- A long long time ago I sent in a submission to PCGS. My goal was to get an MS65. Here are the results of that submission.

PCGS turnarounds are like a tempermental girlfriend you're frustrated but yet you stay. Nice reveal
😂
Beautiful coins. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. Great additions to your hoard.
Thanks for watching!
Really helpful video. Thanks
What a great bunch of Morgan's! I frankly thought the MS65 should have been a 66 and your 64 should have been a 65. Thanks for the video!
Thank you! I appreciate it 🙂
Thank you!!
Surprised by the cleaned grade on the 85 O, still had wonderful luster and the cartwheel effect, gorgeous coins
Yeah I’m surprised on a few of them. Thanks for watching!
I have a bunch of morgans im turnimg in too. I love these reveals
Love how you show approx values!!👍
Thank you! I just follow the PCGS value guide even tho it’s a little high.
Very cool I love these vids
Hi Silver King87! I've subscribed to your channel! Nice video content! 😎
@@LegacyStacker oh cool thank u very much. I will sub u right now too
Really cool
Hi LucasLikesCoins! I just subscribe to your channel! Nice video content! 😎
I question some of these grades. I don’t see anything wrong with the ‘98. I wonder if they even look for the VAMs.
So I had about 4 months worth of coins all come back at once. They had very obvious vams not attributed, I got a quarter labels a nickle and was charged for things I shouldn’t have been. I think they are rushing things though and they’re new graders aren’t being trained well enough or not trying.
Just because it's a vam doesn't mean PCGS will attribute. All dollars are Vams. @@rockysramblings
The 1898 they said was cleaned, does the luster seem as good as other mint coins? I think maybe its dipped, and the luster is dull.
Wish my 1883-O looked as nice as your’s lol i have mine between AU58 to MS61 due to the poor cheek being beat up and fields being marked up… the eagle side looks great tho.
That always seems to be the case! I don’t understand why the reverses are always so nice yet the obverses are always beat up. I have far too many like that.
Little tip - Do not request an attribution from PCGS unless you have seen another coin in a PCGS holder with it listed. They are notorious for not recognizing as many of them. ANACS recognizes the most attributions and varieties than any of the reputable grading services. All depends on how you collect. If the attribution is valuable then I am sure that PCGS will recognize it.
Yeah I’ve learned not to go for the minor ones since I sent this in.
I don't get how those first 2 are the same grade
I would definitely take pictures before sending them in to make sure they don't swap them.
Well that’s one of the reasons that I make these videos. One time I did think they returned the wrong coin so I referenced my vids here and made sure they didn’t.
Pretty decent results.
Was hoping for better but that’s always the case
if you're not aware PCGS does have a you tube channel talks about grading eye appeal and so on, just thought I would mention it. also, I think red book must recognize the error.
Nice
Id say that 1880s is PL
I swear half the raw coins on ebay are cleaned. It's tough to tell in photos.
So I also have an 1885 o with a dimple in the same exact spot on the eagle... any clue what would cause that?
Well now that’s interesting. As far as VAMS go I’ve never seen anything with that. I thought it would be considered damaged or repaired. Now you’ve got me wondering what it could be. It’s seems to be dead center on mine.
That's interesting. Curious if it's some sort of strike error... I can send you a photo of it to show you the dimple.
@@dereklogue7794 sure thing! You can send it to my Instagram. Just look for RockysRamblings. Same pic
Lines dont equal cleaned anymore. Some These morgans been dipped 20 times by now lol
Pretty good results. Seems like Morgans are the only thing consistent with PCGS here lately.
As far as the grading, yeah. But they have missed some pretty obvious vams I requested. I’ll be doing some videos on that in the coming weeks. I’m pretty disappointed with them on these last orders.
@Rocky’s Ramblings they "didn't look at" a Type B Washington I recently sent in. They are making good on it and sent a shipping label to correct the mistake but had I been unsure of the variety I'd be out $9 and roughly half of the coin's value due to their error/omission.
@@Indigone_Demon that’s interesting because they missed a type B on my recent order as well! I’m traveling currently but I’m gonna be having a strongly worded phone call with them when I get back.
@@rockysramblings I sent them a not so happy email, the true view, and even the Jason Cuvelier's (CONECA lead variety attributor) pictures on how to tell. A Type B is just too easy to see for them to be "missing it".
@@Indigone_Demon I absolutely agree. What’s worse is in the same order I had proof and uncirculated together. They literally could see the difference in the order and they still “missed it” Just lazy if you ask me.
Are most of your submissions raw Morgans or do you ever buy SEGS, ANACS, PCI, etc. to crack out and send in?
