    Who should we film with next?

  • @zdf14

    I really like that Paulo explains everything as if the audience doesn't know anything about bass/equipment. Very good for the people uneducated on this stuff so they can follow along relatively easy.

      That's the goal when I film these videos. What is cut in the editing process is me giving a lot of prompts and asking specific questions, to help beginners when watching.

    "I don't think I'll ever be able to use anything else", and now he plays Kiesel instead of Warwick. To be fair, though, I feel this way about my Ibanez BTB.

    I'm not sure if the Corvette is modded or if Paolo doesn't know how the electronics work lol. The $$ pickups aren't "active and passive," they're passive pickups, and the switches change them from series, single coil, and parallel modes. The third and fourth knobs are treble and bass controls, NOT volume controls like he implied. So I guess he runs his treble all the way hot? The sound guy must fucking hate that haha.

      @@lessthanhumanmusic3410 So funny story about this that you may not believe. At the beginning of the pandemic Paolo started selling private bass lessons for like $80 an hour, so I immediately jumped on the opportunity and basically just interviewed him about his gear and technique for an hour. I asked him about this and sure enough, he DOES dime out the treble knob on his Warwick, which is a standard setup. The reason it works for him is because he sets his Kempers to very low gain, which results in a very crunchy, high-frequency boost without sounding tinny.

  • @GrittyTones
    @GrittyTones Год назад +1

    Been wanting a Corvette $$ for years but can't seem to find them anywhere and wouldn't be able to afford them anyways.
    Don't want to be hateful but he explained the controls wrong.
    The first knob is for volume the second is a blend for the pickups the third is a bass knob and the fourth is treble then the two toggle switches control the polarities of the pickups

    always have cabs mic'd on stage.. You can do both. You can go direct and have cabs micd on stage but bands that only go direct their live sound is weak and for people standing in front of the stage all they hear is noise. it's one of the reasons periphery uses both now

    • @pratamaputrarahardjo
      @pratamaputrarahardjo 6 лет назад +2

      Periphery does have cabs for stage volumes, but they're not mic'd up.

    • @jamiehush
      @jamiehush 6 лет назад +1

      I agree with you for guitar, but I think it's different for bass. The lower frequencies fill up the room better. Also the last time I saw Periphery live, they didn't even have a bass player on stage, let alone a bass cab :P

    • @EternalProphecyTV
      @EternalProphecyTV 6 лет назад

      They have cabs on stage for themselves, to feel the air pushing from their amps. It's not for the audience. At most venues they have speakers for the front row audience to hear anyways

    Isn’t .135 a small gauge for drop c# on a 5 string bass?

    • @misanthroposy
      @misanthroposy Год назад +1

      Not at all. 130 is fairly normal for a low B and a C is tuned even higher then that. So a 130 is a fairly thick gauge.
