  • How to fix a flat on the rear tire of a Hiboy Max Pro
    (I will likely make another video showing the whole process more clearly the next time I get a flat)
    But here are my written instructions:
    (Most of this will become clearer when you are actually doing it)
    Take off the orange stickers and remove the plastic pieces that cover the wheel nut using 4mm Allen wrench.
    Remove the wheel nuts
    Remove the washers with the tabs.
    Slide the wheel assembly out of the frame
    Look out for the washer that is a spacer on the right side axle
    Remove the wheel ring on the right side. 6 screws that are 4mm Allen wrench.
    Pull out the drum brake from the hub. It just slides out. No tools. Don’t undo the cable or anything. Just let it hang there while you work.
    Pull the ring on the right side off. It doesn’t come all the way off because of the motor wiring. That’s ok.
    Take the nut off the valve stem and push the valve stem through the hole in the rim.
    Pull both the tire and tube off the right side of the rim. Again they don’t come all the way off because of the motor wiring. That’s ok.
    Now pull the tube out of the tire and the pull it over the hub and off the left side of the wheel. It will work. It’s just a pain. Note: You can take both the tube and the tire off the left side of the hub pretty easily. It’s probably easier to do that.
    Now you have your tube out all the way.
    Now put the new tube in over the left side of the wheel. Pull through the tire.
    Make sure the valve stem is in the right place to go through the hole in the rim.
    Put it through the hole. Put the nut on the valve if that’s the type of tube you’re using.
    Shove the tube into the tire.
    Push the tire and the tube back onto the rim. This isn’t easy. Just keep at it until you get it.
    Then put the ring back onto the rim and hold it all together.
    Put the screw back to fasten the ring to the wheel.
    Now the wheel, tire, and tube should all be where they need to be.
    You can inflate the tire now.
    Put the washer/spacer back on the axle on the right side.
    Slide the brake assembly back where it goes on the left side.
    Slide the wheel back into the frame.
    There is a channel on the brake drum that has to slide in the right way. Look at it. You'll see how it goes.
    Put the washers with the tabs back on.
    Out the nuts back on and tighten with 17mm wrench.
    Then put the plastic covers back on.
    Deflate the tube completely. Then re inflate it to 35-40 psi.
    You're done.

    You are a life saver. My scooter’s back tire just deflated a few days ago and this video was here in time to save the day. Thank you very much. I appreciate you.

    Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Have to ask, does it matter if you use the vent valve stem? I’m over here patching because I punctured the replacement short stem
    My advice
    Once you get the tire off on the side with the power wire, slide the new or repaired tube over the wheel and out past the tire over the wire, then put the tire on half way (as in one side completely sitting on the rim), then put the inner tube valve first into the tire. Muuuuch easier this way and don’t have to wrangle it at ALL. Do not partially inflate the tube before placement, that’s crazy
    Good luck all

    thanks for sharing an instructional video of fixing a flat tire. I haven't made a purchase of max pro yet but will do soon. I wanted to get some ideas of how to replace parts on my own. Hiboy website doesn't offer replacement parts...for Max Pro. what a bummer, but you figured a way to do it. much respect to you sir.

      Glad it was helpful! The next time I have the privilege of changing a tube I'll get better video. But this should get you through the project when it comes time.

    How come they say tubeless on the tires itself. But they have tubes? Mine says tubless but has tubes

    I'll tell you after owning gotrax and this being my first hiboy I'll go back to gotrax just for how much easier it is to change the tube

      @jeffreyned  25 дней назад +1

      I've never had a Gotrax, so I can't compare, but the Hiboy Max Pro tire change isn't that big of a deal once you learn how. I've had to do it 3 times and its pretty easy to do by now. LOL

    It’s strange because my back tire is flat but I hear no air coming out.

    Do you have one for disconnecting the back wheel? I may want to do a solid tire.

    • @jeffreyned
      @jeffreyned  4 дня назад

      I hope you’re able to find a solid tire that fits. If you do, please respond back with a link.

    What’s the best method to hold the tube in place and place the nut in so it holds so I can apply the rim after

    • @jeffreyned
      @jeffreyned  28 дней назад

      I put half the tire on the rim first, then I put the tube in starting with the valve stem. Then I jammed my finger behind the valve stem and held it while I put the nut on. Then I stuffed the rest of the tube in around the rim. Then I pushed the outside half of the tire onto the rim and put the ring on after that. Hope that makes sense. I ended up using a tube with a 90 degree bent valve stem. It didn’t have that nut on it and just stayed there while I pushed the other half of the tire onto the rim. You can put a little air into the tube once you have it stuffed in and then push the tire on. That also keeps the valve stem from sliding back out. Hope that helps.

      @@jeffreyned ok so you mentioned you aired it up with what kind of device like a hand pump or a air tank?

    • @jeffreyned
      @jeffreyned  28 дней назад

       I have an air compressor. But I just put in a little bit of air. You need to be able to push the other half of the tire onto the rim so don’t put very much in.

    Can you tell me how you got the tire off away from the tube? I’m having trouble getting the tire off or what tool you used?

    • @jeffreyned
      @jeffreyned  20 дней назад

      I'm not sure what you mean... Pull the tube out on the right hand side like the ring. Then you can pull the tire off the left side and pull the tube off the left side too. I just used my hands. No tools. Hope that helps.

      Don’t take the cable off or anything like that. The whole thing just slides out when you pull the wheel off.
