Kyle Shanahan still has the training wheels on Brock Purdy, in many respects. Brock still has other levels of his game that are going to get better with more time, and more trust from his head coach.
Imagine a franchise QB who is making 50+ million a year, and his head coach doesn't even trust him enough to use an effective hard count in the right situations, or to call an audible at the line when he wants to change the play after reading the defense?
Kyle + Brock = Married to the moment. The word "pivot" doesn't even exist in Kyle's myopic mindset, and he has dumbed Brock Purdy down to his same level.
