Thank you for, not only making this video, but showing the noise first. Too many videos aren't showing the noise first, very specific noise this one

In case this helps anybody, my washer was making this exact noise. The culprit was the Shifter (also called the Shift Actuator). The Shift Actuator engages/disengages the plastic Splutch when the washer wants to either spin the entire barrel or just spin the agitator. My washer wanted to agitate, but the Shifter wasnt disengaging. Thus, the entire barrel was trying to spin when it wasnt supposed to. That's where the noise was coming from.
After replacing the Shifter, it works like a charm.
You can see Washer Dryer Money's video he posted in August of 2020 to see the in depth of how it works.

I just fixed my washer Whirlpool WTW4900BW0 with your video, Now my wife is pissed at me because she is not getting a new washing machine. I took off the nut and put on a washer and nut back on, Now the belt sits in the middle of the pully. Thanks 👍

Just wanted to say thank you! The belt on my washer started rubbing against the plastic cover and after watching your video I took the plastic piece off tighten the bolt centered the belt and put the plastic piece back on and started the washer and just like that no more noise! So thank you for your video.

My machine was doing this! I tried to tighten the 13 metric nut, but it wouldn't tighten any more. The pulley was still loose. I took the nut off of the yellowish pulley, and put 2 washers under it, about 1/16th of an inch thick, with both of them added up! I put the nut back on with locktite, and it made the pulley tight again! When i put the pulley cover back on, i put 1/16th of an inch worth of washers between the cover and the machine, because the pulley had been rubbing on the cover. It works perfectly now. Thank you for the video. You helped me find the problem!

I had this problem, and the instructions in the video are excellent. Like someone else who made a comment, I had to add a washer under the bolt to decrease the wobble, because my belt was sliding down even after I moved it back to the middle otherwise.

You just fixed my washer! God bless you, sir! Paid $100 for this set. Previous owner said it was overfilling. I didn't have a problem with it overfilling but 'The Noise' was happening. My machine looks exactly the same as yours and was making the exact same noise. Appliance repair guy says they don't even work on these auto sensing machines because they're too expensive to fix. Told me to buy a new one.

Warning!!!!!!! While this looks like it’s gonna fix my machine because the pulley was loose and the belt wasn’t centered, the cover, I couldn’t see from the other side!! When I fixed the problem, putting the cover back on, I tried to get more vision by tilting the washer more.. it fell!!!!! So I cracked the valve in back of the washing machine.. so my advice, UNHOOK EVERYTHING FIRST, THEN IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE HANDY, LET THEM TILT AS YOU REMOVE AND REPLACE THE COVER.. when you try to fix this, you’ll see what I mean..

@@jc_yadigg this fixed my problem. It was exactly what was wrong with the washer. I did break the valve part which costed me an additional $80 but I got it from an appliance parts store and did it myself. Easy.. but be careful.. but yes this video cured my problem.

Yes the sound of death the belt gears main pully are just worn ever so lightly replace that now its cookin with gas 😤! Dr. Strang thing came into play it was only when I looked at middle of the teeth that I seen the issue. I kept seeing the teeth on each end I kept saying it was good after I clean the black grease off is when I found the issue so get an ole tooth brush and clean the teeth first to look for issue.

@@mizsnikita5026 I took mine apart. Thought it was the washplate -Nope. Thought it was the splutch - Nope. Mine was the gearbox. Which is the transmission of the washer. $235 plus tax but they're sold out everywhere. I bought a new one Wednesday.

    Center the pulley?
    Oh really?
Just how do you center the belt on the transmisson pulley?
Dude, how or where the belt lines up is determined by the motor pulley. Wherever the motor pulley is the belt follows. If you center the belty or move it anywhere on the transmissoin pulley, the belt will go back to where it is suppose to by the motor pulley alignment. And there is no such thing as any means to align anything . The motor just bolts where it bolts.
    What is this?
