I've been using this phone for few months already and I'm very happy with it, it has almost everything what I wanted in a smartphone. Dual front facing speakers would be better but not really needed, I never missed a call.

Smart phones are all well and good but many have really bad microphones and call speakers so have poor call quality, the whole point in a phone. I'm not interested in if it can identify my finger print, which they often get wrong or how many stupid pointless identity gathering apps it can get. How much more data do the Russians want.

It's only cause reviewers kept complaining about Sony's volume rocker position; because they are switching between 100 cellphones. I've been using one Sony phone after another, and as an extended user you get use to using your ring and pinky finger if you ever change the volume in the middle of the call. But if you set it to a volume position it stays at that volume... Mainly extended media users use the phone in a horizontal position to watch video, that's where the volume rocker is useful on the right... As well as taking photos, when pinch and zoom is too sensitive and want to zoom with the volume rocker, because it's next to a dedicated 2-stage shutter button which most phones do not have.
1:05 doesn't it technically have Quick Charging 2.0 with a UCH-20 charger, It may not have Qualcomm 3.0, but it was known when they announced their first XA, and XA Ultra mid-range line.

Dont complain that much and do your own reviews fellas, dont like a video? Leave without a word. Now, the phone is really good for the price. Touch issues with the edges happen, but not that often. Camera is good, small sized and light. The only things I hated about this phone were. 1- 720p resolution screen. I dont really care about it that much but sometimes you just cant unsee it. 2- Battery life. On heavy duty (Say using RUclips or Messenger a lot), battery lasts barely a full day.
you are wrong about the software it hase features for audio it has clear audio plus and full constol of eq for display you can control the white balance for the battery it has stamina mode wich is the best battery saver option and there alot of themes just forget the ones in the whatsnew app , in play store there alot of free Xperia themes and they are small in size you should try them and for camera. you can install apps from play store such time shift burst and timelaps
How exactly did Sony handle Nougat? Specifically: Did Sony leave in the UI Tuner? Does the XA1 allow the user to remove the drawer icon/button from the dock, allowing for the swipe up function to open the apps drawer? Or did Sony disable that Nougat feature?
You, like other video reviewers, are trivializing steadyshot. It is the most important camera feature which allows creation of useable videos when compared to cameras with zero stabilization.
Ever since the Oreo update my XA1 has been dropping calls , it's become sluggish as well.. it never happened before Oreo... fix it quick sony or i'm jumping ship.

I bought this phone 11 months ago. Arter 5-6 months it had touchscreen problems. I sent it to warranty. They changed the screen. When I took my phone back, I saw some different colour pixels on the screen sides. I sent it back to the warranty and now waiting. I wanted my money back. If they pay it, I will buy a xz premium. I wish Sony corrects this mistake and pay me back. İ not, thats a shame for Sony. (Xa1 touchscreen problem is chronic in TURKEY)

Amazon ad seems to think this phone with Android Nougat 7 supports "rapid charging" (Pump xpress+ 2.0) can anyone confirm this since this review comments that it does not have rapid charging due to the MediaTek Chipset processor????
Ben Saini I can't tell you for sure but I have this phone and it charges so much quicker than any other phone I've had and the battery lasts really well :)

It charges pretty quickly. I don't use it much for gaming other than a couple of facebook games and it handles them pretty well.

I think it's 5 MP so it's OK, but the main camera is excellent. 23mp.

Ronand Raveche xz doesn't have a motion eye cam, xzs & xz premium has it.
Xz it's a flagship
XZ camera is better, however, XA1 sports the same sensor from the Xperia Z5, so, it should still be very good.
