I know its 2 years too late, but you can skip all those steps, just take slide off, move the sear spring out of its socket, take sefety out the way you showed it and replace it. No need to remove grips, hammer spring etc
@Bruno Itey Hi Bruno, so glad you found my channel too! I will look into subtitles for the channel if possible! Glad you’re loving your favourite gun, it’s my favourite gun too. Be sure to check out www.ipscstore.com for all the awesome parts you’ll ever need for it! Merci mon ami!
Where did you get the extended safety lever from? That's like one of the most important bits of information we need. They're not available on the CZ-USA website.
If you can wait. czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/safeties/cz-factory-shadow2-safeties-amb.html. If you can’t wait. www.ipscstore.com/en/cz-shadow-2-oem-genuine-parts/2032-cz-shadow-2-ambidextrous-safety-set-with-wide-left-side.html
@Philmoscowitz Glad to help. www.Ipsc store.com has the best CZ Shadow 2 parts and excellent availability. I highly recommend the Eemann Tech springs and parts.
@AZVIDS Yeah, it took me a few concentrated shooting sessions to realize how much I miss it on the other gun that’s still running the flat safety. I like those kinds of epiphanies.
@Richard Bosnell I ordered from www.ipscstore.com. Even factoring in shipping and exchange, it still works out cheaper than in Canada, not sure how it translates in USD. You might be able to pick up the extended safety for less through a US retailer. IPSC Store has some really innovative parts you might not be able to source in the US though.
@Aero Imaging Soutions You can do it from the top without removing the main spring, but removing it, I find makes it easier because there’s no tension then. Thanks for the feedback!
Great to see you back! Nice looking pistols. Looks like a good year for chootin! I also really like a straight trigger. Just feels right to me. Long fingers? Don't know😁
@Bill Shadrick Thank you Bill! It’s good to be back at it, a combination of Covid, Trudeau Liberals and the weather were just the right trifecta to put me off my feed over winter. Looking like we’re in for a summer of “no summer” again, only the garden slugs are enjoying the year so far. Hope you are doing well!
Typically not too hard to do, just fiddly. Having smaller hands helps, if not, tweezers that haven’t been magnetized. I have a few pairs of non magnetized tweezers that I sometimes use when my fingers feel like thumbs. Another trick is to lay the gun on it’s left side and then install the spring and detent. Lay it down and push it back into position. The notches will hold it in place when you have it placed properly, The right detent will fall out, but that one is easier to reinstall.
@motoknivesandgunsbyjt Sorry. There is one safety detent on the left side that has the spring, the other half of the safety on the right side does not have a spring. Hope this helps! If you only bought one spring, that’s all you need. Just don’t lose it. LOL
@C Kim GOOD EYE! Yes, it was busted AND worn out, not much glow left. I replaced it, thanks for pointing that out. I can honestly say the front sights are never used with the optic on there.
Thank you for the tutorial. Where you located? Eeman tech is awesome. I have watch alot of your videos and now I love cz. I love my orange and soon to do an upgrade on my shadow 2. Thank you for the videos..
@Frederick Pascual I live in Northern BC Canada. Eemann Tech IS Awesome for sure. Way better than anything else I’ve tried. Glad you’re enjoying your CZ’s, they are the best guns out there and I can’t wait to see what they come out with next. Thank you so much for the nice feedback, I appreciate it!
I hate flat triggers. Too ugly and the reach is too far. I like the flat curved hybrids a lot though. What optics are rhe two? Have you ever tried holosun? They use the neat eotech reticle which is my favorite. Wish somebody would make a simple plus sign cross reticle.
Oooo, that’s an old video. Made during my wildly experimental days. The green and pink has a Leupold DPP;7.5, the flat triggered one has the Trijicon SRO 5. They both now have the Ultimate trigger ad the SRO. Not familiar with Holosun.
This could have been a helpful video, if the camera had actually been pointed at the firearm more than 10% of the time. Sad, but when it came to the reinstallation of the sear cage (for example), you simply couldn't see anything worthwhile! Virtually the entire firearm was out of view. I think it would also be helpful if these various videos made it perfectly clear from the outset, that the sear cage positively does NOT need to be removed to accomplish this installation, because reinstalling it can present significant headaches in some instances, depending on the specific firearm involved.
Yeah, admittedly I did not have my camera work figured out in these earlier videos, but majority of reviews are positive so I’m chalking you up to being one of those negative nanceys that have to complain about everything. Not sure if you own a Shadow 2, but the sear cage aka the ejector is a nonissue to remove and reinstall. That’s the Shadow SP-01 you’re thinking about where the whole thing falls apart as soon as you pop the pin holding it in place. The ejector comes out in one piece on the Shadow 2. But you said it yourself,…”depending on the specific firearm involved”. I’m hoping those people go to a different chanel, I only deal with the Shadow 2 or the 85C Combat. I’ll reshoot the video just for you. Gotta keep those gun Karens happy.
A swing and a miss there, Professor. I'm a 70+ combat veteran of Vietnam that owns the Shadow 2 Orange and AccuShadow, and has been packing, firing and field-stripping 1911s before you were a twinkle in your proud Daddy's eye, so get off the high horse, Princess, because you're WAY outta your element. The fact is, removing the sear cage on the Shadows removes the restraint on the the right side safety detent, which can cause the right side detent and safety lever to fall out, and like most teenagers, I know that you're a self-appointed, self-impressed expert on all things worldly, but the fact is, reinstalling it can present some degree of difficulty for those inexperienced amateurs out here, like me! Now get-on back to the mirror, Fan-Girl! 🙄
@@CZFanGrrlYeah, trust me, I get it. Your group is completely laughable to me too. It's kinda why my late father used to say . . ."hire a teenager while she still knows it all." 😂😂
@josephstewart5201 Hey remember that National Lampoon skit that was about the orange juice? The guys wife brings gives him some orange juice to try and he keeps trying to guess what it was and she kept telling him, “Wrong again honey”. Finally he loses it and screams at her “Wrong again honey, wrong again honey. Why don’t you quit saying wrong again honey and get out there and get me some f**king orange juice!!”. Yeah, that’s what I figured.
No, apology necessary! I’m completely open to critiques otherwise I wouldn’t be doing these things. Thanks for commenting and glad it helped in some small way. @changeyourparadigm, 👍

Good to see your out shooting again! Yep a extended safety is the way to go!

Did you order direct from eemann tech or from the Ipsc store. Of course talking about the single extended safety.

Thanks! I get most of my parts from www.ipscstore.com. I highly recommend the Eemann Tech parts, springs, etc.
What's the best way to replace the safety detent spring? I'm swapping it with a stronger one because the stock isn't positive enough for me. TY!

I bought it from www.ipscstore.com in Estonia.
Looks like your fiber optic rod is walking out of your front sight on the flat face trigger Shadow 2?

Can you make a video of this safety swap where you don't keep what you're working on in the very bottom inch of the screen?
Sure can, soon as I’m back from abroad. I think my camera work has seen some improvements.
