Ive owned my 15-inch M3 MacBook Air for about 6 weeks and have been delighted with it. I’ve made videos showing you how much fun I’ve had using it and how capable it is.
Around the same time that I bought the MacBook Air I also switched to Final Cut Pro to edit my videos with. Last week I showed you that even on this mid-range MacBook Air with only 16 GB of memory and 512 GB storage how well it coped with a 4K timeline with two camera angles (one of them in ProRes log from my iPhone 15 Pro Max) AND using motionVFX Plugins.
I had a lot of interest from you last week asking if I’d run through how I’ve found switching to Final Cut in more detail - so that is what I cover in this video. By no means am I an expert in FCP - this is just to help you get going showing you what I have found works best from plenty of trial and error.
If you can teach me anything I’d love to hear from you!
Subscribing, liking and sharing are TRULY appreciated and go a long way to helping the channel grow and drive towards 10,000…🙏🏻

Outstanding insights! So nice and simple, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Love making tutorial videos! 👌🏻
Great video David! I've been using Final Cut for a while but you taught me some new tricks.
Cool, thanks! Can you imagine how many late nights it took to switch and not miss a week's video! A lot of trial and error and just I'd thought I'd share some of my thoughts...
Wonderful, another great video. Thank you David for the tips. I'll definitely be coming back to this when it comes to editing on FCP once I get my new M3 model.
Cool - it will hopefully ease some of the pain I went through! If I can help at all let me know
@@DavidLewisTechA curious question: Are there people over eighty years of age who are very elderly people who own modern smart phones???
Just bought a Mac mini, looking forward to learning Final Cut Pro
Good choice! Looks like you and me will be learning together then!! Hope the video helped a bit

Pls post a reaction video to Let Loose
BOOM 💥 - you got it!
I have the FCP App for the iPad Pro but have yet to learn how to use it.
well - you can bet that will be a video I'll be making! Part of the reason for learning FCP was so that I could try it on the iPad Pro...we will soon be in the same boat...
@@DavidLewisTech Looking forward to it.👍
...I fear they may be a few more late nights ahead 😆
@@DavidLewisTech But they will be fun nights. 👍
hell yesssss!! I'm in my element when I'm learning new skills Thomas!!
Being a Data Analytics grad student, should I go for M3 Pro or M3 Air ? I also do very basic video editing for my RUclips Channel
Hi - hard to say, but I’ve hardly touched the Air since buying the M4 Pro…I’m hoping this week’s video will show some more content on video editing. I hope that helps a bit…
@@DavidLewisTech M4 Pro?
Yup - I’ve been delighted with mine
Hi,
Thank you for your video.
If I buy a macbook air m3 16gb and 512ssd is this enough to edit video like you? I'm not a pro just for the pleasure of making family films.
hi - yup, that would be totally fine. You may need some extra external storage, but that is fairly cheap. 16 GB will get you editing though for sure.
Merci beaucoup ❤
