I really recommend Nagoya!! I went to Nanzan down the road and the area is the BEST 🥰 Tokyo can be really intense, but in Nagoya, it’s a two hour to Osaka and Tokyo depending on your choice of transportation. I wish you luck! With everything going on, Japan keeps cancelling student visas. I’m really lucky I went in 2019.

Oh wow, I did a summer Japanese program at ICU years ago. I remember the campus being nice and green. But because it was a summer program I was using another student's dorm room, and he left SO MANY moth balls in his locked cabinets I could not breath at all in the room. Even after they broke the locks with a lock cutter the room stank and I spent the rest of the time sleeping in the shared living room on the floor. Waseda was an option for a college for my school's study abroad program, but I didn't select that program. I wish I did! I visited the Waseda campus. It was nice and central to a lot of things in Tokyo.
I also plan to study abroad for a year in japan starting next year :) I'm still not sure which university I want to apply to and I don't have much time left to decide and write my study plan it's such a hard decision happy holidays to everyone who's celebrating^^
Heyo im currently doing my study abroad (online 🙄) at Sophia. You didn’t mention they’re in your top 3 but if you have any questions feel free to ask me:)) But I will say they have an intensive Japanese course which fulfills all the requirements of your study abroad, so you only have to take one course and it’s the most well-rounded for language study in my opinion! It’s 3 hours daily in the morning and then you have the rest of the day free, so I’d imagine it would be nice to sight-see and go around Japan if you actually get to be there:)
