    Awesome video buddy . I believe you will be good on the crank situation as i had the same problem years ago with one of my rebuilds.I wonder if you have room to turn down the rotor and maybe a thinner washer? I like the early year yz80s. Also maybe a three wheeler seat base rubber or a side cover rubber ( for exhaust side ) may work

      Thanks for the comment! Great insight on the flywheel issue. I normally use a DE Walt drill on the flywheel nut to spin engines over to start the first time but not this one!

    You were missing a pair of clutch plates for sure, new sprockets are available, do not understand installing used sprockets, I have restored a 1979 YZ80 to show quality, lots of new parts are available for the yz80's.

    Yamaha did not use the 4 bolts, most likely honda bolts.

      Hi Bob. Is this THE Bob Hurricane Hannah? Anyway I am always learning. It is guys like you that helps me as I go. Each restoration is uncharted territory for me and every one is a totally different bike so that makes it even more of a challenge.

    I just bought a 1975 Yamaha YZ 80 is this something I can do myself?

      Absolutely! Just follow this resto and other RUclipsrs and you will be fine. I have to tell myself from time to time if I get overwhelmed to just do baby steps each day and I am amazed at how quick it really goes.

      @@JTSCUSTOMS I just pulled the head of it’s going to need a new piston and some head work. The rod has a little movement side to side up and down it feels tight. Is that normal or will it need rebuild too.

    Do you sell these when youre done refurbishing them?

    • @JTSCUSTOMS
      @JTSCUSTOMS  Год назад +1

      Not right away as I like to look at them. When I am out of space I thin out the collection. Never know when just one day I say this is out of control and sell a few.

      @@JTSCUSTOMS We here in Shingletown could buy it.... It is all about price. In Shingletown, the money flows like a river of gold... John, the answer is, "Show me DA money." Since old "One Eyed Jerry" passed away, we no longer have someone to "keep and eye on you." I should have bought that Victory Vision from you. Missed the deal of a lifetime. Oh, miss you too John.

      @@ababbit7461 Hi Joe! Anything new in Shingletown? The news is out, Shingletown is one step above Rio Linda but they are gaining on you! How about a fleet if Honda ATCs for the " Mud Bog and Wrestling" kick of parade this labor day? They say Rio Linda is going to steel some of your visitors as they are having a Village Idiot convention that same weekend. People ask what's the thing with Shingletown. Some day we will need to do a video at your place and tell them all how it all came about. Love you Joe.
