Julianne Getty's it’s on hawthorne. You can look up house of vintage and it’ll take you to the street. House of vintage is HUGE. Tbh it’s not like ~rEaL tHrIfTinG~ but they have good stuff. Only problem is that it’s much pricier than normal thrifting. The prices are about the same as and sometimes even more than retail value. But it’s still really fun and they do make it easy to fine some rlly good stuff.

hawthorne thrift stores aren’t real thrift stores though let’s be honest. But they’re chalk full of things that would be hidden gems in regular thrift stores,, but are just gems there! It makes thrifting easy. But honestly half of the fun of thrifting is that it isn’t easy. I have mixed feelings lol. One thing i do NOT like is the price. They’ll upsale things up to like ten times what the original thrift store price would’ve been.

why does every other goodwill or salvation army look nicer then the ones in my area? The one's where I live look like you would get mugged in the parking lot and find someone dead in the bathroom. I'm too sketched out to go but I really want to thrift.
If you get up the nerve to go, it might be worth your while. If it seems that sketchy, maybe they'll be cheaper, and less picked over.
Google map thrift/second hand shops for more options. Tbh I frequently find amazing stuff at religious/charity shops no matter what state I happened to be visiting and they're usually a little better taken care of.
she was at a goodwill boutique - they are "nicer" stores with more currated inventory which is why it was so expensive. that goodwill she went into sucks. lol
Because these people are thrifting in nice areas. Theres a reason theres no RUclips thrifters in small towns. My goodwills are all awful in my town.
Don’t be a wuss..if they’re still in business obviously people shop there everyday and they live. If anything just bring pepper spray or something

Omg!!! Thats so cool, to go to vacation with your friend!!!! And that weather was so beautiful 😻 (it doesnt snow where i live 😪) I like the aesthetic of that thrift store, but for someone with less money its kind of difficult buy something there, but i bet that everything worth it 🤤

I've lived in Portland for 7 years and am STILL blown away by the awesome thrifting here! (I thrift waaay too often lol) Hawthorne is a must go the first time you visit, mainly for the Red Light store so I'm glad you got to check out the cool vibes there. I used to work a few stores down from the Goodwill and have to say I only ever went in there when I was looking for vintage Dooney and Bourke bags. 🤷 Hopefully you're able to make more trips up here for thrifting!

Oh Portland is one of the cities I'd love visiting one day (mostly because of the comic and music scene, definitely not its weather) and one of the few I'd ever consider living if I (n)ever migrated to the US.

I have a store in my town like The Red Light. I just put that same incubus in my inventory, but to be honest it will probably be there until June. That's when the tourists come from further away that know their s#*!. Careful driving home

i actually really dont like redlight, next time youre in portland, rent a car and drive through, i LOVE the VV in tigard, the goodwills over in beaverton and tigard are good too, and the red white and blue thrift store - rerun is terrible, dont bother. hmmm. yeah thats it. that buffalo exchange you went to is my favorite though. a lot of the thrift stores in the heart of portland really suck, you need to go to the thrifts outside of the city, where the hipsters dont live haha
I think Portland is definitely pretty overrated in the thrift store department. A lot of stores are pretty overpriced, but as a local you can find a few hidden gem stores! I'm glad you liked Portland:)
Kiva Mitrea i stopped going to any thrift store on hawthorne. i swear house of vintage is a scam. I usually go to the goodwill on southeast powell and 90th. Or the hillsboro bins.