Haven’t done any crack outs yet. So far only Raw
I have seen coins with that fingerprint , still get ms65. Is it from manufacturing? or is PCGS getting sloppy and encasing coins with no gloves?
I wouldn’t put it past PCGS but I’ve seen that on old Morgan’s as well. I think it may be from someone a long time ago and the slight toning makes it pop.
@@rockysramblings it’s weird because PSA and PCGS are the same company. If you sent a card with a fingerprint, it would never get a 10. Surprised the fingerprint coins can gets ms65
The reason that (the 1879) received the "AU58"...has nothing to do w/"corrosion". 100% of the reason (that it was not 60 or above): is per grading definitions: namely, if there is ANY WEAR on the coin, it WILL NOT GET MINT STATE. IT MUST GET 58 OR BELOW. So, you received the HIGHEST GRADE, SHORT OF MINT STATE. (That) is the entirety of the reason for 58 grade; they'd detected the smallest amount of wear. Thanks for the video.
It’s nice to get some input as to a “why” Thank you and thanks for watching!
You bet...thank you for the video.@@rockysramblings
My last box was so bad I quit sending coins in. Guess my eyes are done even with a camera.
It can definitely hurt sometimes.
I started using anacs alot more . It's better to have a ms 61 details grade then just xf details . Atleast u get a grade .
I love watching these videos but you must have a never ending money supply. :) Just to acquire all these morgan's isn't cheap and then the fees to send all that in to be graded have got to be crazy high. I do love watching the reveals though.
It is quite pricey. I went a little insane with purchasing coins over the last year and a half. But I love it! And I like sharing it with everyone. So I’m glad you enjoy it too!
Hi GA Silver Hunter! I've subscribed to your channel! Nice coin roll hunting videos! 😎
@@LegacyStacker thanks Legacy Stacker
I think that cleaning should be judged just like bag marks. Just knock it down a grade or two or three like you would for any other type of damage.
L and I in liberty touching?
I'm not sure what you're referring to?
Otherwise,
Beautiful coins and some disappointing grades from the looks!
Liberty is written on the head band. That’s the one I’m talking about. 👍🏻
@@rockysramblings Ah 💡 Thank you! Lol
@@rockysramblings I must've been half asleep! 😆 For the life of me I couldn't think🤔 ,,, where's liberty lol!
I learned not to get hold shield unless i think the coin is gonna be +$500
The thing is the pics are included with it so I figure it’s worth it.
I cannot believe the spread of an MS63. Some to me looked like an AU58, others like a MS64 and everything in-between. PCGS sux the big one.
You've got some real beauties there.
Thank you!
I have a problem with many of the Details designations just from the standpoint of a collector. You can have a very nice coin that that is given Details because of difficult to see hairlines or slightly reduced luster from dipping. But then a supposedly non-cleaned coin that is given a 61 or 62 and looks horrible because of bag marks. I would probably choose the cleaned coin in that case.
How does it only cost 9 bucks for grading?
Sorry. That’s just the variety attribution. It’s $18 but then if you don’t get the attribution they only charge you half. The grading ranges anywhere from $22 or higher depending the service.
Alright thanks!
Hi TomkinsCoinsAndCurrency! I just subscribed to your channel! Nice channel icon! 😎
When you do the reveal, you are aware the grade is in the barcode serial number, yeah? So we see it before you reveal the grade stamp. 😮
Yeah, I actually made a comment about that but edited it out. 🤫
4 months! That's ridiculous !
Ha! My last order took 6 months 🤦🏼♂️
Could you please hold the coins closer to the camera
I’ll do my best. Sometimes it’s a focus issue.
PCGS lists all the varieties they holder.....why not look them up first? Waste of good money.
I’ve addressed this in other videos. At the time of this video I thought they covered all the varieties.
That 1880 S is a Stunner!!!
Thanks!
Very inconsistent grading, it looks like. Maybe you got the interns... 🙂
Yeah. PCGS is dropping the ball lately
The whole 'Cleaned' grading is absurd. Clean anything else in this world and it just brings out the original intent. But not so for coins, ridiculous.
I wouldn’t send them in to pcgs , too common and low ms , not worth the money. Hope you do better next time
I was just looking for an MS65. Normally I wouldn’t have sent in those dates.
Why the hell you keep saying on HIS chin I mean you do know it's LADY liberty
Lol I caught myself saying that. Cmon man. We can’t all be eloquent linguists like Biden.
@@rockysramblings now that's a good one
Ah, com on man!@@rockysramblings
Once again you fail
Wrong again
The profile on the Morgan is a she not a he.
Yeah I know…. I’m gonna catch a lot of crap for this 😆
