Love the honesty about this routine. So many influencers act like they fall asleep at the exact time and never look at their phone etc. Consistently good rather than occasionally great!
Thank you so much Nick for making this video. I honestly have a morning routine myself that also includes Running and it has changed my life for the last five years. I find it hard to find hard to meet people that have the same routine that also includes Running weight, lifting and clean eating. That’s why I have term to social media to look up to people like you, Nick, who I can relate to to meet you one day.
As a dad of two boys under two years old, I have struggled to get back into a routine the last year and a half. I think I am going to just start setting that alarm and getting up and be intentional about things I do. Great information sharing here. Thanks!
I agree. I filmed a sample of my morning routine and its good to have a routine because it makes your morning efficient. You don't have to have a long morning routine. In fact just doing the same 15-20 minute routine is all you need.
I think Dr. Huberman elaborated on the adenosine/caffeine interaction in a later episode of his podcast and claimed that If you exercise early in the morning then early morning caffeine will not produce the same "crash" as it will for those who do not train early AM.
I do the delayed caffeine intake. First 7 days was very difficult but now 2 hours will pass in the morning and I don't even realize I haven't had caffeine. Energy is more consistent throughout the day.
hey, quick question nick. Are the "If it matters to you, you will make time" shirts coming back anytime or are they gone for good? I was late ordering one, since I waited for you guys to come to Europe. Anyways great video, you inspire me!
I also keep the habit of setting many alarms even though I now wake up on the first alarm without any snooze, or mostly even before 😅 Consistency in time getting up definitely is fantastic 😊
Hi Nick, great episode and also wanted to say I enjoy your videos! I have a few questions re: your morning routine: - coffee, do you have just 1 cup (8 oz) before run?, and/or do you have more coffee with breakfast following run? - do you eat anything before you go for run?, particularly at that early time? - do you run everyday?, I know you’re a big fan of running but do you find doing it daily puts any strain on joints etc. - do you add any variation to your cardio in the morning Thank you!
My husband and I have a pretty good routine going now that our two kids are on a good routine also but man are we both exhausted. He is out of the house by 5:45 for PT and we are lucky to go to bed by 10. We’re not even 30 and we feel so exhausted and tired. Maybe it’s because we have two toddlers, but my energy levels are struggling and so are his.
PT? Like training? Maybe that's why he's so tired. There is nothing wrong with prioritizing your young children for a few years. Just don't take selfies for a while
Thank you Nick for the perspective on consistent morning routine helps others especially our family to have a good expectation about our daily plans. A quick question, when you mentioned waking up at 5am everyday, does it include every Saturday and Sunday? What if there’s a late night, do you still push thru the next morning or sleep in a bit?
I agree with your stance on the 90 min. A productive morning fueled by caffeine and having a little bit of tiredness at 2pm is a much better tradeoff than me being a zombie all morning. I have tried delaying 90 min and you definitely do feel more energy but the tradeoff just isn't worth it. Huberman also says its fine to have coffee first thing in the am just be aware of the dip in energy levels.
I hate running if food or poop inside my body. Empty all the way! Vinegar and lemon mixed with water first thing in the morning will pushh that shit out.
My morning routine sucks i work overnights and have a 4 month old son. I find it very difficult to finding a way to get to the gym, go running, meal prep, and get adequate sleep.
Well brother I have that kind of routine now I have three children and when they were babies I could tell you there was no getting up at 5 being up at night with them
Actually its not hating its really fact but he is omitting that. I always respect commitment and transparency but unfortunately he isn’t being fully transparent.

Me personally being in the army can 100% relate to those 5am alarm clocks 😂
love your videos and podcast! would be happy if bpn expanded shipping to japan!

Your Joint product is the best!
I love it! Thanks, Nick for sharing and inspiring us with this honest conversation :) 👌😊
Natural light before blue light 👍
I love those kind of podcast
I literally just started trying out parts of the Huberman routine today!
The morning sunlight exposure is a game changer when it comes to sleep. I fall asleep almost immediately!
Thanks for this episode Nick! Loved it!

@@simontaylor2525 PT is physical training. That’s what they call it in the Army. It’s a requirement every morning to show up for formation.

That’s when you hit even more caffeine around the dip at 2pm 😈
Needed that one👊🏼

What watch are you using for training?
Where does your recovery fit into all of this mate ?
Obviously long days, other obligations etc but do you still or where do you put this in 👊🏻🙏🏻

Great name! My daughter is two and her name is also Charlie Grace.
Drink warm water instead of coffee... it will help with your bowel movement before the run...
How do you build a supplement brand? How do you start
First you have to make the supplements. Then sell them. I’m not an expert but hope this helps!
Would be a good idea to put "dad" first in the list.
I wish I can sleep more than 6 hours. Even if I go to bed at 9pm I end up waking up at 3 or 4 am hours before my alarm.
Great stuff as always! I do see you and your wife posting social content during 8AM - 5PM but it's okay - the intent is excellent! 🙂
I work the night shift.. I go to bed at 5am.
I miss your videos when you were an army leader.

Where does Jesus fit into all of this? Don't forget about Him
I saw him on my run this morning. Looking swole.
Broooo 😂
He's Jesus time is infinite

Pray before sunrise 🌅 and have gratitude always important to remember thank the creator for all the blessings .. and pray while you run being thankful
5am?? I sure wish I could sleep in that long🤦🏻
Read the Book of Mormon❤
