very cool was just looking on Amazon came across this I thought I needed a whole new machine in order to get this cutter. this will make my stitches come out perfect I always have extra fabric hanging over and I never know how close to cut it this was very helpful information Angelique
We don't have listed as compatible, but from what I see, it should be compatible. Let me double check this with the supplier just to be sure. I should know by tomorrow. Thanks!
We have a video demonstrating the Brother side cutter foot, which I found to work better than the Singer option. Both are low shank, I just prefer the brother one. If you go to our site and type #SA177 in the search box, the Brother side cutter comes up and it has a video.
have you tried the other side cutting foot? Singer makes another one that does the same thing. Just wondering what the difference was and if one was better than the other.
That’s a nice screwdriver you used to put the side cutter on. The one that came with my Singer is a joke. It’s about the size of a quarter and it’s slips. Very annoying. Do you guys sell that screwdriver on your website?
So what's the difference between using this and buying a serger? I'm thinking about buying a serger but can this be used instead of one? I don't plan on using it a lot but it'd be nice to have.
Hello there. Is this worth buying than an original serger? Coz it costs around 10000 Sri Lankan rupees for me. Please help me out And will this be compatible to Singer Quantum Stylist (digital sewing machine)?
I am interested in this foot. I have a Janome Magnolia 7318 which is a low shank snap on foot machine. Is there a snap on foot version?... Also I was looking on ebay for this foot, and the description said this works on 7 mm machines. My machine goes up to 5 mm, so are there different sizes of these feet? Thanks so much for the great tutorial and not using music in the background!... LOL
How sturdy is this seam? It worked great for scarves, but I was afraid to use it on a dress side seam, that it might come out from the stress of sitting etc. I had to zigzag every bleeping seam to prevent the fabric from unraveling, a time- and thread-consuming pain.
I am working with jacquard silk fabric and want this foot to work for the seam treatment for ravel prevention. But the silk must be too something or another. It keeps sewing in place and doesn't move along. What could be the issue you think?
It is a Singer H74. The stitch is the zigzag with a line. The fabric seems to not be moving along. Do you think I need to have a plate that is designed for thin fabric?
I think you might need to sew with stabilizer under the fabric. I really light stabilizer that you can trim off when you are finished. That will help the fabric feed better. What is your stitch length set to?
Yup, this foot works great with the Singer 1 (One). If you go to our website and enter #555790 in the search box, it will bring you to the exact foot for your machine.
hello just find your tutorial of machine feet so helpful....please can you tell me would you recommend the 32 pack of feet from homeoutlet that your tutorial advertises as I would like to build my collection up, I only want to buy quality not quantity so please help thankyou .....TEGGIE
Sewing Parts Online I found the Side Cutter II; same foot, smaller body, so it fits the Juki. Worked great and your tute was VERY helpful, as usual. I referred to several of them as I made presents this year. Thank you very much, Sarah!
Klutzy68 I'm so glad they've been helpful and thank you for the kind words! I have to admit, I frequently have to refer back to our videos LOL - there is just so much to learn, your brain can only store so much !
I subscribed! You can you it for seams - just make sure you use an overcast stitch that reverse stitches on itself for a solid, secure seam.

Same, it just clicked miraculously in my brain that they have a foot option
I know it works with knits, but I need to test it on lycra/spandex. I'll test it tonight and let you know what happens!
We don't have listed as compatible, but from what I see, it should be compatible. Let me double check this with the supplier just to be sure. I should know by tomorrow. Thanks!
I have shortcuts fot all 40 of you how to use feet. Thank you so very much.
It works on all singer low shank sewing machines. I can look up your machines just to make sure - What is your model number?
Sewing Parts Online will it work on the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 machine?

A serger is much faster and can do a wide range of hems and decorative stitches.

Obviously over time the blade will dull. Is it replaceable or do you have to replace the whole unit?
I wasn’t able to find a replacement blade… but Amazon sells the whole unit for $11.00.
Just Fantastic
Can you answer a question about a side cutter foot?
have you tried the other side cutting foot? Singer makes another one that does the same thing. Just wondering what the difference was and if one was better than the other.

Oh, I want one! Goes without saying this attachment takes up much less room than a serger!
julie taron It definitely does! It's a bit slower than a serger, but works nicely!

Hi I love all your video... I like to buy this foot, will it work on Brother XL2600i?
So what's the difference between using this and buying a serger? I'm thinking about buying a serger but can this be used instead of one? I don't plan on using it a lot but it'd be nice to have.
The difference is a serger cost several hundred dollars & this cost $12.00 on Amazon ☺️
do you have presser foot for all brands of sewing machine like Janome?thanks
Same same! I have a retired Janome machine. What a super cool presser foot!
Hello there. Is this worth buying than an original serger? Coz it costs around 10000 Sri Lankan rupees for me. Please help me out
And will this be compatible to Singer Quantum Stylist (digital sewing machine)?
How do you start and stop this seam? I can't seem to start at then end of the fabric. Do you back stitch at the beginning or end?
I am interested in this foot. I have a Janome Magnolia 7318 which is a low shank snap on foot machine. Is there a snap on foot version?... I wanted to buy this sewing foot. Would it work on a viking emerald 118?

Do the make one for the Brother sewing machines?
It depends on the model number. What is the model number of your Brother?
Sewing Parts Online CE8100

Would this work on an industrial sewing machine?
I have the cut n sew attachment but no foot was with it. Can I use my Bernina over cast foot?
I don't recommend doing that. What machine are you using with the Cut n' Sew?
Sewing Parts Online with my Bernina. I found my over cast foot #90. Works great. Thanks
How sturdy is this seam? It worked great for scarves, but I was afraid to use it on a dress side seam, that it might come out from the stress of sitting etc. I had to zigzag every bleeping seam to prevent the fabric from unraveling, a time- and thread-consuming pain.
Klutzy68 Hi! Its a strong seam, but I always reinforce high stress areas with a good old fashion straight stitch.
I am working with jacquard silk fabric and want this foot to work for the seam treatment for ravel prevention. But the silk must be too something or another. It keeps sewing in place and doesn't move along. What could be the issue you think?
Hi Joy - I'm not entirely sure. Can you tell me the make and model of your machine, as well as the stitch and stitch settings you are using?
It is a Singer H74. The stitch is the zigzag with a line. The fabric seems to not be moving along. Do you think I need to have a plate that is designed for thin fabric?
I think you might need to sew with stabilizer under the fabric. I really light stabilizer that you can trim off when you are finished. That will help the fabric feed better. What is your stitch length set to?
I think it's a 5.
Yup, this foot works great with the Singer 1 (One). If you go to our website and enter #555790 in the search box, it will bring you to the exact foot for your machine.
Can I get this foot for my New Lotus Elna sewing machine
Hi! Yes, you can buy it here: goo.gl/3beLiZ
What about stretch fabrics?
Mine is not cutting😩😩😩
Sewing Parts Online would this be compatible with my Singer Futura Quartet SEQS 6700
hairandmakeupme Hi! Yes, this foot is compatible with your machine.
is the side cutter universal ? i have a viking sewing machine,
Unfortunately, it is not universal and doesn't fit Viking machines.
@gladtidings4all ...work for my machine?
using a patterned fabric makes it hard to see what is going on. Maybe use some muslin and colored thread.
I wish u would of show up closer where to put the fabric show us the side of the cutter did not do a thing for me
My sister, who has been sewing for 50 years could not get hers to work. I've NEVER sen her fail to make anything "sewing" work.
