Everyone recognized his voice, but his true genius was his music production.
You got that RIGHT my friend... :)
You have to understand that he was extremely talented. He performed with a full orchestra where he wrote all the music, arranged and produced the whole thing. And of course his iconic voice. A true giant

Barry was known for his deep voice & romantic image. He had a lot of songs especially in the 70's such as "You're The First, The Last, My Everything", "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Baby", "Practice What You Preach", "Never, Never Gonna Give You Up", "What Am I Gonna Do With You", "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Bit More, Baby", "Let The Music Play" etc.

Oh hell yeah. The groove in this song is so damn funky. Right from the beginning when it’s just the drums. And it keeps building layer after layer. Guitar, electric piano, strings, horns, etc. But it never loses that groove. And of course Mr. White can do no wrong with that voice. What a treat!
I think the closest song with this same vibe I can think of is Spottieottiedopalicious by Outkast. You might like that too if you haven’t heard it.

Ashley, a 1:30 sec intro is nothing really, that’s light. Check out the Temptations “Masterpiece”. The recording is 13 mins long with an instrumental intro of about 3 to 4 mins. This song is one of my favorites by them. At no time is the word masterpiece even mentioned. The song in itself is the masterpiece! Please check it out.
