2. Bag Transfer - Fastest and Easiest

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Urn Filling Supplies
Correct size urn*
Temporary container from the funeral home or crematorium**
Sheet of newspaper or a towel
Large funnel (or piece of paper shaped into a funnel)
Scissors
Mask and gloves (optional). Though cremated remains are non-toxic, you may wish to use a mask as some of the particles are fine and wear gloves to keep your hands clean.
Glue (optional) - If you plan to seal the urn, you'll need glue appropriate for the material of the urn.
----------------------------------------------------------------
PREPARE YOUR SPACE
Lay out your newspaper or towel on a flat surface.
Put on the mask and gloves.
Place the urn on your covered surface with the funnel within reach.

How to Fill a Cremation Urn - Pour Ashes Directly into the Urn Method
1. Remove the lid from your new urn.
2. Place the funnel inside the opening of the new urn.
3. Open the temporary container and remove the plastic bag holding the ashes. (Keep the metal ID tag with the ashes).
4. Cut a corner of the bag containing the remains, creating an opening through which you can slowly pour the cremated remains into the funnel. (Similar to squeezing frosting out of a bag.)
5. Lift the funnel slightly upwards at the urn fills to create more room for ashes.
6. Replace the lid or threaded closure once you have placed all of the ashes into the urn.

Thank you. My beloved Angel passed on July 23rd, and after viewing your video, I was able to muster the resolve and focus to transfer her ashes from the temporary to the urn she had chosen before she passed. Not a speck spilled/lost, and I put her wedding ring and a crucifix she kept on top of the ashes in the urn. She now rests behind a cubby space in the headset of our bed, on "her" side of the bed.
Thank you again.
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I miss you, mommy... I love you .. forever.
Thank you for this. I lost my son May 2nd. And i purchased his urns a week ago. I wanted to be sure how to correctly do this for myself and his grandparents. 💔
That's a nice, respectful urn, shown in this video.
Thank You!

We are trying to remove the permanently sealed lid from our urn , any suggestions?
Sawz-All should do the trick.
@@bigdumbclown what if the ashes are hard and don't fit the urn?
Does anyone know if those satin bags that come with urn go inside or outside or how are they used ?
They go on the outside, typically, though you can do whatever you want, of course. often people use a plastic bag for the inside.
@@Jordan.Lindberg what if the ashes are hard and don't fit the urn?
How do you fill a mini urn?
I used a metal spoon
This is a great option!
You can make a funnel by rolling a piece of paper into a cone, with the small end enter your mini urn. You can also use a plastic sandwich bag the way you would for frosting.
using paper/newspaper/cardboard under the urn might be more appropriate while pouring the ash so any ash that would fall can easily be transferred back to the urn by just folding the paper/newspaper/cardboard into a cone and tap the ash for easier transfer. unlike with cloth, which will just trap the ash on its surface and could hard to take out if you still wish to have those ash that have fallen to be added back into the urn.
This is a great option! We'll recommend this.
