I pack my bags & say goodbye to my wife for what seems like the millionth time. They said it gets easier, but they lied. She looks at me & says "really baby, I will be just fine," but then she looks away so I don't have to see her cry. And that is when I ask myself; how am I supposed to be everything they expect me to be when I feel so alone, because I left my heart at home. She needs me, but I know they need me too. So God, give me the strength to do what you created me to do. Really I'm so thankful for the people I meet, the places I've been & the things I've seen, but when she's not here it doesn't feel like I'm living my dream. I know they say that no one is perfect, but I swear she's perfect for me and that makes it so much harder to leave. How am I supposed to be everything they expect me to be when I feel so alone, because I left my heart at home. She needs me, but I know they need me too. So God, give me the strength to do what you created me to do. If you miss me, I'm just a phone call away. Please be strong, be strong for me. I need you to show me how to change the inside of me. I truly left my heart at home when my carrier group pulled away from port for another 9 month deployment in the Persian Gulf. No matter what my feelings are regarding this involvement in the Middle East that we are doomed forever to be dragged into year after fucking year....we are duty bound to answer the call to arms, and so it is and will always be. - words from the heart of a US sailor.

My husband made this our song....he leaves a lot being in the Army and all and its tuff on me and our kids....he's deploying again soon and this song just breaks me down to tears every time I hear it....he wants to be the best man he can be to us, but he also has to be the best he can be as a soldier....I will never be anything but proud of him. He's a amazing husband, a damn good father and a hell of a soldier...I love you babe and everything will always be worth it because of you.... When this is all over again....hurry back home, half of my heart will be missing till you're back safe in my arms again...

I know he made this song to represent how it feels to go on tour and see millions of fans and do what he loves but he has to leave the love of his life behind so much but as an Army Brat I can't help but think of the soldiers that go on tour and have to leave their families behind for months on end.

Every time I hear this, I think of how anxious and scared I get when I'm miles away from the most amazing man who came into my life over 5 years ago. Regardless being across town or in another state, I always think about how far I am away from the love of my life. I was just able to save myself from moving back home to California to where my family on my mom's side is at because I couldn't bare being that far away from my Branden, so luckily enough his mom took me in so I could be closer. But sometimes it doesn't feel like being 15 minutes away from him is close enough, I always wanna be RIGHT THERE next to him, but may God's will be. This song means so much to me. Although, regardless the distance, Branden is forever with me in my heart, dreams, soul, and prayers.

But leaving his wife alone at home and he feels that he needs to continue to do that because that's his path in life to sing and help others but he would like to stay with his wife. Kellin represents his wife saying that she's okay and that if he misses her they can always call each other. He said in an interview.
