- When I heard there was a city in Demark that had gained independence from Copenhagen, and was anarchist, I knew I needed to visit. My trip did not disappoint. This was an eye opening experience to say the least

As a dane who has been to Christiania many times, being a foreign tourist and allowed to film a stand is quite impressive.

I work there and have seen people filming places were they shouldn’t (like this guy👆🏽)
And they just smashed there cameras, and that was because the lady insisted on filming even though she was told 10 times to out the camera away

Because he was filming in pusherstreet! But yes its rare, but still i seen it personally so yeh it do happen. I dunno now days, but i would think its even worse now days.
Great video again. You should not worry being in Christiania. I think only 150 tourists a year gets mortally wounded. Some time less. During the pandemic it was way less. Just kidding. I have never heard of a tourist being killed in Christiania

There has been a development in Christiania.
First, a little background info. It is actually not the citizens of Christiania, that sells the Hashis, it is controlled by outside violent gangs.
A couple of months ago there was a shooting in Christiania and one person got killed. Christianias citizens have officially asked the Police for help, they want the weed sale out of Christiania.
So now Christiania is a temporarily a zone, where the police can frisk you without any course. Patrolling from the Police will be intensified, and I guess there will be civilian dressed police too.
Frisk zones have been tried before, in areas with high crime. It gave good results.
If you are in Christiania and police want to frisk you, let them do it. They will not beat you up. To that, I will say weapons are not allowed in DK without a permit. Getting caught with a weapon is 1 year in prison, no discussion. NOTE: Knifes, with a blade over a certain size, are considered as a weapon. So let your Magnum and machete stay at home.
Tip: Sometimes the citizens make guided tours, I really can recommend that.
EDIT: If stopped by the police, you have to inform them about your name, birthday, your current address. If indited for something, you are allowed to lie as much as you want (not a good idea). Cooperate and you will have a good chance to just get a warning, if it is a minor offense.

I seen back some 10-15 years ago a tourist who didnt respect it, he got stripped down naked, beat up a bit, and then dragged out on the public street for ambulance to pick him up!
Its not for fun that it says no filming, please if you come again, respect it!

Drug trade is the most common crime committed in Christiania, it happens every day. Sometimes also killings of gang members who sell drugs by other gangs.

They just stopped drug selling 3 weeks ago (the locals living there are not the ones in control of the drug selling) it is gang member from other parts of copenhagen doing the drug selling - but the local “christianians” picked up the road blocks to stop the drug selling indefinetly
I question myself this place if they have rights why do the police get heavily involved for example in Canada weed now legal why can't they make it legal?? Makes you wonder I'm Canadian why I am wondering why Denmark 🇩🇰 can't leave that community alone
They are not an independent nation, at all. They like to think they are, but really they are just a neighbour in Copenhagen. They're danish citizens, and get all the benefits that any other citizens does and therefore also have to live by the same laws. This guy has been wildly misinformed. I personally support the community's right to live as they please, and the sale of marijuana shouldn't be a big deal; but they are just a homeowner's association, essentially. The government chose to let them take over the old naval base as a social experiment (what happens if the hippies get their way) but the community only exists because the Danish government lets them.

It is an artist making the wooden trolls. You can buy your own troll if you got the room and the urge. I think they are cool too. There are NO hard drugs at Christiania but they have to prevent photos since you in Denmark are not allowed to buy or sell Hash. But you are allowed to have 5 grams on you without any action but potential confiscation. If you film those selling, they risk police see your photos and thus can use it in court. It are not an unreasonable demand. Keep it and you, and they, will have no problems. Denmark simply have a pragmatic official attitude towards this soft drug. That you got to film there are a first, never seen that before. I urge anyone to not try to replicate. As you were eating just 100 m from where the police action were also shows that the police are going after the trade, not rest of Christania. There are many good places to eat there and often fine concerts. Danes like to come by and have a cold beer in the green surroundings, there are many reasons to visit Christania.

a very misleading film. apparently positive guy, but why should we see him himself, talking to himself and his camera. nobody today anywhere in the world lives outside the law. why are the police there then? then he films himself, with his children, after he tells his wife he has almost been beaten up? and she seems like that, a little sweet, and - good soup? it seems like passivity bullies. if we look at the USA, the Americans dare not have their children out in their private gardens, security is great. so I have to give thumbs down for this misleading video. A bit disgusting actually. Because it's okay to be so naive today. who are the children his own? is it the couple's child? how do you do that? say, "there are no laws here" and take their children in there? Imagine if something were to happen to those children? Are those children then lawless? I don't understand what the point is? the soup? his wife? his talk about being assaulted?
