Our first repair cafe wasn't an easy one; replacement of a stripped gear in the Cozmo robot lifting arm. But when a 10 year old boy is stuck at home during a pandemic and misses his robotic friend, who can say no?

Replace it's electronic motherboard with new LCD 💡 lights.. Replace it's sensor, mic, its 3 rc motor..one on its waist and two rc motor on its leg ironman robot legs

haha it was too small to 3D print otherwise that would have been the initial approach.

The part didn't need replaced in the first place. The lift doesn't have full 360 range of motion and the part was only damaged in one area. Turn that part about 90 degrees and it is fixed. No need to even replace it.

Hey, can I pay you to fix my cozmo, u charged him all night and he had the solid green, he only lasted for 6 minutes and 32 seconds, he normally lasts an hour but since i haven't seen him in four years his batteries have been dying out, I can't decide what I'm going to do and I don't wanna break the little guy, they still have cozmo's batteries on ebay but I'm afraid of him not working again because I accidentally broke something, any pointers?

Great idea, in the virtual cafe how do you deal with needy customers who have a problem getting hands on themselves? IN a real cafe you can help them start, how do you do this online?

It's probably the biggest drawback to going virtual. While it's certainly not as valuable as getting hands on, hopefully the smaller impact of observing and pulling back the curtain of what it takes to repair still provides some value.

Hi, for US based customers I would like to recommend Bill from eBay for battery replacement and other fixes. I recently purchased used cozmo from ebay and the battery was not lasting more than 5 minutes. I have used services of Bill from ebay. He did excellent job of replacing the battery (I tried to replace the battery myself but ended up damaging the wheels - he replaced the wheels and replaced the battery as well) - can't wait to see my daughter happy to play with Cozmo again! if you have damaged cozmo, he has trade in option as well. I have put the links below. I highly recommend him for people who love cozmo but unable to play because of battery or other problems.
