During my greatest darkness, Ive read His word.. I am the light of the world. I realized, its better to be depressed with my faith, rather be well without faith..

This is so affirming. I know for so many years I did not understand that depression is not a weakness, it is an illness. If our bodies are ill we get help without question . It is the same for depression and our minds.
I have found that with medication & counseling I can handle episodes of depression better. I too have learned to be ok to not be ok. To press into the pain and reach out to safe people when I cannot gather perspective. As I allow myself to be more and more overwhelmed at my salvation and Gods love I find I am ok because I know He is with me in the pain. I cannot even describe the things he has taught me there. Body, mind, spirit. We are all three. To those hurting let me give you hope. You are needed here, and you are worth fighting for. Reach out - we need you and your voice here for all of us. Just like Sarah.

I work with people in despair and this is magnifying. They don't have the ability to articulate what you have here. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you. You are such a precious soul.
    The stigma must go.
The understanding of the agape love of God must increase in knowledge to people of faith. It's so damaging when vacant. Our help always comes from the Lord but God's people need to be much more comfortable providing comfort to hurting people. This is an incredible resource to help with that. I hope every Christian leader takes this to heart or anyone who wants to be used well for Gods purposes. ❤
People of faith should be the safest place to the hurting and broken.
May God bless you abundantly, Sarah! I adore you and appreciate your help

There should be no shame in depression. Not everyone has hope. Especially through GRIEF.

I agree, but I believe that we all have hope-sometimes it’s hard for us sufferers to see it.

Thank you for sharing. I often feel so alone. Christian’s, of no fault of their own, tend to either move away from me during my times of depression l, or give me scriptures of how I can overcome. I realize they don’t understand. That’s why I feel so alone. Thank you for sharing.

I've struggled with depression all my life thank you Sarah for sharing your story. I even struggled with self image as well. I was diagnosed with Seratonin Syndrom which is severe depression I used to hide that due to pressure from relatives saying that true Christians and depression didn't mix.

Hello, Laura. You’ve been very open with us, and we recognize the kinds of emotions you described are often hard to deal with. Depression is a very complex issue that deserves personal and in-depth attention. You may also find it worthwhile to speak with one of our Christian counselors. Just call 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459) from 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. (MT), Monday through Friday. The Family Help Center staff member who answers the phone will arrange for a counselor to call you back. One of them will be in touch just as soon as they’re able. There’s no cost to you -- we just want to help in any way we can. In the meantime, we suggest you check out these resources (bit.ly/3PE0xGO) on depression and our resource list (bit.ly/3rzicaG) on this subject of interest.
It’s our prayer that, in the days ahead, God will surround you with His loving presence and help you to experience His never-failing love and care in your life. Grace and peace to you, Laura.

Beautiful. I am trying to understand what my sweet daughter had been going through for 6 years. Anxiety, depression, .... it breaks my heart.
As for the young people of today, I would like to see the connection between mental issues and cell phones. Children are so isolated from each other and have less interaction because of this technology.
    Thank you!

It's right in our eyes, it isn't invisible. . Have you considered face to face counseling, 6 years is a long time w/no insight and no break from chronic suffering.

Sadly some churches and christians look down on you and critize you through your depression. I've been called by friends mind you lazy, immature, and other stuff. I've had a very rough 3 years and lost my grandma. My mom lost her job a few months ago and so I've been paying the bills. I didn't expect this path at all I wanted to be married and build up a live but God chose this for me and it's hard but Ik he's with me. My Job doesn't allow me due to times to really meet with my church and my church got rid of their young adults group so my loneliness had grown alot but with this job I'm just making it with our finances but we need to fix up our house. Idk when I'll be able to pay for the upgrades and it feels I keep getting into a pit and it's made me depressed.

I have had extreme anxiety to extreme depression for over 15 months. The doctors have not helped me. god has not healed me. I have prayed and asked for forgiveness for every sin I have knowingly and unknowingly committed. I have asked, no begged for healing. Where is God? I can’t hold on much longer.

There are times in life when you know you can't save yourself but you need a savior. It can be that bad.
