  • Need an installation guide for a aftermarket radiator? Well I am here to help guide you through the process! In this video I am switching out my stock Subaru radiator for an aftermarket high performance one from Koyo. In my opinion this is one of the best radiators you can buy on the market. Koyo is a very reputable brand with quality parts. To pair with the new radiator I picked up some Samco top and bottom hoses along with some new hose clamps. Not only does doing this install clean up your engine bay a lot, it also drastically improves the cooling capability of your vehicle. Who knew your car can get even cooler than it is now! ;) When installing a new radiator it is not required to upgrade the radiator hoses as well its just something I wanted to do. So don't think that you have to spend money on those if you do not want to. Below I linked where I purchased the Koyo racing radiator and the Samco radiator hoses. I will also link where I got the hose clamps in case you are interested in those as well.

    Why the fmic vs the tmic. Heat soak issues ?

    Can I burp it without the fancy funnel lol? Also how much did the temps dropped compared to stock? Heard a lot of good stuff about koyorad. Thinking of getting one. Love the channel btw.

      bigger radiator is like bigger brakes, it does nothing until you get to a point that the stock one would fail at
      in standard operation there will be absolutely no difference at all. temperatures will be exactly the same. you would change the temp if you wanted to with a diff thermostat
      its only if you go into driving situations such as prolonged high load, hard tracking, increased boost/power, or in high ambient temperatures that it will make a difference

    Did ur koyo radiator come
    With the cap? Or are they all sold separately

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  2 года назад +1

      It did not come with any cap. I used my OEM cap and it works just fine but I did order the aftermarket koyo cap that they sell.

    What's the part number on your koyo. I have mine but I haven't started the channel yet. I took it out of the box for inspection but it didn't look as thick. Hmu when you get a chance.

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  2 года назад +1

      I have the part number down in my description. I believe they only make one Version of this radiator for my car.

      @@BeeAboveAverage # KOY VH091662, I don't know if it's because I have the Mishi X-Rad and it's thicker than my koyo. But then again I haven't taken the stock one out for comparison with the 3. Thanks for the confirmation 👍

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  2 года назад

      Yea the X-rad might be a little bit thicker than koyo, it could also look like it’s thicker in my video but I assure you we probably have the same one :)

    • @BeeAboveAverage

      They sell a cap that you can replace your OEM cap with, which I did purchase just haven’t installed it yet. But you can indeed use your original radiator cap.
