Nick, I have a question, I have come back to running after a long term injury, I nearly lost the ability to run forever and I have now realised this activity is something I need in my life. I currently serve in the British infantry so I relate to your story as a human. I find it inspiring. My question is that I have been told that a run under 1 hr 30 min does not require water or carb replen of any kind, as you run a marathon at such a pace, what fuel do you use on race day to keep you going. Thanks in advance if you get a chance to respond and best of luck in all your endeavours.
@@pack041 Same. I was hoping this video would start with him making coffee in the morning an telling what he ate for diner the night before. But I have to say, this video is still amazing.
@@jacco9585 Nah guys Nick has it right on the spot. It’s entertaining, informative and will bring a bigger audience in the future. Watching him gets me fired up every time!
I just completed my first half marathon yesterday and finished just under my goal of sub 1:45. As a business owner and father of 3 and one more coming in a few weeks, there was every opportunity give up training. Your videos have inspired me to keep going and get after it! Thanks Nick
I just took of 13 minutes from my marathon PR and qualified for Boston. I wouldn't have been able to do it without this series and your plan. Thank you so much!
Really get a lot out of your videos. I am 49 years old and just started running in October 2021 after losing 135 pounds. Have my first marathon in October 2022 in DC. Marine Corps Marathon. I am also a Army Veteran. Ft. Hood Texas.
I get super excited when I get a notification a new video has posted - always humble, genuine, and informative...your work ethic is inspiring. And I always enjoy Stef showing up 🤗
2:50 is legit impressive man. People who don’t log the miles don’t realize what that takes. I run 4-5 times a week and have just managed a 3:50 Marathon so far. But I’ll get there eventually. ;)
How’d it go man? I finally sub 4’d my last one in Hartford last year. I did the Marine Corps 50K in 5:59:50 in 2022. I collapsed at the finish line. I nearly killed myself for that time
You have me pumped up for this! Im currently 8 weeks out of running my first ultra for 50 miles. Your commitment and dedication helps keep me motivated - keep up the grind Nick! 🏃
I am training for my first marathon in May in Vancouver, this is perfect timing!! You've been a huge inspiration for me to set these new goals both physically and in business, cheers Nick!
I'm running BMO too. Looking forward to the race and the sea wall. Ran that portion the last time I was in Van. How's training going? Specific time goal?
@@kyleweagant5596 Last time you were in Van, cool, where are you coming from? This is my first marathon, trainings going all right, so i’ll be happy if I can hit a sub 3:40. How about you?
I'm in Victoria, so just a ferry ride away. This will be my first road marathon in 4 or 5 years. Typically run trail ultras, so I'm trying to get my speed back. But, I am hoping to get a Boston qualifier time and go sub 3
@@kyleweagant5596 bang bang! That’s fast man! I’ve ran a sub 40 min 10k about a year and a half ago but I couldn’t sustain it. I reckon I could hit a 3:20 for this if i’m on form
Such an awesome vibe to wake up to over here in New Zealand! 😀 Thanks for reminding us in every video that life's too short to play it small. So grateful to you for sharing your journey and knowledge with us 👊
Woah haven't watched a video of yours in months man, been grinding myself, great to see the progression in the endurance training. Physique clearly natural now too, respect.
So in to your journey Nick that I have to watch each series of events chronologically rather than jump in at any given point! Absolutely inspired by your determination and I take little bits of every episode and add it to my own my very very smaller scale journey! Great quality videos mate💪👍
I just finished my half sleeve this past week, and seeing the tattoo Nick has on the inner part of his arm, I know that had to have killed. That's all i had left to do and man I almost didn't make it. Kudos. Loving this new content!
Hey Nick, it was good to see you at the Austin marathon finish! (I was the guy in the Chelsea jacket) You've been one of my main inspirational figures for running a marathon and I want to run sub 3 one day!
As someone who already has a strong background and qualifications in health, fitness etc…, I already feel I have the tools to improve my endurance and strength, but I most likely watch this any way. Partly because, there may well be things that I can learn and reflect on, but mainly because it will be so exciting and rewarding seeing Nick go all in and work towards his goals and see his take on training, regardless whether I agree with it or not.
Thank you for your hard work, I've been watching for the past couple years and you have been a huge inspiration! Also. thank you for what you said regarding the mission of this series. How you first want to give viewers the tools and information they need to succeed, and then work on obtaining a sub 2:50. It means a lot that a company puts everything they have out for everyone to prosper! God bless!
Loving this idea Nick. I've been trying to find the balance of weight lifting and training for a marathon... and of course I managed to hurt myself testing those limits. Knee surgery in there near future. Post that I'll be brand new and ready to tackle it again. Definitely looking forward to seeing how you approach it.
I understand that the closer you get to 2 hours your “ Improvement curve” starts to flatten and performance won’t get better but I feel that Nick only shooting for 2:50 is him kinda being safe. I know he could easily shoot for a 2:47 with that big aerobic base. He’s trained at altitude as well so I’m kinda shocked. But 2:50 is a nice round number. In order to make up for his lack of ambition I will up mine
I am training for the Machen trail marathon (in Wales UK) in november 2023. After having had a break from running since 2018 and getting back into it. This is really motivating and im going to go for my first ultra next year now.... I was on the fence but going for an ultra now! Thanks
I am running the Paris Marathon next month, my first marathon. It seems I have developed shin splints, but they're controllable, so I'm continuing my training, while listening to my body and I'm hoping to be able to run well on the day. Marathon training is crazy, especially in combination with a full-time job and a social life. Good luck to all of you in the comments who are training for their own races! :-)

Nick since your following is growing so much, in order to get more engagement I recommend adding KM (as a little pop-up) so that non-US of A viewers can feel more involved. Personally, I would if I could see the stats on my screen right away.
A marathon is way out of reach for me, but good luck to everyone attempting to PR! I will join you guys when the time comes... In the meantime, thank you Nick for the entertaining videos and knowledge, the production quality keeps getting better and better. Props to you and the team!
Have you ever/will you post rep, set, and weight captions in your strength training videos? I feel that it gives more context to your training similarly to posting paces for easy, tempo, and long runs. Thanks! Best training content + education on RUclips!
13 weeks seems like a short space of time to train, after coming off the back of a 100 mile ultra; I think you could run faster than 2:50hrs if you allowed more time to train. However, if anyone will prove me wrong it will be Nick.
