 8 лет назад

      Thank you. We actually did just that, and the embassy was actually incredibly dishonest with us. They claimed we put "fiance" on our paperwork, even though we didn't. We were very honest and put that we are boyfriend and girlfriend, but they turned her down with that lie. It was very, very unfortunate. We even asked for proof that the paperwork said that, and they wouldn't give it to us. I'd suggest not going this route at all as a couple.

    Hello
    I heard that if you applied in a community college, you should say that after your 2 years study, you'll transfert your credit to a 4 years university, otherwise, your visa will be declined, is it true ?

    • @theflarewithfayngee2595
      @theflarewithfayngee2595 3 года назад

      That is a myth. However, you should be very clear why you want to join a community college for two years and not a university. It all boils down to your profile and why you want a two-year education over a four-year education. Sometimes you might need just a specialized education for two years and then go back to your home country to a job and so forth.

    Hello, I am Dipesh Sharma, from India. I have been rejected for F1 visa twice and I am planning to reapply it again but before that I want to know the reason why was my VISA rejected, I got rejection code of 214 (b) section.
    My profile - I have 62% in B.Tech, I had 6 backlogs which I cleared on time, I have Ielts of 6.5, GRE of 284, I got my I 20 from Purdue university Northwest, I have sufficient Funds required to my MS in US, I have also taken Education Loan. I have completed my B.Tech in 2016 and after that I have been working in Amazon from past 8 months.
    Questions asked to me were very easy and simple, which I think answered them confidently.
    Could you please Guide me by suggesting my area of Improvement so that I can crack my next VISA interview. Thank you :)

    Hey.. I had my visa interview some days back and got rejected most probably on the base of my age as I Completed my high school at the age of 20 years. She asked me only 5-6 questions regarding my university and regarding my sponsor but she stopped after she asked that I completed my high school recently at the age of 20 to which I replied yes.. I'm applying again.. Give me some tips if possible
    Thank you

      +Chahat SalujA We're sorry to hear that you were denied. We would suggest trying to confirm with them why you were denied and then go from there. Also, please ensure that you watch the video as that may help!

      +Mimi. If you would like to come to the US specifically to study (even if it's highschool) then yes, you will need to apply for a student visa. You can learn more on this process here: bit.ly/1v29gVP

    Hy my name is Rohan . I'm from nepal. I've got my i20 from The University of Southern Mississippi for bachelor in information technology. I have a good ielts score of overall 7 band score bt my high school GPA is really low. Is it possible that the VO will not issue my f1 visa due to low academic?If yes, how i can over come that in the interview. Please help!

    • @Internationalstudent
      @Internationalstudent  8 лет назад

      Hi +Rohan Udas, your school GPA will play a part in your visa approval- however, they will also look at many other factors. Make sure that you also mention your test scores if you've done well on those, explain why your GPA is so low and how you plan to get serious about your studies. Hi, I have been accepted in a university at USA, I also got a graduate teaching assistantship and I have just received my 1-20 document. this document says I do not have personal funds but it also says that i got the graduate assistantship and department stipend. do you believe that I also need a sponsor (my father) in order to provide more funds, or is enough what it is stated in my I-20 form? Thank you

    • @Internationalstudent
      @Internationalstudent  9 лет назад

      +oscar vazquez Unfortunately it will vary from one situation to the next- however, showing all means of how you're receiving funding during your studies is important and can help you. But keep in mind that if you have proof of funds without having your father as a sponsor, it's not always necessary to show you do have a sponsor. Once again, it varies in every situation, but good luck!
