  • In this video I compare how cargo fits in my 2011 Chevrolet Volt and a 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric. The Volt is listed at 10.6 cubic feet, and the Kona is 19.2 cubic feet. I've argued that those numbers don't mean much, as usable space if more important than total space.

Take out the storage tray under the rear cover that might help

Excuse me but you can lower to 8cm the bottom like it s on a Niro by default. There is two layers in a kona EV trunk, just remove the first one and everything will fit trust me. I use this car with my family since 8 months... It s perfect even with 5 adults and long trip.. Last week I went from Paris to South of france, 900km. Charged on ultra charger Ionity. So perfect.

Thanks for that tip! I will need to check another Kona EV out again, but I'm not sure it would make that big a difference

@@DustinBatchelor I forgot to tell you I had before my kona EV a Ioniq EV and by lowering the bottom of the trunk space is bigger on kona. I fit more baggage than I fitted on my ioniq. For my last trip 2x900km I removed the 1st layer and we where 5 adults plus a cat and trunk full of baggage... Everything where OK. 2 recharges was necessary for 900km because I was driving most of the time at around 125km/h. Excellent trip. Everybody said, hey time has passed so quickly, I was myself not tired like with my prius v and the same trip or with my ioniq and the 5 stop to recharge....

The top cover (parcel tray) is removable. If you'd removed that, you probably would have had plenty of room.

Remove the bottomfloors and boxes completely, you will get some 100 l extra space! And play some more Tetris 😁

This is precisely why I would not buy this car I would probably get a Niro or a soul

      Soul has less space.
