- Maysie/Daisy and I finally get to do an overnight at my new bushcraft shelter- and It's a full moon! In this episode I work on my shelter, then enjoy the evening campfire and a flame-charred steak with mushrooms and ramps. During the night there is plenty for Maysie to bark at in the dark woods- but what was that crash? Then in the morning, another breakfast to die for.... and of course coffee and more fire. Life is good. It's better with fire!

There's nothing like a night or 2 in the woods. We ride 4 wheelers because my old behind would die trying to get far enough away from people to make me happy. ❤

I enjoy your videos of camping out in wilderness. You are such a hard worker. I use to camp out in the everglades wildness when I lived in Florida, especially loved traveling the everglades wilderness waterway from Everglades City to Flamingo and back. I love even more camping out in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness of Montana where I moved to in 1976. I founded the Montana 500 mile sled dog race in 1982 and camping out with my 16 dog team. Now I really miss those days, but I'm 75 years old and recovering from a cancer operation.

Da Woof is one amazing dog, and you are a fascinating woman! Your shelter is a lot of hard work but you have to be proud of yourself when you are laying in your sleeping bag looking up at what you accomplished
When I was in the boy scouts. I did a lot of camping but when my mom and dad took the whole family camping by the river. It is the one trip that still stands out with me.I miss those types of family outings.

Brooke, I have to admit, when binging on your videos, (as I have for the past few days..., depression and anxiety, blah, blah, blah...), I have broken at least one of the Ten Commandments. "Thou shalt not covet..."!! Watching you, Dave and the woofs do all these wonderful things, just makes me so desirous of what you are capable of, the simplicity you enjoy after all the hard work..., my green eyed monster comes roaring to the forefront. Through that green haze, I do glean and apply in my life what I can. At 60, with medical complications, it isn't possible for me to walk that walk. So..., I binge watch, dream and wish I could start life again in my 20's, with a healthy body, you on my laptop to teach me all the ins and outs of living a wonderful, adventurous and in "my" eyes a less stressful life. Many thanks to you for sharing with us all that you do and sending wishes for many more interesting and cool adventures!! *Sorry so VERY long winded!*

I was 8 or 9 when I saw that movie and it scared the CRAP out of me! Couldn’t get it out of my head. I’ve been afraid of the dark ever since.
I am an old timer at 55 years old and i havnt seen someone make survival shelters as well as you have in a very long time you know how to do it right so keep up the great work.

When you camping out I sleep in a semi sleeping bag and take your shoes and boots off you should put your shoes and boots inside sleeping bag with you so they keep your body heat so when you put them back on it will be cold

so ok ... in all honesty ,i think this is the best video of them all ,you put up shelter taught us a few things ,but it was real from start to finish ... from the dog barking to you singing ...that was real ...down to earth .thanks again and i can actually dream that im the one in the woods cus of the natural noise .have a good night

I didn’t walk for years due to a horrific accident and was told I would never walk again which I do. I’ve been to many countries working with indigenous people groups. And I absolutely love what you do. Although I’m a hard worker I could never pull off the labor that you do on a daily basis. And my gosh this video is amazing and I would love to be able to do something like that. But I know my limits so thank you for sharing your life it makes me smile every time I watch one of your videos you’re an amazing woman keep it up!
Training for something ? On the seacoast of NH we had snow today. I wish I was young again. I would be in our woods doing the same. Your steak sold me! But we use to boil lobsters and corn on the cob from the ocean only feet away. And yes large amounts of beer! I know you like to answer all email comments and I will stop for a while to give you one less to worry about, But trust that I am still here watching
There’s definitely something special about a fire! The power went out from 8pm - 2:45. Immediately I started a fire in the fireplace, and I was so relaxed and wanted to go to bed., sadly it’s a wood fireplace and not a wood stove so I needed to feed it often and monitor it till the power came on! I really want a wood stove now! And then I will have no power days! I think that would be amazing and relaxing. I also want to build a shelter on the property and have a fire and sleep outside! Sounds so perfect! Enjoyed your singing too! 🦋

Wonderful overnight! Great shelter, great fire, wonderful moon, beautiful surroundings, char broiled steak on an open campfire with mushrooms and leaks, and for breakfast? A breakfast burrito. And no need to drive someone and pay money for half the size burrito not nearly so good. Awesome. Just awesome. Thank you for filming this and editing and uploading. So relaxing to see once you got to the campfire. It does make the work seem well worth it.
I had to chuckle when you talked about Mazzy putting herself to bed at 8 o’clock. My dog does the same thing. This was a nice way to spend some of my Saturday night with a glass of wine. And, Happy Mothers Day to you!!

Love campfires, fireplaces, but with COPD not so good- - but will still go when group goes to the field. Was better when horses were our ride, but us old codgers not as spry these days!
